I was curious about the over-representation of some divisions relative to the others, so I did some quick math:
NFC North: 172 times teams appeared in games (counting today)
NFC East: 95
NFC West: 40
NFC South: 10
AFC West: 35
AFC East: 33
AFC North: 19
AFC South: 13
I struggle to make sense of that. NFC North teams have appeared more than ten times as often as the AFC South teams – but then there’s the Vikings, the exception to the NFC North rule, who have appeared only nine times, less than one-fourth the frequency of the Bears and Packers. Is there some mystical calculus to all this that I’m not seeing?
Wait, **how are we 2-3**? I recall a blowout win over the 49ers in 2014 and a blowout loss to the 49ers in 2023.
