NHL Highlights | Canucks vs. Sharks – November 28, 2025

NHL for him and Mlin Celbrini mentioned the Sharks are coming off a loss in the 12 makes a move around Godette. Drops for Garland. Wrist shot blocker saved by Ascarov. Beler drops back to Garland. Here’s Besser in the slot. Wrist shot scores. Only needed one chance to bury a goal in this one as Brock Besser opens the scoring. 428 in. Ninth of the year for Brock Besser to get the Canucks off on the right foot. Chance Besser gets five opportunities and doesn’t score again tonight. The movement all over the zone is an impossibility for the Sharks to keep up with. This is such a challenging part of defense now in the NHL that was never there before. Every team’s got to try and identify who exactly am I going to get. That’s Lilligrin who’s slow getting to Besser. Besser comes from low to high and the shot goes right past Ascarov and after to Smith at the side of the goal across and getting a stick on that pass was Phil Heronic Wenberg side of the goal. Fan on his pass but the puck does get through to Celebr Center and Smith scores. Wenberg’s first pass was blocked. 2023. He and Celibbrini play together on this top line all the time. The power play worked the puck really well. And as you mentioned, Shorty Wenberg’s first blast is deflected and stopped by Heronic, but it the bounce comes right back to Ekkan. He stays with it and Smith is still camped out on the left side of the net. still got a minute 54 to serve in his penalties. The Sharks in this 1-1 game begin with a man advantage and they’ll begin from their own zone as Garland is able to send the puck all the way down the ice. Or starts from behind his own net. Eklan drops back. Here’s Celibbrini with speed. Tried to pass for Will Smith. Went over his stick, but he’s able to gather the puck in the corner. get it back to the blue line to Orlov. Now Smith Orlov again. Celbrini top of the circle across. Smith delays and Tipino made the save. I think Smith gets the puck up at the top of the circle. He’s going to wait for that seam to open. Camp and Garland are almost tied together. They have to be staggered as that puck will go. You’ll see a good look at it here. Look at where Camp and Garland are. And as they rotate, that opens up the seam. Smith’s waiting in the water and Meyers blocked his pass down and he’ll bring the puck ahead short-handed. Patterson running a little interference going to the net as De Bruskas Meyers shoots into the glove of Ascarov. He’s able to hang on a 93 mph slap shot from about the faceoff dump on the ice including right when he gets it, but he gets into the feet of Person. There’s the little interference you talk about as he and Celibbrini come together and Meyers gets to walk into dying seconds of the power play. Sharks get it back to Clingberg. tease it up for Tofoley and he’s stopped by Toapilo who’s able to reach out with the left hand and make the save just as the penalty to Bane from Tofoley. It’s a quick release and it’s through traffic and Tolapo finds it and he spreads out to make the glove stop. Tofoley doesn’t take any time to get rid of this and there’s you know he’s got back to Hughes walks the line watched by Reeves stops to get away from Reeves. Hughes with a wrist shot blocked in front. Vander Besser rebound. Pardon me. That was Vander again who couldn’t get it to go. Heronic goes back. Watched by Will Smith. Sends the puck around near side. De Brusk takes Dickinson off the puck to allow it to escape the zone. Oh, what a play by Patterson. Knocks it to himself. He’s in. He’s hooked. He scores while falling down. Elias Patterson. What hand eye coordination throughout that entire sequence. And he gives the Canucks a two-1 lead. Play and turns the day so quickly. He knocks this out of the air away from Tofoley. Ascarov plays this terribly in goal here. He thinks the shots here. Now he’s out of position and it ends up banking in off of the right pad of Ascarov. But look at the play here. Out of midair away from Tofoley gets knocked down by Celibbrini and it ends up in takes a drop pass from Wber shoots and he pulled it wide and the old Canucks will break back. Four of them through center. Leading the way is Okconor moving on Clingberg. Drew O’ Conor shoots off the glove of Ascarov and wide to the goal. Threeon-one as it may be with Okconor. Okconor holds it. That’s well played defensively by Clingberg. Now tries to sweep the puck to the blue line couldn’t get it there and the Sharks. Or pickpock it. Besser stopped by Ascarov as can the puck. Besser again. Rob by Ascarov. Moves to the bottom of the circle. fires back to Vander across to K. Vander again. Here’s Heronic. Just under a minute to go on the power play. Leas Carlson. Sherwood is stopped by Ascarov. Beer gets to the loose puck down for Kane. Fans are getting into it now whenever he has the puck on his stick. Oh, I bet he loves it. I love it with that. Now you want to score. Quinn Hughes has come on long wrist shot and I think Sher got a piece of that. tipped it down but just wide. Kane to Hughes. 30 seconds to go in the power play. Another Sherwood tip. Kane hit the post. Sherwood after the loose puck gets it back to Quinn Hughes. Hughes to heronic. Quinn Hughes again. Wrist shot tipped by Carlson this time and stopped by Ascarov. Now Ascarov probably didn’t play the Patterson goal very well, but he’s been brilliant since. Hughes of the blue line just kept it in. Quinn Hughes wrist shot stopped. Loose puck Sherwood digging away and Ascarov able to cover with just one second left in the Holo is able to grab it. Sharks get the puck off the draw. Clingberg out to greet him as Patterson. Here’s Civrini. Moves to the middle. Dishes to the side. They score. Heck, sixth of the year as he powered that one through toilo and the Sharks with a couple of power play goals. The faceoff win means they don’t have to go back and reset. Celibbrini will take this into the middle of the ice and as everybody adjusts to him moving across the top that will open up the sharp angle one time. We see Leon Dryside do this a lot. He’s a stride off the goal line. Orlo checked in the corner by Phil Heronic. Myers tried to dig the puck free. It’s knocked down by Philip Kurishv to Foley. Back around Kurichev along behind the goal run in front and jammed on net by Godette. Toilo’s got it. He’s not sure where it is. Here’s a look. This is Godette. That’s his stick on the back hand. And they’re going to announce it, too. At 4:44 in the second period, the puck completely crossed the goal line. We have a good goal. There must be another look cuz I don’t see it. Unless it’s in his glove, shorty. Yeah, Person near side. Dying seconds in the power play. Leas Patterson across. Besser stopped by Ascarov who came sliding to his right. Terrific because they shot the puck. They retrieved it. Now you tire out the penalty killers. This pass is about a foot be power play at the start of the third period is big advantage. The ice is fresh and the puck slides better. Oh man, you’re like an ego waffle. But he’s able to poke the puck back to Hughes. Now Besser takes one off the boards. Hughes one timer into the glove of Aaro or Ascarov, pardon me. move the puck around and eventually Hughes is going to shoot it. If we remember back to the second period, their power play started again and that one blocker away by Ascarov. Conucks now 0 for three on the power center to Bruss looked like he was on the wrong side of the net there and now we have a penalty coming up. another chance as we see where the penalty is. Is the puck is gone after De Brusk is Vounder moves the puck to center. Sharks break it in. Smith up the gap. Stopped by Topilo. Conucks will try to break back but Baines couldn’t reach that puck. Falls down and Elias Patterson gets the puck ahead to Garland into the middle for David Camp. O’ Conor’s fresh off the bench making moves on to Foley. Puts one in front that deflected on goal and kicked out with the right pad. And a half left in San Jose. 3-2 San Jose as this puck deflects from gets in over the blue line, but the puck’s knocked off his stick. Garland’s back out there. Stalling the puck is Good in on goal. There’s going to be a penalty here to Evander Kane. Slashing call. Garland will have the puck stripped of him by Goodro. Really nice stop here by Toledo. Kane gets the and they do. Sherwood Hughes Patterson had to take it off his skate. Now he turns into the faceoff circle. He shoots into the glove of Ascarov again. Oh, that was a good shot. That’s close. Besser wins two puck battles. One on the draw, one in that circle. Patterson couldn’t shoot. The one-time was a little bit off. Camp tied up. And that’ll do it. Ascarov picks up his six.

