Whole article is worth a read but extremely unlikely Becton is back next season

  1. Yeah, it is probably in the interest of all parties to go their different ways this offseason. We save 10 million against the cap by cutting him and he just hasn’t been a 10 million a year player, between his performance and availability

  2. He must not know of Harbaugh’s best man up philosophy. Gotta be available and have the Harbaugh mentality. He just hasn’t been good.

  3. /u/A_Livins I posted a tweet quoting this article an hour ago please explain why my post was hidden

  4. Hopefully Hortiz learns from the Bears. You can sign multiple starters in one offseason. Replace bad players man you have to at least try.

  5. Becton wasn’t very good in his few years with the Jets either. In Philly the rest of the O-line made him look good. Your poor play doesn’t get masked when you have Bozeman and whoever the fuck at right tackle on either side of you

  6. The dude does not love football. He did what he did in a crucial year for the Eagles and got paid. But we’ve seen players yelling at him about coming out of the game for a finger injury etc.

It’s so frustrating knowing that Thuney and Dalman were both available and we didn’t sign either of them. After yesterday’s game the Bears now have the #1 ranked offensive line in the league. It just goes to show how important the Center and Guard positions are. The Bears went from the bottom of that division to potentially winning the division and a lot of that credit goes to the Bears run game and the time Caleb has had to throw in the pocket.

  8. I feel like mentally this dude is just off and performance aside I don’t think he’s a good asset because of that.

  9. Went from being the weakest link on an insanely stacked OL, to being the second best player on this OL with Alt out

  10. Weird to bitch about not getting to play without explanation when A) he’s been hurt and off the field often and B) not been good really all year when on the field. Take your stolen paycheck and hope to get a new contract elsewhere and quit the saving face act, everyone knows what Becton is now.

  11. What the entire truth is here will likely never be known but, if a player appears slow to react or guard, or walks off repeatedly and needs oxygen, it’s a liability.  Trying to imagine him playing in Mile-High thin-air Denver stadium.  How will he respond to playing against the Eagles.  True that learning new schemes, losing the Tackles along with the fluctuation of players at Oline would be a challenge.  But, I think there’s responsibility he can take for his physical and mental readiness to play.
