Carolina Hurricanes vs. Winnipeg Jets – Game Highlights
fresh team in front of them and a highly motivated team winless in their last three. We are underway. The Jets as I mentioned a moment ago six and five on the road. Same as at home. Carolina at home 63 and one coming off a loss to the Rangers. Miller the former Rangers shot and Millich makes his first NHL stop right there. Hurricanes on the attack early. Samberg tries to take his man out. Harry a centering pass. Militch with a fine save as it’s cleared to the near side. Ina and look who’s got the puck. Samberg lobs it in. Valardi got in behind Justice Bear. Good pass for Shankley to the net. Conor with a backhand and he just missed as more able to be in a routine tonight rather than get in late after this one and play tomorrow against Nashville. He grabs that bouncing puck. The Jets have killed the penalty. He’s off to a nice starter. That shot he poops that one away. That’s five shots to none for Carolina. Mark the Brandon native places it behind the goal will carry a Goss bear is at the point but he elects to send it through with the back hand and another glove save by Millichlo took the game’s first penalty has room to maneuver he’ll skate it ahead now shoot that all the way down for Dillo his 216th straight regular season game had some chances honored specifically in tight but missed the net spear moves ahead cross ice speed centering pass the cut on the backand can’t finish son in assists and with one more he’ll be the leader there. I’m not a big pastry guy then but that Danish is good. It certainly is. He’s a glue guy as well and he’s off the ice in the room. Blends in anywhere. It was good to see him interacting with some Hurricanes fans in the warmup. That long shot by DLO is handled easily by Brandon Busy before the game and El Nino. All sorts of signs out there looking for selfies, looking for pucks and yeah, that’s that’s a common thing you see there. A lot of those Neo needle rider jerseys still around this arena. And then with a face off win Morsey Shaw tip loose in front it’ll skip right to Connor. It’s taken back quickly by the Hurricanes. AO checked from behind with the stick by Shankley. Knocked on goal and stopped by Milich and they draw the whistle. He couldn’t get it to the front of the net. Miller his pass. Ricochets off his skate loose in front. Dylan Delo finds a shot and that changed direction. It hit a stick before it got to the Melo. Solomon the second round pick 55th overall in 2022. Now stretchnikov checked by tease. He’s able to headman the puck. Ao drops it. Cost is fair. Feet split right apart. Jarvis scores. Seth Jarvis with his second goal in his many games against his hometown team. Opens the scoring. Major breakdowns defensively in this game. The Jets have given up a couple inner slot shots. Nothing overly dangerous. This is a breakdown. Seth Jarvis right there, left all alone. And it’s not for very long. But you’re now asking your goalender to look in his rear view mirror and now come in front of that shot. It’s nearly impossible for any goalender to to get the goal came at 1606. An opening preventing the defenseman fell. He’s alone and he’s stopped by the stick of Busy. And one thing you know if he played that well at the World Junior Hockey Championships that might be the highest pressure tournament there is a spare all the way to center. AO will pick up the pace a little bit now. Sebastian Aaho only four points this year and a breakaway for Mark Shley scores. Goals and two straight for Shley. This game is tied at one through the neutral zone right there. A little advanced play and watch Shipley kind of rolls his wrists and I think that he fools Busy thinking that it’s going to go short side and he just kind of wraps his blade around this and boom goes wide just above the pad. That’s a well play placed shot for Mark Shley and the Jets catch Carol and Connor comes up with it. Saucers it back to Moresy Connor pressure on him so he swift it immediately. Exactly. Nice move. Centering pass. Busy with a good stop. What a set up by Shackley. That’ll come over to Blake. Jackson Blake cross ice pass and Mill is able to get a piece of it as it stays out. Millich going from left to right in a hurry. Back from the Western Hockey League. Cam Loops and Seattle respectively. And look at that athleticism, quickness. What you give up in size, you gain in speed. And that’s great anticipation. And a side to side save from Thomas Village. It’s a big one to keep this game locked at once. The former group other than the top liners have scored a goal, but they’re in pretty good shape here in this 1-1 game. The third period has begun and it’ll bounce down towards Busy. He played it confidently to Nika. Strip to the line and leave it left side. Polardi checked right away by Spetchnikov. He’s sticking with it. Had his stick tied