How Ben Johnson OUTCOACHED the Eagles ๐Ÿ‘ ‘He’s all about accountability’ – Rex Ryan | NFL Countdown

CJ Strad ready for what might be the most important game of this day in Indie. He’s missed the last three. Texans won all three. They got a real shot to win that division. They’re playing the team they’re chasing today in the early window. We’ll have plenty of that. Meanwhile, back to Black Friday and a statement game maybe for both teams, Eagles and Bears. And this one started, Teddy, with the Bears just running it right down their throats. Yeah, fellas. This was the theme of the day, too. I mean, look at that. That’s a path of least resistance. I mean, the the the Philadelphia Eagles did not come to play versus this Bears run game. DeAndre Swift takes it in for the score here, Rex. Yeah, absolutely. And they just pound him. You’re right, Bruce. Pound the football against all this soft spacing. Two, you know, sevenman spacing. Swift had 125 yds rushing on that touchdown. Then Randy, we’ve been looking for AJ Brown. There he is up the left sideline. One thing about it, I wanted to start the game off to see what type of offenses was was this going to look like. AJ Brown, Jaylen Herz. I like to see that. 10-9 Bears after the Eagles miss an extra point. Then, Alex, what happens to Caleb here? Oh, yeah. I mean, obviously trying to deliver the baby here on the screen. Obviously, Eagles defense makes a great play here. Obviously, big big uh play in this game. That delivery did not go so well. Ensuing Eagles drives the third one. Rex the tush push. Did the Bears figure out how to stop it? No play is unstoppable. Thank you very much, Chicago Bears. Bear down defense. Bear down. Hurt second career fumble on the tush push. So it’s still 10 Chicago. Then Teddy, it was DeAndre Swift early and then it was Kyle Manungai running it late. Somebody tell the Philadelphia Eagle defensive line to stop the run first because I mean all they want to do is rush the passer in this game and they forgot about the run game. Bears ran it like crazy and then you got Caleb and Alex he’s got Cole KT behind the defense. This throw is so ridiculous going to your left here to drop this down. It was windy all night. This was the throw of the day. than the division or the decision that everyone was talking about. Herz finds AJ Brown. So, it’s a nine-point difference and they go for the two. What did we think of that decision? Uh, it makes absolutely zero sense. You had all the momentum at this point. Why wouldn’t you keep it? I mean, stay down nine. You lost. You lost all the energy. Everyone here hated it. And so, in the end, it’s the Bears who get the big win. And their locker room was lit. Good. Never let it rain. Get better. Get better. On three. 1 2 3. Look at the celebration. The Bears are 9 and three for the first time in 15 years. They stay ahead of the Packers whom they will play at Lambo next Sunday. Eagles, meanwhile, they’re now the three seed. They’ve lost two straight. They’ve left the door open maybe a little bit for Dallas in the division, by the way. So, everyone is a winner in all of that. We were talking really interesting stories on both sides of this game. We start with the Bears and what a difference the right coach can make. Yeah, absolutely. The right coach will not only galvanize his football team, but galvanize the fan base. All right. That’s what this guy’s done. He’s the right deal. He I mean he he’s without question the man for the job. The other thing is he out coached Philadelphia. Absolutely out coach him from jump on both sides of the ball. This guy’s the real deal. And it’s funny how the same playersh it’s amazing. They seem to be getting better and better and better. That’s this coach. He’s all about accountability. And you see it with the team. And look at that locker room, man. I mean, look at the energy that this guy that that he brings to that damn locker room. That passion. But I’m going to tell you, it ain’t easy. This guy makes you accountable and this whole team is buying in and that’s why this is a dangerous football team. I don’t even know what he’s saying, but coach Johnson, I’m going to tell you what, put it on the back of the shirt, put a Bears logo on it, and send it on up here to New York. But one thing really, back to this game, I was very impressed with how they started the game. You talking about two running backs having over aundred yards. You know, we sit up on this show, we talk about the quarterbacks, we talk about the pass catchers, but we rarely give the offensive line some love. The Chicago Bears, I’m talking about from left to right. Trapillo, uh, Dalman, Jackson, and right, and cannot forget the champion, Thoney. One thing about him, he’s been in New England, two championships there. He’s been in Kansas City, that’s two championships there. Now he’s in Chicago. What am I trying to say? I’m just going to leave it question mark. But I love what I see coming out of Chicago. And lastly, I’m going leave you leave leave you with this. Over the last couple of weeks, they’ve been talking about all the injuries on the defensive side for the Chicago Bears. Man, I didn’t see nobody out there miss a beat, man. I like what I’m seeing. But one thing about it that’s scary moving forward, they still have three guys in the top five in all of football and interceptions. So, I like what I see coming out of Chicago. Listen, I thought this was a statement win. And from Ben Johnson, this guy put on a clinic from the run game standpoint. This is the best run game in the NFL. willing to go into Philly and dominate this way. And he’s just so creative. You talked about putting players in good positions. Rex, just look at some of the stuff. This