Houston Astros Signing Ryan Weiss??

Yo, what’s going on guys? This is Houston Sports Talk back in another video today and today we’re going to be talking about the Houston Astros potentially signing Ryan Weiss. It seems like the Astros are close to signing Ryan Weiss. It’s been reported that the Astros are nearing a deal with the KBO pitcher now. Very interesting. Ryan Weiss is a KBO pitcher, but he’s not he’s not Korean. He’s he’s he’s American and but he was locked down in the KBO last year. He’s a starter. He’s 28 years old. actually was he’s been on an MLB roster before, but but did not play in the MLB. He was on the Royals roster, but never played an MLB game. The highest he got to was AAA with Kansas City’s AAA team and did really bad there. But then switches to KBO and he’s been really good in the KBO. Like last year in the KBO had a 2.87 87 RA 16-5 record, 30 games, 30 starts, 179 innings, giving up 57 earned runs, and 207 strikeouts. And I got to mention the the hitters in the KBO are extremely talented. I mean, like that and that’s exactly why they competed with the US. I mean like they are they are extremely talented in the KBO and that’s why you continue to see you know hitters from the KBO get to get into the MO and make a fortune in free agency. So I think it’s really good to to be a you know a successful starter in the KBO for a guy like Ryan Weiss you know who had a 2.87 RA in in the KBO and was very successful. Those are those are hard hitters that he’s facing. So, it’s it’s not like it’s no talent that he’s facing. What I do find weird is how he went from pitching so horrible in AAA in 2023. He was with the Kansas City Royals AAA team and with them he, you know, had a 7.07 RA in 12 games, pitched 14 innings, gave up 11 earned runs with 15 strikeouts. So, was pitching awful with, you know, the the Royals AAA squad. And then he goes to the KBO 2024 2025 and he’s pitching some great baseball. You know, he 2024 the RA in 2024 was, you know, 3 point uh sorry, 2024 the RA was 3.73. Then that went down uh to 2.87 and in in 2025. So uh he’s been great starting there. And the Astros obviously need a starting pitcher, but is this an answer for a starting pitcher over the Astros? Another big question of mine is what’s going to be the cost for for the Astros to to land a guy like Ryan Weiss who’s played so good in the KBL. So you guys give me your thoughts in the comment section and peace out. Go ast.

What do you think about the potential signing??
