NYR vs TBL: J.T. Miller, V. Trocheck & M. Zibanejad Postgame Media Availability | Nov. 29, 2025
What made it difficult for you guys to find your rhythm today? Uh we did it to ourselves. Um there was no urgency today. We were uh dipped our toe into the game. Got outplayed basically the whole time. Uh it’s unacceptable. Started to develop a standard and an identity around here and that was certainly not it. The goal at the start of the third period right after you kill off that penalty, was that deflating for your group at the time? Kind of hard to to rebound after that. Uh yeah. I mean that’s a big part of the game. we get the kill against a good good power player, you know, one of the most dangerous players in the league. And um I don’t know exactly what happened, but we can’t give up one right there. So, but uh that being said, it was still a twogoal game the whole rest of it. And I still think that they probably outplayed us the rest of the way. So, um it’s just not nearly good enough um at home. Uh for some reason, we were very content with not bringing our a game right now. Uh it’s disappointing and you know, starts with me. Got to be better and lead better and um just can’t have this anymore. It’s it’s frustrating. just lopsided shots as well for for you guys. What did Tampa do well to make it difficult to get those great A chances? Well, they won every battle. They competed, they skated faster, and they executed better. So, uh, when that’s happening, you’re just chasing the game. JT, the start, I mean, did it feel like you guys just couldn’t recover from that? Is it, you know, I know the schedule’s been crazy recently, but they’re obviously dealing with kind of a similar schedule. What do you attribute just the way that you guys kind of weren’t able to recover after that bad start? Just just will and uh determination, and they were more willful than we were today. They were ready to go into every battle. They won every battle it seemed like for 30 minutes. We had a good 10 minutes, I think, to end the second. Had some momentum building, came back alive a little bit, get the kill, and then give up another one and just deflating. So, um, at no point in that game were we deserving of of winning. Shusty does everything he can to keep it close. So, with the way that things, especially at home, have gone, does it feel like it kind of snowballs? Like kind does negativity start to creep in? Is it hard to fight that off? Um, I don’t know. I think it’s different for every player. It’s it’s a I’ve talked about it a few times, but this game’s majority mental and I think it’s up to you to kind of fight off the the negativity whenever there’s something creeping into your mind, but um I don’t know. I don’t think so. I think it’s just a matter of us playing the right way. JT talks about will. I mean, does it feel like that is is first and foremost or are there do you look at execute execution side of things as well because it just felt like you guys couldn’t really clear pucks, couldn’t get out of your own zone? like a lot of that just looked like it wasn’t really connected. I think more so it was just they outworked us in the first period than than execution. I think it’s a lot harder to execute whenever you’re getting outworked and beat the pucks and and you’re under duress majority of the time. So, um I think it goes back to outworkingness. Vinnie, just with the next few games here, obviously you guys look at one game at a time, but I think it’s eight of the next 11 games at home. Have you guys talked at all about just trying to write the ship in this building this year? I mean, with how it’s been so far? No, I I don’t think any of us are focusing on that. I think it’s just like I’ve talked about before, focusing on one game at a time. Nice to be home for a little while. You got a power play there late, but you don’t have Adam at the point. How does that change what you’re able to do when you know when you have five forwards out there and no Adam? Yeah, I mean obviously it changes a little bit of hands, but uh and he’s always enorm. He’s he’s been running our power play for so long. So, um I think when you when that happens that quickly, it’s you’re just trying to simplify things. You try to find ways just to get pucks to the net and and not try to over complicate things and um we had some looks but but uh obviously it’s it’s a it’s a different type of power play when he’s not on there and especially like I said when you when you get a power play five minutes after you leave. So, don’t get a whole lot of time and but um yeah, that’s uh it’s it’s not for for the better at least. Just lopsided shot totals tonight. What did Tampa do well or what did you guys not do good well enough I guess to create those chances? Mhm. I I think we uh we had some zone time uh in the second I thought in the last 10 minutes or so, but um a lot on the outside and some good zone time and I don’t know if if a lot of pucks through and uh maybe not a whole lot of attempts either, but um I mean we in the third I I don’t think we’re in their zone very much to to create much honestly. um felt like it was just a just a cycle of us being in the D zone and a neutral zone and just going back and forth. So um um just um reset here um couple days in between the the next home game. So uh reset and um get a good practice on on Monday and then and uh we’ll go again on Tuesday.

JT Miller is ALL talk. I've heard "it starts with me" a dozen times already. Where's your Trouba Helmet moment? I'm not seeing any emotion.
As long as Mika & Panarin are on the team the team will always fail
If you had any dignity, you wouldn't accept a dime for your lack service to the fans. Gutless core.
Especially Mika at least Panarin isn’t getting resigned thank god but Mika is just an atrocious player who is forced into having this “all important” role yet he sucks massive cock at everything as long as that’s the case teams gonna fail at reaching any of its goals big or small
This game was a joke. These players are a joke. This is a organization that accepts mediocrity. And Laf needs to be traded.
Soft just soft I bet their mom's tell them they did good regardless of how they play….. Every kid gets a trophy generation
how about start winning at home like 8 out next 11 games are at home.
Just way too many of “these games”. It’s embarrassing!
I don’t know if JT thinks that owning being soft absolves you of it but it doesn’t….As Captain, is he not SICK OF SAYING THE SAME THING AFTER EVERY HOME GAME? “It’s gotta stop, it can’t happen any more” blah blah blah it’s every home game. Do these guys not watch tape of these games?!?! No video? How the fuck can any of these guys watch video of themselves playing at home vs on the road and not lose their mind? They’re soft, lazy, and mentally soft at home and WAY too comfortable losing
2 games in 2 days against 2 badly depleted teams due to injuries.
Impressive performance against Boston across most of that game, but…
Outplayed today, in every aspect of the game, for the entire game with the Lightning.
Not going to get any wins with 13 shots and only 1 goal.
i don't understand the outrage and disappointment. this team is a bottom half of the league talent. the idiotic frustration about why they cannot compete against good teams is hilarious. they are a bottom third nhl caliber team. stop with the pearl clutching. they will not be a serious team until they sanitize the organization. the best case scenario is that drury is fired, dolan goes into a retirement home, and an authentic restructuring of the organization takes place. we are looking at a 10 year process if everything goes right. until that happens we'll have the same bullshit we've endured for decades
How does a team with 4 starting defensive starters beat you at home.DISGRACEFUL I got rid of my season tickets now they been begging me to reup.DOLAN YOUR THE WORST OWNER IN SPORTS
How about going with my suggestion from a few weeks ago….. have the Rangers w e a r the road uniforms at home…. obviously this is a psychological issue and they need to believe that they're on the road, and what better way to do this than to wear the road uniforms at home! Can anyone else come up with a better idea?
