How do we feel about Jackson Jobe’s future?

  1. Hopefully a Rick Porcello trajectory IMO. Top half of the rotation pitcher with Cy Young potential in his statistically best seasons.

  2. I’m still optimistic that he’s going to be good. It’s harder to project right now, though.

  3. Very cool looking card. Unfortunately there is a caveat.

Check out the people that stole Bob Ross’s name and cut out his family. Complete ghouls.

  4. I feel like he’s going to still be great, he’s only 23 and damn near every pitcher gets Tommy John’s now

  5. Hoping he can still be an ace #1. Especially if we lose Skubal. I’m still really high on Jobe. The competitive fire is there. We’ve seen it. A lot of pitchers come back from this fine. High hopes for Jobe.

  6. If his fastball improves and he gets more strikeouts, an ace. If not, middling starter or middle reliever.

  7. If his fastball velo doesn’t regress after Tommy John’s then I think he could be a 2-3 starter

  8. Guys tend to come back better after Tommy John so I’d say it’s at least decent. I still think he was somehow tipping pitches because his stuff is too good not to get strikeouts.

  9. Who knows. Might not really see him till 2028 depending on his recovery next season and a looming lock out in 2027

  10. I think he’ll be a fine starter at minimum, but if he’s going to unlock his potential, he’s going to have to continue learning how to pitch instead of throw. A lot of his stuff looks great on paper against air with the cameras tracking spin, but it doesn’t fool hitters like you’d expect it to. He’s very young and has plenty of time to do that.

  11. I think he’s going to be a really good starter. It might take some time, but he’s got the raw stuff and getting Tommy John is basically pitcher puberty, so I’m not really worried about him

  12. He’s struggled above AA.

Only 7 K/9 and almost 5 BB/9 in the majors is concerning.

Pitching prospects are not sure things

But he has time to try to get it together

  13. He’s so young. He’s got to learn to control that tremendous natural spin. Once he gets the hang of it, he’ll be throwing Whiffle balls. Absurd strikeout potential. Might help yo ask Skubal about his changeup while he’s still around.
