Not A SINGLE Cleveland Browns Fan Saw This Coming… What Are The Browns Doing?

[Music] [Music] What are the Cleveland Browns doing? Not a single Cleveland Browns fan, I think, saw this year’s plan coming. And the Browns never fail to make you question their decisions. But what was the thought process this year? We’re going to talk about it on the show. But first, to all of our lovely subscribers, we’re over 62,000 subs now. Only 10.8% 20% of them have notifications turned on. All notifications. Join the noty gang if you want to be in the know. You’ll get a notification as soon as we make a video. That way, you’ll be the first to know things. Impress your friends with how much you know about the Cleveland Browns by joining the NY gang. Hit that button. We appreciate all of you. And I am your host, Joey O’Donn. All right. All right, if we go back to the preeason for the Cleveland Browns, their depth chart had four quarterbacks on it, right? Five if you count Deshun Watson. Flaco was the starter. Picket was the two. They were sort of battling it out to be QB1. And then you had drafted two rookie quarterbacks, both Dylan Gabriel and Shador Sanders, who was quarterback four at the time. And what is I think maybe hindsight’s always 2020, but what makes this awful is Flaco and Picket got all of the reps in preeason. Both of them are not on the roster as we speak. And so the two rookies that you drafted and probably need the most development other than a 40-year-old veteran didn’t get any of the reps before the year. And now you’re looking at your current starting quarterback was quarterback four before the year started and didn’t get a single rep. He didn’t get a single rep with the once until he was thrown into a game. What was the Browns plan in all of that? Because it seems there’s some disconnect. Before the season had started, Jimmy Hasslam told us when he was asked about needing to see both rookie quarterbacks play this year. He said, “Absolutely. Kevin is aware of that.” So, Stfansky knows that, right? I guess everybody in the organization is supposed to know that we’re going to see both rookie quarterbacks. yet neither of them were getting reps in preseason because you had two quite frankly random veterans on the roster. Flaco maybe made sense, but why did you have Flaco and Picket and draft two rookie quarterbacks? What was the plan here? And I think there’s a clear disconnect, as I said, with the Cleveland Browns and the front office, the coach, and everybody because Flaco and getting all of those reps, taking them away from the rookies, that led to Flaco being the week one starter, and Stfansky said that Flacco earned the starting quarterback job. Okay, so we were under the impression that preseason was a true quarterback battle, a quarterback competition, right? And then Flaco won that competition. Well, he’s not on the roster anymore. The Browns traded Flaco and they didn’t tell Kevin Stfansky this. He said after it he was shocked, quote, shocked when Flaco was traded. So, Hamm wants both rookies to start. Flaco started and Stfansky said Flaco earned the job, now he’s gone. I mean, seriously, is anybody talking to each other, communicating? What was the Cleveland Browns plan going into the season, folks? You tell me. And then we get made fun of by a division rival head coach, but for for trading Flaco. Mike Tomlin sounded off and was like, I don’t understand it if I’m being honest. So now we’re a joke and nobody’s talking to each other. And finally, Shador, your starting quarterback at the moment, never got a single rep with the first teams. This is what we’re looking at for this season, ladies and gentlemen. Make that make sense. What were we doing? Your starting quarterback is now Shador. He was quarterback four before the year had even started. And Shador, I think, even knows this last part of it. I mean, after he got the big win against the Raiders, he went out there and said, “A win is crazy. It’s amazing.” After one week of practice, this is one week of practice. So imagine what a full off season would look like. It gets dangerous. Come on. Brown says that’s got to fire you up, man. That’s got to fire you up. Imagine what he can do if he did have a full season of preparation from the Cleveland Browns. Not whatever that mess I just showed you was. He went out there and got a win after one week of practice. I mean, that is that is big time. It’s never been done since 99 Browns quarterback in their first start. So, I think there’s a point to be made about that. Like what if what if they actually did develop Shador from day one and maybe if he shows us some stuff in these next few starts, maybe they actually will develop him fully like he said and like he wants to be in this off season and we could really test him out, give him a fair shot because looking back now having two older quarterbacks get all the reps when you have two rookies on the roster make that make sense. And then Andrew Barry