Maple Leafs vs. Capitals | NHL Highlights | November 28, 2025

set to go in DC with the NHL on Monumental
Sports Network. Referees today, John McKisa, Kelly Southerntherland, Tommy Hughes, Leor
Suchanic on the lines. This is Rasmus Sandine, a one-time Maple Leaf. Van Reike down low for
a backhand. Wall made a save. Follow-up chance at the line. Score. The wash out was made. The
puck dribbled in. The goal light never went on, but the Capitals celebrate 21 seconds in.
Some explanations to Obie here. Here’s the play down low. One back hand. Two shots. Here’s
the puck rolling through and the whistle was in play there. The whist and Kelly Sutherland will
make the call at center ice. After video review, it’s deemed that the play was stopped prior
to continuous motion. The puck crossing the goal line. There’s no goal on the ice. He’s really
come on as a young player. Just 23 points already on the season. That’s pretty impressive for the
youngster. Slick passing between Sort of Wilson and Proing in the game today. Nice stretch there
for Mcichael. Knander out due to illness. Ryan Leonard hits the brakes. Leonard closing, fires,
makes a save. Rebound. Another pad stop. Dakota Joshua with a biscuit here. He too was scratched
by Craig Marubi healthy the other night. Sending a message. That’s what happens when you lose
by Beckman Larson working on the perimeter. Snap shot score. Catching Thompson leaving that
short side open. The Leafs grab the lead. Yeah, snapshot short side to top corner there. That
is quite a shot. Last six games not here today. Beer comes down low. Here’s the veteran defenseman
and not in the right positioning there for Logan. Unfortunately, he’s looking around. He doesn’t
sense where the puck is after that pass was made. He was screened and there’s the Riley short side
shot giving the Leafs a one- nothing lead. Just an awful feeling for Ryan drops it. Mcichel closing
off the give and go. Leonard sends it back to the point. Rotate around for a Roy drive. Stick save.
Wool put their goalenders in danger it seems like every night with a ton of shots. Backing away
from a one-timer. Wool made the pad save there on Carlson’s relay. No Stallars for Toronto.
Also no Chris Taniv and no Brandon Carlo. Two fixtures on their defensive end. Mcichel fires.
Good flashy stick save there from Wool. Sandine should have no trouble clearing. Are we going to
commercial next whistle? Um no. Are you trying to direct now and produce? You wear a lot of You
wear a lot of hats down low. Pad save. W a real good one there on Ouchetskin. Sandine cross ice.
That’s dangerous. This a breakaway for Lock. He walks in alone to the back hand. Nice stop there.
Thompson kept the pads together in time. Pressure on Van Reams Dyke. Lton side stepping Wilson. Feed
it back for a Riley drive that’s deflected away. enters the picture. Trickled around for Carlson.
Tvaris plays it to the point. Wrist deflected off the inside of the post. Wilson, Stro, Leonard,
Ovuchetkin and Chickran on this AV power play for Washington. Drive stopped by W. Looked like
it dipped and it looked like Tom might have got a piece of that with the blade of his stick
there. Stro goozed it back. Chicken fekin fires. Oh, read that well. Carlson cross ice. Stubbed
that pass. Ny is away. Twoonone with Matthews. Ny for Matthews. P save. Thompson marked that
one down. Make lease. Two tough threats there. NY still busy. He scores. Matthew Ny for the
Leafs. Yep. That’s that snapshot we’ve talked about. He’s a big guy. Got his gets his sixth
goal of the season. Drill him. Here’s the nice play to Matthews. The shot saved. The puck
goes to the corner. Watch what happens in the corner here. It goes down. Obi’s going to come
over and try to crush him in the corner along a wall right here. Matthews able to dip and
doodle around him. Finds Knives in the high slots and rips it. That’s an even strength
goal for Matthew. Knick sends it high on the lip of the boards. 5 and 1/2 minutes into
the second. Capsule settled. Checker fakes.kin fires. Glove. Save. Wool. Goilier. Heads up.
Playing a two-man game with Carlson. Rotate it around. Get the pass and fire. Blocked there
and covered by Wool who stepped out on the angle. Loose biscuit belongs to the Maple Leafs.
Tvaris with a rip off the defender and covered up. LT brushes this one to
the corner. Tvaris setting a screen. Stetcher played it back to the point. McMahon
covering up for him. Matt Roy in his second full season with Washington. He’ll see his former
mates the Kings in this week ahead. Tricker with a blast. Wool confidently makes that save and too
many goals. So because of that the discussion is, hey boys, we have to be all back. We’ve got to
be above the puck or below the puck at every situation and not be chasing the puck ahead of the
play coming out of the zone. Protest swatting that one out of the air right to Wool. Ovetchkin has
a twoon-one development. Alex Ovetkin with Dylan Stro. Ovetkin feeds. Stro waits. A pad save for
Wool. He’s dead tired. He’s got to get off. And they’re going to make a quick change. Dane for
