Well, the NFL did it: NFL fines 49ers receiver Jauan Jennings for scuffle with Tre’von Moehrig

  1. That’ll teach him to protect his balls. Next time just take the punch to the dick and smile.

  2. If he retaliated immediately, I can see them avoiding the fine.

It happened well after though so it’s shitty but I kinda get it

  3. I can see NFL doesn’t want retaliation but I feel that if Jauan didn’t do what he did, it would not have come to light what Moehrig did.

NFL is like if no one see a punch, did it happen? They only do something when it comes to light.

  4. NFL should have a rule where they review such ‘dick punch’ or any form of cheapshot complaints. If confirmed, the receiving player should get a free shot. And that ‘play’ will take place during a play stoppage in the middle of the field. 1:1 with none one else allowed around 10yds of these two.

That’s one way to put an end to these cheapshot mofos!

  5. $12,172

I feel like the refs should pay that fine. There was a ref right next to Jauan when he got punched and Jauan said something to the ref who took no action.

If the refs aren’t going to penalize it then they’re just asking for players to self regulate.

  6. I think suspending Moehrig and fining Jennings was the right call. It’d be different if Jennings retaliated in the moment.

  7. Whatever. I understand they want to discourage fighting even when it’s otherwise justified. Hopefully the team does him a solid and covers it.

  8. This is just the same thing that happens in school. Do you remember getting into fights and it didn’t matter to the teacher who started it? You’re both getting suspended. At least the NFL dealt out consequences of different severity here.

  9. The NFL announced on Tuesday that Moehrig was suspended without pay for one game for an act of unsportsmanlike conduct. The league ruled that Moehrig violated Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1, which addresses “any act which is contrary to the generally understood principles of sportsmanship,” including, among others, “throwing a punch, or a forearm, or kicking at an opponent.”

Moehrig’s appeal was denied, and he must sit out the Panthers’ game Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.

  10. It would be a bad look for the NFL if they didn’t at least fine him. The fact that they didn’t suspend him actually shows whose side the league is on.

  11. whew… rules, fines… I watched a womans rugby game, looked more violent than todays nfl… Dick Butcus? Matt Millan? Hacksaw Renalds.. Ronnie? whew… oh well, move on…

  12. The NFL every year gives me more and more reasons to hate the NFL and stop watching. And it is almost always about officiating. I have no problems with officials in any other sport.

  13. Of course they did. I would have gladly paid 12k to knock the shit out of someone who hit me in the nuts too
