✭ Dallas Cowboys rookie Tyler Booker WHOOPS all pro Dts, Jalen Carter & Chris Jones || Film Session

Previously on Booker Bash, you know, the Cowboys had his little skirmish with the Eagles, man. We’re going to be taking a look at Tyler Booker all day and talk about the last two games in particular. He went against some uh some top tier dudes in these weeks. I just kind of want to highlight a few things, man. I want to talk about Book and his hands and I want to talk about what power brings to the party. You take a look at Tyler Booker. One thing we going to focus on in this entire episode, right, is the outside hand. Is the power of the outside hand. And so it ain’t just him being physically outstanding or physically more impressive than his, you know, counterparts or the ops or whatever, right? It’s about the placement of the hand and it’s about what he brings on the back end of it with the feet and all that. But we’ll cross that bridge a little bit more when we get there. We know anything about Jaylen Carter. Jaylen Carter like to feet to the outside. He likes to win with first step and explosiveness and all this kind of stuff. Tyler Booker is going to mitigate a lot of that with his with his quick sets, right? What are quick sets? Okay, get my arrow here. Quick sets is more when I’m blocking into you, right? When I’m taking small steps to block into you. Unlike, you know, what a tackle may do. They may take steps backwards to try to gain ground. Booker is opting to get on you quickly to get hands on you quickly. Why? Because if you’re going to try to beat me with speed, I’m going to try to beat you with ass whooping. You feel me? So, if you take a look at Tyler Booker right now, Jaylen Carter is going to try to burst up field. Bam. quickly. You get the outside hand up on uh up onto the outside shoulder and we’re kind of trying to funnel Jaylen uh Jaylen Carter back inside, right? It’s it’s a it’s a leverage science thing. If I’m attacking the outside is to funnel you back inside a little bit, right? It’s like a swirly. Okay. So, what we’re trying to do is stop all of your forward progression. And that’s what Booker did first. If you’re going to uh try to whoop me outside, I’m going to stop you outside. Then I’m going to drag my feet or bring my feet with me. Okay? And Jaylen Carter was so offbalance from the strike. Boom. Boom. Him trying to swim over Book bringing the rest of his body here. This is all O line porn right now. We just talking right off the swim. See Booker square first of all. Right. First of all, Booker is boom boom. He’s square. Jaylen Carter off the swim. What happens when Jaylen Carter swims? His base gets narrow, but Booker’s base is still wide. Booker’s going to drop at the knees. Bam. And we gonna get real strong up against Jaylen Carter. He gonna eat some grass on that damn jersey, boy. Let’s keep watching. This might be a long film session. I got so much to say. Let’s watch this one, man. Tyler Booker at the right guard. He going to be in the same spot every single time, right? But man, Jaylen Carter does this every time. Like, if you look at Jaylen Carter and how he whoops people on like other teams, like he whoops with a little bit of inside leverage. And when I mean inside, like he’s shaded to the inside. He gives you some head and hand fakes and then he quickly tries to attack you to the outside, right? Let’s just watch right here. Bam. Fam. But what does Tyler Booker do? And this is all chess match by the way because Jaylen Carter is also fantastic. Booker is going to go for the outside uh for the outside hand again. Boom. And it it does uh it does slow down Carter a little bit, right? But this time Carter is going to swipe at it. Bam. But Booker is so powerful. We’ve had this conversation. And I keep talking y’all about old cowboy legends like Conor McGovern, uh you know, Conor Williams and guys like that, Xavier, um Sufilo, right? They may have the technique, but they don’t have the the pure ass whoop to go along with it. You know what I’m saying? So, even though Jaylen Carter did try to get a little swipe on that outside hand to to to try to stop Booker from doing it, Booker was so powerful that Jaylen Carter couldn’t really fully swipe it. He he he got a little bit of a swipe at the end, but Book didn’t move because Book still has square feet. We just having a conversation here. Look at Jaylen Carter’s feet and how and how close they are. And then look at how wide Booker’s feet are. So Booker is powerful on his base and he’s powerful in his hands. And then we’re going to get some foot movement from Book, right? Take a look at Book’s feet. It ain’t got to be big movement, but just small movements just to keep me in the game and to and to um keep me um keep me even with Jaylen Carter, keep me square, right? Another thing, Booker, just noticing this, watching his back, he took a uh a uh preemptive measure, a uh preventative measure, right? So, you want your outside hand to kind of guide where you want the uh the player to go, the uh lineman to go, Dline to go, right? So, outside hand is I kind of want you to get back inside of me. So, if I’m working with my right hand, I want you to come to my left. I want y’all to look at what Book does after re-engaging right here. Boom, boom, boom. After re-engaging right here, he is protecting the inside also because hell Dax inside, right? Dax right there. Right. So, after we get Jaylen Carter positioned where we want, bam, bam, bam, positioned where we want, now I’m going to switch my hands. Now, I’m going to control you with my left hand on the outside shoulder. I’m just going to stabilize you with the right hand there just in case Jaylen Carter wanted to do