🚨BOMBSHELL J.J. McCarthy Report via Dianna Russini
What is going on everybody? Happy Thanksgiving to all of you guys and I appreciate you guys taking time out of your busy day to tune in to today’s episode of Vikings now by Chad Sports. As always, I’m your host Patrick Seatman and I do just want to say thank you to all of you guys. Um Thanksgiving, I want to give thanks back to a lot of you guys that watch the show every single day. Um it really does mean a lot the support, the community we have just chopping up with you guys in the comment section even though we don’t always agree on takes. Um, but just still the community we have built here on the channel is really special and it’s something I look forward to every single day chopping up with you guys and following this this chaotic journey of being a Vikings fan to say the least. And I’m sure a lot of you guys are going to be meeting up with a lot of your family today and you guys are going to be chopping it up about the Minnesota Vikings. Um, that’s actually what I’m going to be doing here in a couple hours going to my aunt and uncle’s house and you know we’re going to be talking about the Vikes and it’s not going to be you know all positive there but uh I do really appreciate all of you guys for always watching my show. So, shout out to all the real ones. But coming up on today’s show, a couple things I want to talk about. We’re going to have a fun show on the second half where I do want to give the top five Vikings I am thankful for um this season. And then we are going to start off with what Diana Rossini, she wrote up in a article uh dropped yesterday, I believe. And she had one very interesting quote on JJ McCarthy, which is a little concerning. Um even though you know Diane Rossini, has she always headed out for JJ McCarthy? Yada yada yada. We know the whole storyline there. But I do want to share with you guys that one quote. And then also, she dropped a quote from an NFL scout talking about Max Brosmer and making that comparison um to Brock Perie. But I want your guys’ thoughts on this before we dive into it. Um I’m going to give you guys five Vikings that I’m thankful for on the second half of today’s show, but I want you guys to give me your number one Vikings player that you are most thankful for. It could also be a coach on the coaching staff, whatever it may be, but uh drop that player’s name down below. So, let’s talk about what Diana Rini what she wrote up on JJ McCarthy. So, I’ll just give you guys a quote, then I give you guys my thoughts. So, this was Diana Rousini on JJ saying, “I have been told there were some concerns about how another year sitting on the bench would affect him and would it even help? Every uh question has a cousin and suddenly they’re multiplying. Can a raw but talented quarterback grow fast enough to match a team built to win yesterday?” So, pretty much just laying out there like would it be beneficial to JJ McCarthy’s long-term development for him to sit on the bench for another season? And, you know, also would it affect him? And it was kind of implying like the mental toughness I guess that JJ McCarthy has. Would he be able to handle it to be like, okay, you know, you’re drafted in the top 10, but you are going to have to sit for two years. And, you know, I have some thoughts on this. First off, if the Vikings really viewed that as that big of a concern, what I I don’t think they would have liked JJ too much in the first place in the pre-draft process because if they thought that this kid couldn’t handle sitting on the bench for two years and that he was so mentally weak that he couldn’t handle that, I don’t think they would have drafted him in the top 10. So, I don’t really find that true what Diana’s uh reporting. And you know, plus like the Vikings, like I’m assuming the guys in the front office would have enough, you know, wherewithal to be like, “Oh, look at the Green Bay Packers, our division rival who’s been kicking our ass for the last 20, 30, 40 years. What have they done with young quarterbacks? Oh, they sat Jordan Love for three years. They sat Rogers for three years.” So, I don’t know if that really would have made an impact. But the part she was saying this last, can a raw but talented quarterback grow fast enough to match a team built to win yesterday? That’s kind of the honestly like that is a perfect way to sum it up because I wish I did a better job this off seasonason realizing where it’s like yeah no JJ is a developmental project. He is a developmental prospect. It’s going to take some time but like this Vikings team like you were trying the balance where it’s like all right we’re going to develop this young quarterback but we’re also trying to win immediately and that’s where just it has not blended at all this season. That’s where we’re seeing guys getting frustrated. We’re seeing JJ almost lose confidence because listen, even if JJ like let’s just say the Vikings were in a situation where I don’t want to go like bottom feeders in the NFL like the Titans, but let’s just say he was on a let’s say he was team on like the Atlanta Falcons for example where maybe they’re not fully ready to win now, but there are some expectations to win. Um, like I don’t think like the players would be in this much of an uproar where it’s like you see Jefferson getting frustrated. You see