LIVE: Warriors vs. Pelicans Pregame w/ James Borrego 11/29/2025

Hi, how are you, sir? How’s it going? Uh, Trey, questionable. How’s he looking? We’ll find out. Yeah, nothing yet. Nothing to report. Uh, hopefully he’s good to go, but we’ll see. The Lon uh you’ve been a part obviously he’s making his return here. There’s a lot of stuff kind of going on for him tonight. You you’ve been around some returns in in your NBA career. Can that help a team kind of give them a little bit of energy, a sort of you know win one for him type of uh boost if you if you will? Sure. Sure. I I you know, obviously both sides love this guy, you know, and they have a long history together and they’re going to show Luna a ton of love as as they should and honor him and he’s meant so much to this program more than I’ll ever know. You know, I I know who that guy is. I’ve I’ve been around that type of a player and what they’ve meant to a program and uh he’s super special to what they’ve built here. um you know, for our guys, hopefully it’s a moment for them to to honor him and understand the the respect and the the depth he has here, you know, and what he’s meant to this program and it should hopefully galvanize our group and, you know, give an effort that Loom would be proud of, you know, and so uh that’s the goal tonight. And then can you talk about what what Sadi has been especially kind of these last three the the job that he’s done especially on the boards and then still kind of you know doing what he’s doing uh as far as the scoring. He’s been a you know uh just a pro for us a steady solid individual that we can count on every night. You know defensively offensively he’s given us more offensively than I expected. Um his ability to make shots, settle us down, get to the free throw line. Um he’s an absolute pro and a toughness, you know. He doesn’t say a whole lot to me, but when he does, I know he means business, you know, so he’s just he’s great to have around and I’m I’m thrilled for our young guys to have a pro like that in the locker room that they can look to and and and build with and um but he’s been a a joy to have in our program. You really spread it around the last couple games when you talk about the scoring output and the double figures, the eight and double figures. If you know Trey can’t go tonight, is that the mentality? It’s got to continue to be uh because that’s a lot of points you’re going to have to make up. Yeah, absolutely. You know, nothing changes. You know, we continue to move the ball, we share it. We don’t care who gets the shot. We just want the right shot, you know, and so same mentality tonight. Attack mode, downhill, share the ball, move the ball. Um I know some other guys are excited to touch the ball a little bit more, too, you know. So, this is their opportunity to to get out there and perform and play within our system, play free, play with confidence. And I see a group playing with much more confidence, uh, a more commitment. Um, communication is getting better. So, I look for that again here tonight. Now, you’ve been working on transition defense a lot. Why is that so important, especially against Golden State? Well, it’s the fabric of your defense. If you can’t get the ball contained in transition, I’m not sure how good a defense you can ever have. you know, it’s and it just it’s a it’s habit, it’s communication, it’s feel, it’s accountability. Um, it’s the first part of any defense. So, um, I learned that at a very young age in in San Antonio. The the thing is though, the the game has changed so much. It’s so much faster. You know, guys are coming at you. This will be a game about transition defense for us. They’re they’re going to try to start fast, get out early, play with great pace, especially without Curry. There’s no secret here. They’re going to try to play faster. Um, obviously their defense, they they’ve been talking about that a lot. So, um, look, we’re we’re as desperate as they are. You know, there’s there’s no reason we shouldn’t be the more desperate team tonight. Good. Thank you. Come on. Come on.