up. Connor, nice move. Salivson score. Oh, I thought that was in. S Monson bring it off the crossbar. Monson nearly this close to keeping that puck for the rest of his life. A beautiful pass to the weak side and that close off the inside. Play all the way down inside the zone. Jarvis to the net. Good stop by Militch and Salammonson goes careening into the goal. Out and then defensively Salammonson’s back. Thomas now Miller makes a high slot pass. Puck bouncing around. Connor releases. Can he get it? Can he stay on side? Connor alone shorthanded. Oh, what a stop by busy. Connor with several moves and he just couldn’t put it in. Kyle Connor on the penalty kill. Just watch the way the Jets when one pressures I follow goes. Samberg steps up and boom, Kyle Connor face a turnover. Then he’s off to the races. He has time and he goes back to the forehand and Busty with a toenail keeps this thing out. That close and it’s been that type of a game. What you’re watching right now, folks. Line one on the ice for Winnipeg. Cost Blake makes his way up the wing. Blake set it up. Nikolai’s back hand and that Greg off the post. Look out near the line. Shy looking for a steal. Scurrying back to Miller. Two Hurricanes are on him. Miller comes out of it though. Inflict it to the hash marks. Scar. Put it behind the goal. Mark Janowski. Martin shot. Score. Mark Chenowski gets the go ahead. Martinook rather gets the go-ahead goal with 808 left in the third. No goals in his last 12 for Martinook. But he does a lot of heavy lifting for this team. checking, defending, penalty killing. But like we’ve seen, rapid fire shots, high volume with traffic netfront change the point of attack from corner to corner. Well executed as Martinuk slides on the rail from one side to the other. That’s his third. Janowski and Gossber got the assist. Perfetti right in. And he can’t finish it. Heretti with a great opportunity. His second of the game. Let’s keep going. Speednikov with it for the Hurricanes. poked away. Nice check by Shley, but they get it back. Switch the clock. Sheriff angle shot. Bangs it off the corner boards. Miller fine feed and Jarvis scores. That’s two for Jarvis and it’s three to one. Boy, th this is didn’t see it coming, but you can just see shot from every angle and that’s an outstanding pass. Seth Jarvis gets lost a little bit and a little bit leaky defensively, but that’s the margin of error. Not off by much. And I don’t know that that Millet saw it. Elias Salamonson down for Connor. Salamonson tries to get open out of the stick of Fetchnikov and it goes out. Jarvis looking for that hattick. He’s got an empty net and he scores. Seth Jervis with his 15th of the season, third of the night and it’s four to one. Little bit and that’s kind of been the tail of this third period. Jets just missed and then Carolina comes back and they don’t for their third goal of this third period in the third goal of the game for Seth Jarvis just over a minute to go and the Jets are going to lose their fourth straight back out to center half a minute to go. So the Hurricanes will improve to 73 and one here at Lenovo Center. The Jets will drop to six and six on the road. And they’ve got another one. Boy, I can’t remember the last time the Jets give out four goals in a single period, but a shot from range. And that one is one that Thomas Milish wished he would have back. The first three were tough. That one from range on the blocker side. That’s in the Hurricanes blew it open in the third and they skate away with a 5-1 victory.

Can the Jets comment
Absolutely abysmal. Aside from the top line and a couple of other players, it's just not good enough. No real sustained pressure. So slow. Nyquist and Toews are awful.
Poor Millic didn’t play bad just couldn’t get the run support he needed
Jets been getting hammered lately…
And how is Shenn still a jet waste of money better off putting dancing gabe on D or in net
Play the young guys, and see what they got, team is dog water this year. What a disappointment. Feel bad for Millic, feels like the Jets D is so bad they can't do anything and they are still playing like Bucky is in net.
BOYS LETS FACE IT JETS ARE NOT GOING TOO PLAYOFFS WITH 13 SHOTS ON GOAL🤣 FUCKING PITIFUL🤡 @nhljets
Slack defence and lack of execution on offence- how many breakaways did they miss……
For God’s sake put the kids in already! What’s the point of drafting all these talented players if you’re not gonna let em play?
Go Jets! Go!!!
No way Milic loses his NHL debut in that manner with Logan Stanley screening him and being the AHL D-Man that he is while the oldest and slowest team of skaters can't generate offense. The Pionk contract already looks like a boat anchor. On the upside Salo and Milic look at least like they can match the pace of the game.
Time to fire Scott Arniel. The Jets are going down the drain, drip, drip, drip.