these veterans on the team, you know, just getting pissed off at where the offense is at right now and for right reason because these were guys that saw this team win 14 games last season. They were probably expecting JJ to step in. At least that’s what Kevin Oonnell, that’s what the front office told him be like, “Guys, we can go on a Super Bowl run with this guy.” And then they see him out there and it’s like we don’t even have a flatout chance. Um, so that’s been the one problem with this season. And I think if you just had like so like hey what went wrong with the Viking season if you had to sum it up there it’s like you were trying to de develop a quarterback who was extremely raw but also you had a roster that has built the win now and it just did not mesh whatsoever. But the part that Diana wrote out there about there were some concerns about how another year sitting on the bench would affect him. I think that’s ludicrous. I don’t think the Vikings would have brought in Aaron Rogers for example. Diana, do you think JJ would have been just sitting in the locker room pouting an NFL legend if they would have brought in Rogers for one year? I don’t think so. So, I thought that was a little just Diana just kind of throwing these, you know, loose jabs at McCarthy, but you know, whatever. But, I do want to share with you guys this quote NFL uh scout said on Max Brosmer saying he’s not flashy, but neither was Brock Pury when he first got tossed into the fire for the niners and then Brock Party ended up winning the job. Now, who knows what Max Brosmer is? Like, he’s a wild card. Like, we have seen these guys. It doesn’t matter where you’re drafted, where you went to school, how many throws you, you know, made in college, what your archetype is, your physical talent. It does not matter. Once you step on that NFL field, it’s completely different. Bros could go out there and light it up. I would not be shocked if Bromer walks into Seattle and gets a win. Do I think it’s likely? No. But you have that new quarterback juice where Jefferson even alluded to it this week. He was saying like, “Yeah, we got Brosmer stepping in. You know, we’re fired up to give this offense a spark. That very well could happen.” And I wouldn’t be shocked that the Vikings walked into Seattle and won. But also wouldn’t be shocked that the Vikings walked into Seattle and they lost 48-10. I will tell you guys this right now. If the Vikings lose 48-10 to the Seahawks and Sam Darnold lights up this defense, somebody’s getting fired on Monday. I I also think it could be the GM because you don’t have in a billion-dollar industry a [ __ ] up like the Vikings did of letting a guy like Sam Darnold walk out the door and then you go play him to kind of put the nail in the like the last nail in the coffin of your season where you go four and eight and Darnold’s giving it to you without somebody getting fired. Could it even be somebody like Josh Macau could be a you know lower level personnel you know whatever maybe but I think that it is on the table if the Vikings get embarrassed enough that maybe Quay’s gone. I don’t think it’s going to happen. very unlikely. I would fire him yesterday. Um but yeah, that’s all from the reports, but fun part of today’s show. Um since it since it is Thanksgiving, I do want to give some shout outs to some guys on the Vikings roster. I understand it’s uh you know, not a lot to be thankful for being a Vikings fan, but I do want to give five guys and I am thankful for. And we’re going to start off here, the guy I’m most thankful for, the best player on the football team by a wide margin. I’m actually going Will Record here. Uh the kicker. Shout out to Will the Throw. This guy’s been absolute nails um the entire season and it’s just awesome finally having a franchise kicker um even though this season is you know just a complete throwaway but having a franchise guy and Will Riker he’s been nails you know I think he’s what made three or four kicks from um like 59 yards or up this year like shout out to Will the throw man dude’s an absolute dog how about a little Jaywin Redmond that’s the second Vikings player I’m thankful for defensive tackle this guy’s had an unbelievable season man and he’s gonna want to get paid um the Vikings got to do whatever they can to bring him back. Um, I would cut Hargrave and Allen tomorrow if that meant we could keep Jaylen Redmond. Hargrave and Allen are just overweight, overpaid. Um, they’re just not good. They’re out of shape. Um, they just they just don’t play good football. But Redmond’s been a revelation. I mean, what would we be talking about for this defensive line if we didn’t have Redmond stepping up? We’d be saying we got one of the worst defensive tackle units in the league um with how bad Hard Graven Allen had. So, Will Riker won, Jaylen Redmond number two. Number three, got to go with the real best player on the Minnesota Vikings, Justin Jefferson. Um, I feel bad for him this year. Um, I think he’s honestly held it together pretty well. Like knowing how much of a competitor he is, the fiery, you know, he just had the fire he has in his DNA and he’s been seeing the worst quarterback play in the league. And the fact that he’s been able to just stay steady. He’s shown some emotions, but for right reason. I mean, the man averages 97 receiving yards per game, but