Washington. Threeon three. Overlapping Mcichael. Fires off the inside of the post. Good thrust here
by the captain. Consecutive shift. Wilson tease this one up. Send it on back. Nice pass. Carlson
closing. Stopped by Wall. Rebound blocked away by the Maple Leaf defense. It was a wide open net
too coming off the stick of John Carlson. Carlson settles. Work it back one time. Wilson stopped.
Rebound doorstep. Score. Mcichel on the followup. Soup. What happens is they get the goal
and they’re back in this hockey game. Great puck movement. Wall a great save. That
one he can’t come up with. Moving laterally, the Caps were storming the net. The Leafs were
reeling on the long chains. The second periods have not been good this season for Toronto. A
ton of goals against not too many for. That’s a bad combination. The cap second periods have
been very good. Conor Mcichael chippine and Van Reike playing catch. Leonard waits as they stretch
out the defenders. Cross ice. Who made a good pad stop there and you get chance after chance. Here’s
a nice little play. Conor Mcichael flying in off the shoulder and bar out. Good opportunity. Ryan
Leonard going across the ice there. And that’s right off the white. Matias Michelli towards the
front looking for a tip in from Dakota Joshua. No sail. Mcichael skating extremely well. Cuts
to the middle, feeds, finds Leonard. Drive, snappy glove save. Wool. He made it look easy.
Yeah, that’s the attack you want to see. Cleanly through there. Conor Mcichael finds the late
guy coming through two different sticks. Brian Leonard a good looking shot. You know, just to
follow up on the assistant coach with Al Ko. And after last game, Carbury said, “We’re doing the
right things. We’re playing the right way. We’re controlling play.” And now they’re starting to
get results. Ovichkin, bad pass there. Breakin chance alone on the forehand. Glove save.
Thompson robs Tavaris for his 13th goal. And at the end of the line on both breakaways the
Leafs have had, it’s been Logan Thompson. Look at that. Him secure that puck. Oie trying to feather
that to Dylan Stro as running mate. What a stop by Logan Thompson just staying with that puck
and that’s an excellent that’s a game changer [Applause] that sailed wide. Big rebound lively
off the boards. Stro forkin back door ties it at two. [Applause] The puck feeds Obi and then feeds Bilier. Watch
the lift check right there. Right between the legs of the veteran Ecman Larrison to Obi. The
vision to find his running mate Bilier. But it all starts with a puck recovery. The oldfashioned
lift check against the veteran defenseman. Isolation of Alex finding the running mate Bil
able. 5 minutes and 10 seconds left to settle this one in regulation. Maple Leafs off the turnover.
Lorent nice send in here and the backhand just wide by Lton. W backhand goes through the
paint. Mcichael fast feet today. Leonard holds. Give it back to Mcichael. He’ll create
saucer pass. Leonard cross ice one time. Jacob. He is hotter than anybody. You’ll see Ryan Leonard
get it. You’ll see back away from the defense and up into the top corner it goes before Stetcher
can close the gap on him. A little fade away. The slapper beats the goalender clean. That
lateral pass up from Matthews playing goalie there. 40 seconds left. Matthews on the feed.
Cowan forced to the boards by Leonard. Cowen drops it. Snap shot. Glove. Save. Logan Thompson. Robs.
Nice. He gets it. Highscoring district. That is highway robbery. Nice trying to go top corner. The
glove was He’ll jam it up. Tie it up as long as he can. Final 10 ticks. Leaf trying to pitchfork
it free. It comes loose. It’s ripped towards the empty cage. Bullseye. Tom Wilson. And Washington’s
going to get out of here with a victory. But it all stems to the right of the goalender,
Logan Thompson. Talk about wanting to win this game. There’s three guys, four guys. Wilson’s
waiting as the extra just in case they get it out of the crease. They do get a huge win here on home
ice for the good guys. They defeat the Leaf 4 to2. Wilson, who has been leading the league in third
period goals, gets the insurance marker at 1958.

  1. I was there right in person right behind the goalie. Caps fans morale support + Thompson won that game. It wasn't a Leafs choke, Thompson just made great saves

  2. I'm from MTL, moved to Ont as a kid. I stopped watching because it was more Coronation Street…a soap opera. Bergevin first came in and said "We have a five year plan" the fact he got hired with such an antiquated plan escapes me. Therrien and Julien couldn't bring the team up to Subbans ability. Take WSH as an example. They had to really make smart moves to get to Ovechkin's pace.
Subban was the biggest mouth, yet the quietest player Markov and PK got along great. Coaches should have noticed the chemistry between them.

  3. Молодцы .Никогда не надо опускать руки ,что Вашингтон прекрасно продемонстрировал .Хорошая ,волевая победа .Только хотелось чтобы ошибок при передачах было бы поменьше .