is DJ Moore, right? Kind of their their physical receiver. They move him into fullback, right? And again, all the creative motions. Look at the angles he creates for his players here. Again, motion the tight end across. Look at all the communication going on the back end with the safeties. Who’s got who? DJ Moore coming on the backside. Look at him as he back blocks on the D end. Again, the safety also jumps out of the hole. I could drive a car through here. Again, look at the angles for the O line as they come down. It’s like a wave, right? And again, a chunk run again. Here we are. Cole KT coming in motion, right? He’s going to come all the way across the ball. Psych. Here we quick snap him and he’s wham blocking the defensive tackle. Rex is just so creative. Again, look at the run. Beautiful. I mean, unbelievable here. The angles he creates. There’s Funy with the with the center on the down block again. Another chunk run. I mean, nearly 50 rush attempts. Alex, that’s my favorite run of the day right there because you you he passes the uh the quarterback here and then hits the breaks and goes. Those Eagles, you mentioned it, Brew, they love to get up the field, penetrate, penetrate. He uses it against them. Ben Johnson, great coaches use coaching against that team. This is what I’m seeing. I’m seeing a team that loves to park in two high safeties. Well, now I’m gonna out coach it. I’m gonna get angles for all my guys. Not only are these guys good linemen, but guess what? They can angle every single one plus on an angle. There’s no way you can’t do it. He out schemed him. He out coached the hell out of this football team. And guess what? He’s He’ll never tell you, but his players know it. I’ll guarantee you his players know it. Yeah. I can just hear all the people in Chicago just loving watching this team. But I mean, the coaching you’re talking about and we got to talk about the lack of coaching on the other side for the Philadelphia Eagles because it’s it’s been non-stop. It’s been non-stop talk about the offense and how it’s just looks uninspired, basic. When is the head coach, Rex, when does the head coach have to step in and do something to an offensive coordinator that obviously doesn’t have the answers right now? And this offense is just struggling. Yeah, absolutely. That’s your job. That that’s it. You’re the head coach. All right. So, when it’s not working, it’s on you. You’re the You’re the one who gets the wins and losses. All right. And so, it’s on you at some point. Nick Seriani’s got to take this this this uh this play calling over. He has to. I mean, listen, over the last four weeks, they’re averaging 15 points a game. And to your point, Teddy, they don’t out coach anybody on the offensive side of the ball. And AJ Brown took a lot of flack these a few weeks ago, right? Making some noise. He was the lone bright spot. He doesn’t look that wrong now, right? Like again, there clearly something wrong there on offense. They need to make some changes. Well, look, I all I know is remember we were in a similar situation last year when all of a sudden they said, “Who the hell are we?” And I used to go, “Run, Eagles, run.” I remember that song back to running the dang football. Whatever it takes, run the dang football. You got to get Jaylen Herz involved or whatever. And you can scheme, too. It’s okay to scheme. You saw Ben Johnson out scheme the hell out of you. You got better players than Ben Johnson does. We’d have to motion. You have to motion some players to be able to do something. You can’t do that. They don’t do that in mind. You can’t do y’all was sitting up here calling out the head coach and the play caller for the Philadelphia Eagles. Rightfully so. You seen all the movement u with Friday with the Chicago Bears and how it dictated the game of how they ran the ball. The defense didn’t know what was going and all we’re saying up here is Philadelphia put some motion in there to see if the defense now you got a problem defensively. They can’t stop the run now. So now you you know how to attack. This defense has been playing really good. I think I mean obviously I don’t expect them to give up 280 yards rushing going forward. This is the strength of the team that that defense. And and can I just say one last thing here? All right, Brew, you were about as physical a player as there was in this game. All right. What keeps you from being physical? Probably when people motion and you got to all of a sudden now you got to think you got to adjust. You got to Yeah. change your alignment and all of a sudden now you’re not quite as physical. And that’s what this this motion all that type of communication does. It doesn’t allow you to be as physical as you want to be. And I think that’s why that check mark for outstanding coaching by Ben. The only thing the Eagles may have still on their side, their remaining schedule comparatively soft. They still have the Commanders twice and the Raiders. So that’s what they’ll need to hold off the Cowboys who are suddenly surging in that NFC East. Meanwhile, take a look at this guys. Cookua getting Zet to play. You know what he always watches? He watches LeBron highlights before he goes in to play his game. Man, oh man. You in Charlotte, man. I don’t want to play puka. That’s okay. We surely it’s all right. That’s one of the games we have coming up. Adam Shfter, what else is coming up today? All right, G. Coming up, Shador Sanders makes his second NFL start today versus the 49ers. We’ll discuss the Browns potential plan for Shadore as he looks to build off his first win. And with Miles Garrett closing in on the single season sack record, it’s only appropriate we look back at Garrett’s best plays of all time.