then when when McCarthy’s in the lineup, he’s like going for like 50 yards a game. Like obviously he’s pissed off. Like McCarthy is affecting his stats. he’s affecting his legacy. And that’s also the thing about being a wide receiver where I don’t necessarily feel bad for these guys being divas because it’s like they have the most like they depend on another position more than any other position in all sports cuz like even if you’re a two guard in basketball and your point guard is having an awful game like you can still get yours but like if JJ’s having an off game and he’s throwing for 87 yards like Jefferson’s got no chance to go for 100 yards. Um so I do feel bad for Jefferson but he’s still an alltime talent. So, I’m thankful for him. And even though this guy should probably be in a retirement home, he’s been playing bad football this year. Uh Harrison Smith, um he’s just a legend in this organization. I honestly feel bad for him. I think he should retire right now. I don’t think Harry should uh, you know, finish out this season, but shout out to 22, the Hitman. And then lastly, probably my one of my favorite players ever to watch defensively for the Vikings, uh, Andrew Van Genko. Even though I thought he had a rough game against the Green Bay Packers, still overall in the season, this defense hits another level when he’s in there. So, I’m thankful for him as well. But the five guys I’m thankful for, give me Will Riker, Jaylen Redmond, Justin Jefferson, Harrison Smith, Andrew Van Ginkle, and you guys. Let me know what player you’re thankful for down below. Enjoy Thanksgiving. Appreciate all of you guys taking time out of your day to watch this today’s show. Seriously, shout out to all of y’all. And uh we’ll get on out of here. Skull Vikes.

Name a Vikings player you are thankful for!
Let me address all problems that all other commentators are not addressing.
So if you look back at when Carson was playing and he had the shoulder injury when playing and that’s because he got his butt kicked and injured for the season because he has no protection and same with McCarthy and he’s on concussion protocol and now what if Brosmer gets hurt this Sunday? Then what do we do??? These commentators are clearly not seeing the problem and I’m currently addressing it right now
the word is Collaboration….remember that statement….that means to me….more then 1 person gets fired….like Kwesi and the entire Scouting Squad…..We NEED to draft better!
JJ didn't play in a passing system at Michigan like the NFL requires. The Vikings had him rated way too high,
he appears to be a second round pick at best. Without an NFL quality QB, the rest of the team will
continue to suffer. Admit the mistake, and do things to fix it now .
WHAT TALENT? He's lacking every aspect of a QB in the NFL.
Keith Millard was awesome before injury. Solid after but was great before.

Kevin Williams
John Randle
JJ sucks
If KOC misses the playoffs, fire everyone that isn’t on the Defensive staff.
The narrative that JJ couldn’t handle sitting for two years, has kind of been out there before. Back in mid March when everyone was anxiously waiting to see what the Vikings were going to do at QB with SD & DJ being FA’s, and then the drama surrounding AR, delusional fans who drink the purple Koolaid believing everything Kwesi & KOC do was a Devine intervention from God, started saying things like “we can’t sign SD, DJ, or AR because JJ will get offended that he isn’t starting”! OMG Patrick, you are finally getting it, but how come you are just now starting to understand that a rookie QB requiring a lot of development, as most rookie QB’s need, was a bad fit for a team that was ready to win now? As I have said before, NO rookie QB has ever taken a team to the Super Bowl, and the success rate of rookie QB’s drafted in the 1st round is only 35-45% depending on how success is defined. Certainly, those odds were lower than the odds of SD duplicating what he did last season which I would have put at 75-90%!
Patrick, you should have thrown in an honorable mention for Jonathan Greenard, as I think everyone has been great full for him!
Love your show bro and i dodnt believe this initially but i think russini is right on this one…he had a mental health coach on the sidelines at every michigan game…and he would check in with him
Constantly! This should of been a red flag and we should of known about this…kwesi and KOC have some explaining to do if they hid this or didnt know
I'm thankful for Blake Cashman. Man, JJ is Christian Ponder in the flesh. 😢 Next time can we pick a QB that actually threw the ball in college? And wasn't just a game manager? We wanted Maye and lost out so we reached. Bad decision. Let's move on and lets go Mad Max!!!!
I’m most thankful for Mr Jalen Redman
Thankful for Jain nailor
BEAR DOWN
Not thankful for Thor’s hammer of annual defeat that is as heavy as the core of a dying star…. thankful for Nailor, he showed up to play in spite of everything.
Expect the worst and hope for the best. Fan base really needs to stay in reality.
I realized that kwesi completely ruined our franchise in one off season
the biggest thin g I see in Max is his smarts asnd his quick release. I also think O'connell and Masse were afraid t play him because of his skills and understanding of the position as well. About time
Go Pack Go

No, definitely not. 🧐