doesn’t want to speak to the media on the by-week. I mean, he’s always gone to speak on the buy for six years. All of a sudden, I I don’t want to answer any questions. Maybe Shador was Andrew Barry’s pick and he doesn’t want to have to talk about this because everyone’s on the different page, folks. That’s where we are. Like, get it together. Stfansky picked Gabriel. He started Gabriel. Now, I think the ownership is saying, “All right, Kevin, we gave you your chance with your guy. You better start Shador.” The city of Cleveland is rallying around him. He just got the win against the Raiders. It’s a no-brainer that you have to start him now after he got that W. And as I’ve been saying since April, Chador is clearly the better prospect. I like I said that in the draft. I think you saw that in his one start. Better arm strength. He’s a bigger quarterback, a little more mobile as well. Like get it together, Cleveland Browns. bad evaluation that Dylan Gabriel was the starter over Shador. Anyways, that was the fans pick. Who’s talking to each other? Who’s on the same page? We have no idea. Who’s to blame? You tell me in the comments section. If you think Jimmy Hasslam is the biggest problem, type JH. If you think Andrew Barry’s responsible for this mess, type AB. Or if you think it’s the head coach, Kevin Stfansky, type KS. Who are you blaming for this honestly mismanaged quarterback situation where everyone that got reps is no longer on the roster and now the young rookies are being thrown into the fire. Let me know who you think is the blame. Coming up the back half of the show, how has this now affected the season? And I think this is a result of both rookies not getting any reps and now all of a sudden are the only two quarterbacks on the active roster. It was very evident with Dylan Gabriel week after week after week. I mean, very short passes, five yards per attempt. And this is where I also get on Stfansky. the rookies were just not properly developed. I mean, especially Shadore, the fact that he is your starting quarterback right now and had never even been in a position to see game time until two weeks ago is ludicrous. And people also on social media, this circulating now, it’s the fanciest little postgame locker room victory speech where he barely acknowledged Shadore. I mean, he goes around, hypes everybody else up, gives out a game ball to the defense, and then says, “Andor, nice job.” And everyone’s like, “Dude, what are you doing?” He didn’t give a game ball to Dylan Gabriel in his first win either. Like, I just don’t think he’s the best coach for young quarterbacks, quite frankly, and bringing the most out of them. You know, from a personal relationship part of it as well. And so this year you’ve seen a lot of screens, a lot of dump offs, conservative football that has gotten us angry and gotten us like we can’t move the ball at all. Our defense is hard carrying. Uh Dylan Gabriel when he was out there was averaging 5.9 intended air yards. That is the worst in the NFL amongst every single quarterback that’s played this year. I’m not kidding. It’s according to NextGen stats. And that’s why when Shadore went out there and had that dot to Isaiah Bond that traveled 42 airs, the longest airy yard completion of the Cleveland Browns season. Yeah, no wonder I’m going to be hyped up and fired up about that. I’ve watched every Browns game. You guys are watching them with me and we haven’t seen that. So when he goes out there and does it in his first start, you’re dang right I’m going to go over here and hype it up. We hadn’t seen it all all season long and this is the situation and scheme that we’re dealing with here, folks. Also, it’s becoming pretty predictable. I mean, you’ve got Quinn Sean Judkins, absolute stud. We love him as a rookie running back, but what happening is he is facing eight plus defenders in the box over 45% of the time. That’s more than any other player in the NFL sees. It’s crazy. Teams know what to do. Stack the box. It’s easy to figure out. And that’s why our offense the last two years under Stfansky has been the worst in the league at points per games. 15.2 last year. This year 16.9 that’s 29th. Teams know what to do against us because the game plans are conservative. And so I think we need a little fresh change of scenery to develop a quarterback like Shadore who does take deep shots and averaged over 10 yards per attempt in that Raiders game. double what Gabriel was doing. So, what do you think? How do we fix this mess, Browns fans? What is the number one thing that Cleveland needs to do in the off season to get right and get better offense to help out the defense that we have? I mean, really, that defense is one of the top D’s in the league. Pause. So, hit that subscribe button, folks. Thank you so much for tuning in to this edition of the Browns Report. 1. Dawg Pound, got something to say? LET'S HEAR IT:
    – What’s the #1 thing the Browns need to do in the offseason?

