So to me as a coach, you know, my philosophy is always players over plays, you know, and how how can we as coaches, even as a position coach, maximize our players abilities, you know, and put them in position to have success. I am wishing him the best. If he can maximize the talent and finish games the rest of the season will at least be entertaining
I'm not sure what he means; but as a DC he has to come up with a viable remedy for the late-game failures of his unit.
That will entail coming up with changes to blitz schemes, formations, and personnel to adapt to the changes opposing offenses make when they are losing in the fourth quarter.
As a new coach he can't just assume the players will play better for him. The nature of those late-game collapses is a coaching problem not a player problem. Even if the entire second string defense was playing there shouldn't be a collapse as dramatic as what this team has had.
What talent is he maximizing? He's the position coach for Abdul Carter and he has 0 sacks all season 🤷🤷
This tells me that he's open to making in-game adjustment to sure up weakness and be competitive to the very end.

I feel like Bowen had this same philosophy and that’s why he’s gone. Guys aren’t performing like they should. Mix up coverages, run some exotic blitzes, show some sim pressures… get some good schemes for them.

I dont like this "philosophy" its not a players game, its a team game. Stop putting players on a pedestal. You set expectations. When that happens, you make failing much worse. Its a team sport. Look at Baltimore right now, Lamar Jackson, one of the best QB right now. Guess what? If the rest of the team doesnt do their job, the collective suffers no matter how good of a player you are. GIANTS ARE DOOMED!!!