Yaroslav Askarov had 32 saves and Will Smith, William Eklund, and Adam Gaudette each scored as the San Jose Sharks landed a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.

  1. First of all, this has got to be one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. Both of the Canucks and Sharks were getting stupid and controversial calls throughout this game, for example. that unsportsmanlike conduct call on Hughes makes no sense whatsoever. He was upset and wanted to reason with the ref, and he gets sent to the box. Ridiculous.

And at the final seconds of the game, a brawl erupts. EP40 gets caught up in the melee, but he does not swing, shove, punch, or get physical. Yet he STILL gets a minor for roughing, just for simply doing nothing. That's not okay.

Second of all, that goal by EP40 was nuts. That possibly could be the goal of the season.

  2. Terrible officiating, the whole ending was just terrible. faceoff in the zone even though Hughes was actually in the scrum. Can't say the refs weren't active since there was 13 powerplay 7 for Van, 6 for SJS.

  3. Nice bounce back. Askarov really settled in after the second goal. Another very good game for him. Always nice to see Celebrini get on the scoresheet twice. Good for Eklund getting off the schnied of sorts with his first goal since october. Gaudette has been a solid addition. Nice PK work especially from Graf. Tomorrow in Vegas will be a fun one

  4. Garrett Rank should never be allowed to officiate a game ever again. He’s got the emotional maturity of a pubescent girl. Actually, just send this l0ser into outer space.

  5. This has to be the worst officiated game I’ve watched all season. Not just the worst officiated Canucks game, either, the single worst officiated NHL game I’ve watched. With that said though special teams were the difference. That Pettersson goal was also very nice.

  6. I had to laugh toward the end when Pettersson got a penalty because he got crosschecked three times in the back, lol. Even the ref giving Hughes a penalty because he said something to him. What an awful game, lol.

  7. When are the nuckle heads going to fire another coach. May as well bring up some American League guy. Defensively they are lost. When was the last game the nucks took no penalties. 1920.

  8. I think Askarov is really impressive for a guy who's basically his first legit NHL season, give it a few more years, and other young players get more experience, he could be a solid franchise goalie for the sharks IMO. He's very composed even when forced to make crazy saves when the d-men failed
