The 49ers Run on ROBERT SALEH πŸ“ˆ #nfl #football #49ers #sanfrancisco49ers

The NFL’s coach of the year is not a head coach. It’s a defensive coordinator. What Robert Salah is doing with this 49ers team is special. Put yourself in his shoes for a second. In the offseason, you lose your number one corner. In September, you lose your star edge rusher, one of the best players in the NFL for the season. About a month later, you lose another AllPro, one of the best players in the league, Fred Warner, for the season. In that first game without Fred Warner, you hold the Atlanta Falcons, who are redot at this point, to 10 points. 10 points. Then, in back-to-back weeks, Yet Gross Moss and Mikuel Williams both go on IR. Yet, despite all of these things, the San Francisco 49ers are still giving up the 11th fewest points per game, the 10th fewest rush yards per game, which is really impressive with that defensive line as banged up as it is. They have a top 12 red zone defense, and ultimately upkeeping a team that has an offense on the other side that is good. That is making them a playoff team when ultimately, in my opinion, they really have no business roster-wise being a playoff team. And don’t get it twisted, Kyle Shanahan absolutely deserves a ton of credit for where this 49ers team is at right now. But when you talk about a coach of the year, it’s always who is doing the most with the least. This guy’s rolling out multiple rookies in his starting lineup and is still putting out a competitive defense on a week- toeek basis. We were witnessing something
