  1. I know a lot of us were up in arms about some of the things Hal had to say but Jfc none are as bad as saying “we’ll see what they do next year” when talking about the dodgers

That’s what you said last year and what you saw was them fucking winning again

  2. “We made a competitive offer on PLAYER X, but their representation felt differently”

  3. I have a feeling this is an “empty handed” offseason. Get ready for it. Embrace it. It’s inevitable.

  4. Weak willed, spoiled twat

I know that’s not totally fair. He spends. 300 mil should get you a title or two.

Oh wait, it is totally fair because if you keep spending like that and failing but you refuse to change people at the higher levels and instead fire low level coaches, you are a weak willed spoiled twat.

He either doesn’t have the competitive spirit to go all in or he doesn’t have the back bone to fire Cashman and Co.

So he will do the exact same thing, again.

    Weak willed, spoiled twat.

  5. Here’s something we all have to accept. Most high priced free agents are going to want us overpay. The Yankees don’t want to overpay anymore. I don’t believe a majority of them want to come to New York, but will if they’re overpaid and they leverage that position against the Yankees. For the Yankees, they either eat a bad contract while hoping it pays off, or lose out on a good chunk of the free agents because they don’t want to overpay anymore.

  6. I think aside from bullpen arms, or a mid-range starter, and back up catcher, I’m not sure what else they’d do in FA. They’re set in the OF now with Judge, Grish, and some version of Jasson/Jones. They’re set in the IF with Rice, Jazz, Caballero, McMahon (Waldo utility, with Volpe coming back at some point). Set at starting C with Wells.

When I say “set,” I’m not saying I love all of the options I listed. I’m just trying to be realistic in the way I feel like they’ll approach this.

  7. Yanks will sign player A, which will get fans excited while still leaving gaping holes they failed to address and will be good enough to make the playoffs and then Cashman will spend the trade deadline trying to fill in the gaps he never addressed in the off season, rinse and repeat

  8. My biggest issue with Hal isn’t his spending – he clearly does. It’s that he constantly bitches about spending, payroll, luxury tax, profit, revenue, etc…but continues to employ Cashman and put complete, undying trust in him. Hal says he shouldn’t need to spend $300 million to win, which yeah sure. But you keep employed a guy who spends more than that to NOT WIN a championship and poorly allocates your funds. You were just paying a boatload to not play Hicks, Stroman, and DJ by the end of the season.

So spare me your complaints about spending when you refuse to do anything to actually address it or hold the person who spends your money inefficiently accountable.
