I want a Burrow, Mahomes, Jackson, Allen, Stafford, Herbert, Maye, Daniels, Prescott, Mayfield, etc. I want to know what it feels like to have a franchise qb. I didnt get to watch Cam play here during his prime.

  1. Imagine if Bryce had played as bad as Lamar Jackson has these last three games. Or if he threw 3 ugly INTS in a half like Purdy did. We’d literally be talking fans down off bridges.

  2. Once we have one, we will all look back at these days and laugh at all the “Bryce is HIM” threads following one of his 3 acceptable performances per season.

  3. Can we chill? Bryce made boneheaded mistakes, but let’s not forget that besides the first interception in the redzone:
    – McMillan had some crucial drops
    – Xavier Legette stepped out of bounds
    – one interception was a missed holding call on McMillan, where he likely would’ve been where the pass landed
    – I remember a few boneheaded offensive line penalties that erased

Idk if fans are just looking at the box score, or what, but I saw effort from Young where he would’ve had over 200 yards if not for those positive plays going wrong in ways that I don’t put solely on Bryce

  4. The one time we had one they ran him into the ground in record time. We don’t deserve one.

  5. I feel you. I was blessed to be able to witness Cam Newton in his prime. If it makes you feel better, all of the QBs you named make the same mistakes as Bryce does. Maybe not as often but they do. Our QB play is also compounded by incompetent play calling.

Also, I’m not a Bryce hater or supporter. I try my best to see both sides 😅.

  6. We have enough whining with a hint of edgy threads, pick one from the last 4 days and throw this unfunny attempt in there.

  7. I would argue that some of those guys aren’t full on “franchise guys”, at least not my definition of it. Mayfield and Dak, two of favorite QBs in the whole league, have bouts of serious inconsistency. Baker, Dak, and Herbert haven’t won anything in the playoffs. Maye and Daniels, while promising, are waaayyy too early to call franchise QBs. Daniels could be another RG3. Maye could go the way of tua or Trevor, and land a 200 mil contract then be buns.

Franchise QBs dont grow on trees and they are way more rare than fans think. There are like maybe 5 QBs league wide that would be far above average regardless of system

  8. Half the league wants the guys you’ve listed and several are generational talents.

Franchise quarterbacks are quite rare. A lot of franchises wind up going decades without one. Cam might be the best Panthers QB we’ll ever see. What you should realistically be asking for is a *starting* QB; unfortunately we’re three years into the Bryce experiment and not really sure if he’s a starter or not. The idea of him being a “franchise” QB is long gone.

  9. The 9ers traded a ton for Lance and moved on unceremoniously.

It’s a business and sometimes you have to be brutal about it.

Draft picks are like lottery tickets, you keep trying until you find a generational talent.

  10. It’s hilarious that people still defend Bryce on here. He’s a first round bust. There isn’t a single stat to say otherwise.

  11. I feel you. We aren’t good enough to make serious push for the playoffs given how tough the final stretch of games are, but we aren’t bad enough to get a top pick. A season of hanging around mediocrity with flashes of good play. I hope Bryce works out, but I believe we have seen a large enough sample size to know he’s not the guy. Far too inconsistent. Reminds me a lot of Alex Smith on San Francisco.

  12. Not even that, i’m just frustrated at seeing teams be consistently good every year. Like why can’t we be that? ugh
