Chicago Bears Rumors After WIN vs Eagles: D’Andre Swift Contract Extension? TJ Edwards Injury Latest

[Music] Time for a Chicago Bears mailbag after the Bears improved to 9 and three with a win over the Philadelphia Eagles. My name is Harrison Graham. Christian with a $20 uh super chat. Will we have linebackers against Green Bay? What’s the status? Well, Tmaine Edmonds is for sure out. He miss he’ll miss at least two more games on short-term IR. I think there’s a decent chance TJ will play. Hey, got a couple extra days here. Um, they did not expect to have to put him on short-term IR. They didn’t, but he’s missed four games now. So, you would hope he doesn’t miss a fifth, would be a huge lift if he could come back. Um, we’ll see about Noah Su, Ruben Hippoly as well. Uh, if if TJ if just TJ could come back. I mean, if Demarco Jackson’s your second linebacker, I think he’s shown enough good things. You can live with that. But, yeah, you certainly want to get these linebackers healthy. I think TJ’s got a shot to play. Okay. So does Noah Su, I’d say. Adam Downing with the five. Appreciate it. Has Swift officially extended himself or the whole year need to play out. This is my first Bears winning season as a fan. FGB in the check. The FGB is in for Adam. I mean, he’s got one year left on his deal. It’ll be interesting. You know, last week he wasn’t that effective. This week he was awesome. So, the beauty right now is you have two backs you can you can really rely upon, which is uh a whole lot of fun. Um, maybe he plays himself into extensions territory. What a story that would be after a poor first year for the most part. Uh, if he could get into uh that territory of an extension, that’s that’s a credit to him. I like how he’s playing right now. I’m sure Ben does as well. Make sure you guys subscribe to the channel. We got you guys covered here on a daily basis here on Bears Now. Eric Sna, I love this running back room, but do you think the Bears could trade up for Jeremiah Love? I think he’d take this offense to another level here. Reminds me of Gibbs from Detroit. Um, it’s good question. I mean, Love would be awesome. I don’t think there’s any chance. Uh, to your point, they they would have to trade up. I don’t know. I mean, if you’re if you’re getting this production out of the guys you have, do you want to trade a lot of assets to go up and get Jeremiah Love? Because you’re probably going to have to get into the top 10. What if the Bears are picking 26th? Like, are you doing that? I don’t know. I love Jeremiah Love, but um I’d almost rather use draft capital to go trade for a pass rusher if I’m going to do that. All right. Uh Shet says or Chat says, “Why was Mloud out there?” So, I I’m pretty sure, and you know, I haven’t seen all Ben Johnson’s quotes. We’re filming this live. I think Jaylen and Kyler were on a pitch count. And so when the Bears got a two-score lead in the fourth quarter, I I think they gave those guys some rest. Remember, Jaylen hasn’t played since week two. It’s cold, it’s windy. I can cause soft tissue problems. Kyler has had multiple of those this year. I think they’re fine injury-wise, but I think it was a um it was a kind of a load management situation. Mud Vein, what is the implications of this win? And can you explain how big it is? Well, in the short term, the Bears are the number two seed in the NFC and they remain on top of the NFC North. They leaprogged Philadelphia with the win and now they’ll have the tiebreaker over the Eagles with this win. So, that’s what it means in the short term. Uh big picture, I think they sent a message to the league that they’re real. Are they going to win the Super Bowl? I don’t know. I’m not ruling it out at this point. I think you can dream as big as you want to dream. I don’t think that should be your expectation. But if you say, “Hey, I think this team could win it all.” Who am I to say that you’re crazy? I do think the Rams are for sure a better team. After that, I think it’s kind of up for grabs right now in the NFC. And uh if we would have said that heading into December, only one team is clearly better than the Bears in the NFC and that they’re right there in the mix, I mean, would we have not taken that? I think we would have all taken that. It’s It’s exciting, man. It’s really really exciting. Do we extend Tyreek and CJ Gardner Johnson? Well, Tyreek didn’t play today. Um, I don’t know if maybe you’re talking about Nan Wright, but I don’t know. I mean, it’s going to be interesting. You you have a lot of pieces in that secondary um that are good players. Um I thought, you know, I’ve said for weeks now, I think with the way, um Kevin Bard at safety’s playing, he’s a guy I’d keep around for another year. Deshawn Wright, he’s earned some money somewhere, whether it’s here with another team. Uh Tyreek Stevenson, this was obviously before Jaylen and Kyler came back. Now you got your CB1 back and Jaylen Johnson. So, it’s going to be interesting. It’s going to be interesting. Uh they’ve the the good news is in the short term you got a lot of options for Dennis Allen to mix and match. Red Evan, does this win make the Bears a real contender and how far do you think they can go? I think they’re pretty real, man. What do we know about this team? They have a good offensive line, especially in the run game. They can run the football with multiple running backs. They have a really good play car. They have a really good defensive coordinator. In theory, they should be getting even healthier back on defense. They have a streaky quarterback, but one who does not put the ball in harm’s way very often and does generate big plays. And Caleb Williams, they have a lot of ingredients. Again, I’m not going to sit here and say they’re going to win the Super Bowl, but they’re for real. I don’t see how you could say they’re not. We’ll ask you guys, are they for real in the NFC? Type Y for yes, tip in for no. If they’re not, then who is other than the Rams? I mean, you could talk me into the Seahawks being better. I think they’re for sure uh better on defense, but this the Bears are up there, man. This is a really good football team. Bears fan 57. Thoughts on Caleb’s performance up and down. Um I’ll be honest, I’ll put the interception more on Ben. I thought the guy made a great play. I thought it was ridiculous to throw the ball in that situation. You’re running the ball down their throats. You got seven yards on first down. Keep running the football. Uh but he certainly missed some throws. C++. Another commenter said C++ up and down. When he had to make plays in the fourth quarter, he was good. I thought he was at his best yet again in the fourth quarter. So, that’s the good news. But imagine if he tightens up the consistencies throughout the course of these games. I mean, he still got a lot a lot of room to grow. Few receivers were falling down some, so the pass game was kind of just out of whack at times, which is why I was like, just just keep running it. Run the football. It’s Frozo official. What is our biggest need in the draft? If you asked me today, I’d say edge rusher. It’s only two starts, but I like what I’ve seen from Aussie Trapillo at left tackle. So, I would probably say edge rusher. I still think a big-time pass rusher is something this team is lacking. All right, appreciate all of the questions. 2. Slow down with the spending of other people's money folks. Can we see how the rest of the season and playoffs go first ? No need to rush to give new contracts to anyone, especially those with one more year left on their current deals. We better beat the Packers next Sunday. I don't see why we couldn't make a serious run at the Super Bowl if we keep playing like we did against the Steelers and Ea gals. Go Bears.

  3. You know, I am not sure the way we are playing right now that the Rams are that much better than the Bears. Their strength is the pass, if I'm not mistaken. Our D matches up really well against a strong pass attack like the Rams with all of our defensive backs, especially CJ Gardner Johnson and Brisker in the box and blitzing….and now JJ and Gordon back. Imagine when we get our starting linebackers back. Think big folks, raise the bar…

  4. Caleb definitely didn’t play his best. But guess what, neither did Hurts. The wind in that stadium had been downplayed a bit. I don’t know for fact, but I’d be willing to bet that the Eagles stadium has the most missed field goals due to the wind. I couldn’t imagine passing would be easy either. Anyways, go Bears and FGB!!!