  2. Kevin Stefanski is the blame. He constantly placed Dillion Gabriel as QB1 over Shedeur Sanders. Shedeur clearly has the better arm talent and accuracy. Sheer should’ve gotten more reps with the team to build cohesion and timing with the starters. Gabriel got 1st team reps all season and fail to improve from game to game. We need to give Shedeur an opportunity to be QB1 for the remaining season. Hope Shedeur lead the Browns to 9-8 win/lose record this year. I’d love to see the Browns reach the playoffs with Shedeur as QB1.

  3. Joey they screwed it up… Shaduer shouldda been day 1 starter.. we would be in the Playoff hunt for sure.. the preseason wasn’t a fair QB competition.. no way Stefanski can’t identify QBs or he had it in for sheduer no way he couldn’t see he was our best chance to win…

  4. Fire Stefanski he’s against a black QB I’m not racist at all in fact I’m a 65 year old athlete..former.. he’s an idiot fire his Ass… Gabriel shouldn’t have Ben QB 5 let alone QB 1/2 disgusting…

  5. Let me lay this out. (I am a Shedeur fan boy). They have more money invested in Dillion. Remember the quote, "follow the money" More money, more opportunity. Dillion is a rookie so he needs ALL the reps he can get whenever he can get them. Dillion is a lefty, why let a righty in the practice to confuse the receivers, meaning the ball spins in different directions. Dillon looked good in college and threw deep balls. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist! The team needs to see if that will translate into the NFL. It did not! OK another costly mistake, but the team now has a last option, the qb, who in college play, would not work in the NFL. Being trying to run away from a sack. I don't believe they worked with Shedeur to correct these tendencies as he was running the opposing teams scheme. So enough already, drop the loss of reps line because it did not make sense for the situation they were in. We are in a new situation, they are working with him, how about concentration on what they are doing now and not the past.

  6. Let's hope , like the Old saying goes"the Best is yet to come" just gotta believe and hope it all works out. Go Browns!! Cleveland Browns will be a good team one day

  7. The coach is usually the scapegoat sometimes it’s not his fault but it’s time for stefanski to go. I do believe we hired him for offense. And I blame Berry for not getting some OL. That’s 2yrs in a row he failed. But stefanski has to go

  8. The story about KS not knowing about the Flacco trade in advance is mind boggling. That is definitely a sign of disfunction in the organization and likely that disfunction led to the mess we have seen. Using hindsight, Flacco should not have played one snap, since they ended up trading him mid season. The rookies should have taken them. As far as blame, it’s a combo of KS and AB. It’s their job to make the QB selection process make sense, not the owner.

  9. It's Kevin's fault he gave reps to Dillon 1 St team reps since training camp. KS lied about the QB comp. Shadeur won the QB battle it was obvious on daily reports. Dillon was chosen but didn't earn QB1. He kept Dillon out there losing games. Shedeur was a projected 1st round talent and pretending DG was better than him was disrespectful and disingenuous. Dillon is not a starter and KS knew it. even though he could've been winning games he let the team loser do house pick could play. Excuse 3td round picks are better than 5 the round picks. He doesn't deserve any respect because he doesn't respect his players. FIRE STEFANSKI TODAY. HE LET THE TEAM LOSE GAMES SO HE WOULDN'T HAVE TO PLAY Shedeur or her was tanking the season to draft new QBs.

  10. If Tommy Rees doesnt stop A gap blitz sunday he needs to be fired.
Ravens and Raiders both crushed it. DG concussion was on an A gap blitz. Shedeurs 53 yder to Bond was on an A gap blitz, except Shedeur recognized it and bailed out the OC with a helluva throw.
Dudes been OC for 3 weeks and hes gonna get our qbs killed.

  11. KS. He’s had baker and Deshaun. He can’t get them to shine? He couldn’t get prime Odell the ball? It’s something we constantly overlooked and is becoming more apparent. He can’t develop QBs and his playbook has fiddled away. KS needs gone, need to draft a WR early and trade/pick a young, stud WR in free agency with it. Most importantly: Draft. A. Tackle. First. Round. Don’t take a QB please

  12. ks/ jh—mostly KEVIN STEFANSKI no question. Team would BE IN MUCH BETTER POSITION WITH DIFFERENT HEAD COACH. PICK A NAME out of a helmet of top h lf dozen prospects. Guarantee… Browns better off. Barry is great gm!!! he's saving this team.

  13. I said it before the draft, during the draft, and I'll say it now. My Raiders made a huge mistake not taking Shedeur. We should also hire Deion immediately. Lastly, trade for Travis Hunter and let this light it up in silver and black!

  14. He earn that last year but Flacco didn't earn it in training camp, Flacco barely got rep. What tf training camp you watched 🤦🏾🤷🏾‍♂️😂😂😂😂

  15. Cedric Tillman and JJ not used to running real routes anymore after 6 games of DG. I think they will finally start showing their true potential again with SS slinging the rock. But for real, KS gotta go before we see some real success and chemistry with this team as a whole. TRUTH!!
