This proves EXACTLY why they are so dangerous…

This just showed exactly what makes the Spurs so dangerous. As the depth comes through with the Spurs getting an incredibly unlikely win of Group C, it’s Devin Vel who is the star of the show. But there was contributions from everyone up and down the lineup and with the Spurs team still without Stfan Castle and Victor Webinama to come out of this group to go into the quarterfinals of the tournament is absolutely insane. and we have to break down what happened and the big implications this has on the future of the Spurs, not only in the NBA Cup, which of course is the most important championship you can win this year, but on the entire future of the Spurs organization, how this is a huge turning point for Devin Vel. Let’s hop into this. Look, this is the box score. I’m sure you guys are familiar with it by now. like this is the next day, but there’s more implications to this than just the game. And I’m not going to focus this too much on what happened in the game. You guys know that we’re here to talk about the implications for the future of the Spurs. And the big story is the fact that we won the group on the backs of the depth, right? Julian Champeni putting up 25 points. Fox with 15 and 12, not his best shooting night. Still chipping in with some assists. Deon Vel with 35 points. This might be in a minus 14. but the bench as well. And I want to quickly give a big shout out to Dylan Harper cuz he was huge in this. And correct me if I’m wrong down below. I know we all always love correcting someone, right? Down below. I think we’re undefeated when Dylan Harper plays at least 15 minutes. I think I saw that floating around last night. Could not find that this morning. Hard to find that stat, but as far as I’m aware, I think we’re seven and0 when Dylan Harper plays at least 15 minutes. And boy, did he ever have a big impact on the game yesterday. But look, right now, the number three seed in the NBA Cup. Now, what does this mean for the Spurs? Well, it means that we’re going to face the Lakers, I believe, December 10th on prime in that quarterfinal matchup. And these are some good teams here. Now, the Suns have kind of had our number a little bit. So, have the Lakers. Well, maybe the Lakers refs have had the Spurs number. And look, this game against the Lakers is going to be a huge test for San Antonio for multiple reasons. Now, one reason is that when we played them last time, the Lakers certainly got the more favorable of the two whistles. And in this game here versus the Nuggets, well, look, it was pretty even on the free throw attempts in the game. But in that second half, it was the Spurs who really led it, right? Coming back from an 18-point deficit, we really got back to our game going hard at the basket, knocking down some threes, which is very important. 17 for 42. Still not even like a crazy crazy shooting night. It was pretty even with the Nuggets, but we held our own, but getting to the free throw line and making it is what has really contributed a lot to the Spurs success. And it’s why the Spurs came out of the group of death, which is insane. Like no one except for us Spurs fans could have predicted that we would have come out of this. Everyone was saying like this is going to be tough. But right now, we’ll get to Deon Vel in just a bit. This is a bit of a teaser for some crazy Devin Vel stuff. But look, the Spurs have beaten this year, the Raptors, who have 14 wins, who are looking to take the NBA Cup out of the East. The Nuggets who we just beat 13 wins. The Heat 13 wins. The Rockets 12 wins. the Hawks going to get that revenge game on the Lakers, too. Stop sleeping on the Spurs. And I think that’s an easy thing to do. I think it’s really easy for some people to start sleeping on the San Antonio Spurs because we’ve been without Victor. Well, that side, Victor Wignyama. We just got Dylan Harper back. We’ve been without Stefan Castle. We’ve been without Manu Genobi, of course, on the court for too many years. Can I just say that? I’m so Anyway, at least we’re seeing some shades of him with Dylan Harper. But right now, this is a turning point for San Antonio. And if we look at the play, oh, not that. That’s some hockey stuff. Wrong button. We got Devin Vel. If you like hockey, hey, check out my other channel. But we got Devin Vel knocking down so many threes. And like I said, Champenni knocking him down was a huge part, too. Even Sohan chipping in a bit. Cornet getting his buckets. It was the Devin Vel show tonight. And we’ll get back to this. He’s now moved into fourth all time for Spurs. Three-point field goals made. He just passed Bruce Bowen. And now the three guys ahead of him. Little ways to go, you know, like definitely a little ways to go. And I’m sure Wemb is going to try catching up to this fairly soon, but 662 made threes for the San Antonio Spurs. Devin Vel, he’s now up to 40% on the season. Like, that is crazy, right? He started this season pretty rough. And I want to just say, right, I love this tweet from Devin Vel. The work will always show. Haters always are going to always hate. Great team win and go Spurs go. Can I just say that since I made this video saying the hate was getting completely out of hand. Like you could see these tweets that if you didn’t watch this video, go watch it and see what some people were saying about Devin Vel. Look, I think I could agree like it was tough to see his performance relative to his contract, but it was getting crazy. I knew where he could bounce back to. He was not healthy last year. This is his first time really getting back into the groove of things. And look what he’s done in the last two games. Since this video, he has gone on to have two incredible performances, including this nutty performance. 12 for 17 from the field, 7 for9 from three, now up above 40% from three on the season on route to the Spurs, winning group C. 35.0 turnovers. What a game from him. And again, it’s more than just what Devin Vel brings. It’s the message that this sends as to why the Spurs are scary because on a night again, you don’t have Victor Webyama, you don’t have Stfan Castle, De’aran Fox, your other guy who has been a star, a stud since Wemby has been out. He didn’t have his best shooting night and you know Champeni was doing decent stuff but the bench they were chipping in not getting a ton of points. 14 from Kell, 11 from Dylan Harper’s good. It was Devin Vel who could step up and this to me is a pretty big message that when the team is fully healthy you have so many guys that could go off for 20 30 points any given night. I mean if we look at this roster here and we just look at all the guys. How many guys can get 20 on any given night? Champenny’s done it a few times already this year which is kind of crazy to say. He’s been getting to the free throw line. Also, shout out to Champenni for his rebounds. 25 and 10. Incredible. Harrison Barnes has had a couple games putting the Spurs on his back already. Cornet always efficient. D’arren Fox easily can get 20 or 30. Vel easily 20 or 30. So, uh, not So, sorry. Kell Johnson could easily chip in for 15 or 20 off the bench and we know what Dylan Harper brings. So despite not having a lot of your best guys and having guys like Dylan Harper needing to step up, Julian Champy needing to step up, when you have Victor Wyama and Stfan Castle back in this rotation, the Spurs threats go from like all the way to the top to the bottom of the lineup. Like I just How many different 20 point threats do we have? Like legit ones. Harrison Barnes, Julian Champeni I have to include because like how many points is he averaging now? Only 11. But still Champ I got to get back to this now. There we go. Champi putting up 20 in a few games this year. Harrison Barnes, Julian Champeni, D’Arren Fox, Devin Vel, uh Kell Johnson sort of, so let’s maybe leave him off, but Stefan Castle, Victor Winyama, and then you still have guys like Kell Johnson and Dylan Harper who definitely could. And that’s eight, right? So that is a big message as to why the Spurs are going to do some incredible things. So right now, I am just excited. I’m riding high and the NBA should be scared of this version of the Spurs because coming together as a team like this playing your game after being down 18 in the third quarter. It was like halfway through the third we were down 16 or 18. To come back not even in the game, but to come back in that third quarter alone just based off your team playing even when your star point guard is not getting it going, that is incredible.