On Sunday NFL Countdown, Mike Greenberg, Sal Paolantonio, Rex Ryan, Tedy Bruschi, Alex Smith and Randy Moss discuss the Chicago Bears defeating the Philadelphia Eagles and more.

  1. Don't switch up on Chicago when all of you on ESPN have been verbally lambasting this team since the Summer… Screw your fake praise.. the only people that has actually showed any love to Chicago and/or Caleb Williams has been few and far between on this network

The line is fixed, the defense is getting healthier and this team has a culture

Also, the tush push can be stopped, simply put, get good… learn how to stop it and get good

  2. Going for 2 early when you're down by 15 is not a bad call because if they would have converted, it would have left them down by only a score and a P.A.T to tie the game up and send it into overtime. After that two-point conversion they could have accomplished all of that with an onside kick or a three and out.

  3. So where's Bart Scott? I'm looking forward to his reaction after predicting "Bears funeral is happening, season falling apart" talk Friday

  4. It's actually ridiculous that paid nfl analyst for ESPN don't understand the 2pt decision. Going for 2 first has been the way teams operate in that position for a few seasons now and ESPN literally has a team of people doing analytics that can tell them why it's the right call. Just straight up lazy

  5. Donโ€™t nobody know But Chicagoans that it started with George making Ted fall Back ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ now we are top to Bottom in the front office creating a culture of winning George Kevin Ryan and Ben ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธDAAA๐Ÿปโ€ผ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜Ž #restupmama ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

  6. Letโ€™s go ๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป๐Ÿป Super Bowl bound im saying it

  7. The bears are a force to be reckon with. Grown men being led by a great leader. Many of us who've played football before (HS or otherwise) miss the camaraderie.

  8. Hi, I'm just spreading the gospel:
    Mark 1:15
โ€œThe time has come,โ€ and He said. โ€œThe kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!โ€

  9. As a Bears fan, it's not JUST Ben folks. We got a whole new OL this year and added 4 more weapons on offense so shout out Ryan Poles! Also for the casuals, I hope yall know our defense been injured ALL SEASON so GET READY when we get our LBs back now that we FINALLY got our DBs back! ๐Ÿ˜ค

  10. Ladies and gentlemen

THE CHICAGO BEARS ARE THE #1 SEED IN THE NFC THANKS TO A RAMS LOSS!!

This game vs the Packers next week is gonna be a MOVIE!!

  11. Funny how the media wants to talk about "lack of coaching" from the eagles coaching staff (a super bowl winning coaching staff). Yet last year the media refused to acknowledge how bad the bears coaching staff was on both sides of ball. Everybody just spent all their timing bashing a rookie qb who was in a terrible situation. #smh