something funny. Book killing it, man. Let’s keep watching. How about this one, man? This just book being strong. sitting down, bending the knees, and look, take a look at the technique right here. Just just creating this powerful base with his outside hand. I want y’all to look at Book. His his posture ain’t perfect right now, but he but he’s strong, so it don’t matter. Take a look at the elbow being right here from Booker, man. Staying strong. If your arms are fully extended, then you’re not powerful that way. If you’re going to try to if you’re going to try to uh push a refrigerator, you’re not going to push fully extended. You’re going to push with, you know, with a little bit of bend in your elbow there. So with book keeping bend in the elbow is activating all them all them all them big book muscles there to keep him strong and powerful there. So even when Jaylen Carter gets around and look Jaylen Carter technically has a win in the leverage battle right here right and some people will look at this and call this holding but hey man referee in college you feel me? Did you hear what I said? You know what I’m talking about? So, you know, he may have the the outside win right now because he’s on he’s on he’s on Book’s outside hip, but Book with the right hand bringing power to the party funneling Jaylen Carter and not really letting him get that free run right there. So, really, you know, if Jaylen Carter running down the middle of Book, it seems like Book has the has the power advantage. Like, that’s just me talking. But now this is Jaylen Carter attacking half of Tyler Booker and he still seems strong enough to keep him off off deck for for a couple of seconds. He might complain. Eagle fans might complain, but I ain’t. Let’s keep watching. Hey man, we going to do some run game work, too, man. Take a look at Tyler Booker bench pressing Jaylen Carter, bro. Just push pressing him out the gap there. And look, Jaylen Carter makes an attempt to to try to be strong right here. I’m going to show y’all then rewind it. Jaylen Carter tries to to plant this foot to be powerful, right? He wants to he wants to to try to anchor book, right? Let me just bring it back a little bit so y’all can see the actual point where he does put that foot in the ground. Take a look at Carter’s fear right here. One boom. You see him try to plant that foot right there to be powerful. But now, let’s get to this point after he plants the foot. Now, let’s see how much more movement book mind you this posture is is O line porn by the way. This this posture right here. This posture right here. Head across. Okay. Hand up. Okay. Elbow bent, knees bent, feet driving. This is Oline porn, ladies and gentlemen. You can’t beat this with a stick. And Jaylen Carter is going to try to be strong right here. But Book is just doing too much. A rookie Tyler Booker. A rookie Tyler Booker is doing too much right now. So just imagine. Let’s keep watching. I want us to really focus on this, man. Let’s watch Tyler Booker. I’ll just let the let the play run cuz I know how y’all be getting and then we’ll come back and we’ll talk about a little bit more. Man, I want to talk about Book and his awareness of his hands where where his hands are. Right. Book first first Book is trying to get square and then after Book gets square and gets his posture established, then we’re going to try to turn Jaylen Carter so that we can uh so that we can improve the run lane for uh uh Vonte Williams there. And then we’re going to finish the block. So, this is what I mean, right? First of all, we’re going to establish our base. We’re gonna connect there. Here’s uh Book right here at the right guard spot. Bam. We’re gonna come off the line screen. Boom. We’re gonna establish our base. Okay. Now, Book’s hands ended up high there and low on the opposite side. You can’t see it, but I just know that that’s what’s going on. Trust me. Okay. Trust me, bro. Uh we’re going to try to establish the hands here. Okay. Now, once Book gets established, at this point right there, once Book gets established and we got our feet moving a little bit and now it’s time to drive and finish and all this kind of stuff and find our leverage, you’re going to see Book switch hands right here. So, right now is right hand, right hand high, left hand low. Book is going to switch. Boom. You see him right there? You see him switching? You see him switching? You see him hitting them switches right there? Boom. Now is left hand uh is right hand low, left hand high. And you’ll eventually see his left hand, but just as of now, trust me, bro. What does this mean? Well, because what he’s doing is is he’s pushing with his left hand. Okay? And he’s pulling with his right hand. Why is he doing that? Because we’re trying to get Jaylen Carter turned. We’re trying to get him turned in this type of direction right here. Why? Because you got Javvante running behind you. So, we’re just trying to like create this little lane or whatever. But brother man, brother man, you gonna see Book, you gonna see Book, let me bring this back one more time for y’all. Pull with this right hand, push with the left, and turn Jaylen Carter. And once you get Jaylen Carter turn, and then you just see Vonte just could just do whatever he got to do, then you’re going to see Book continue to drive. Jaylen Carter don’t just stay here. He ends up moved all the way past. This is where Jaylen Carter is at now. Okay, this is where he’s This is where he’s lined up at now. And then he’s on the other Hey. Hey, bro. No, we we are so strong in the middle, bro. On both sides of the football. Like, dog, look at look at the yard line right here. This what I like to do sometimes, right? Just I’m just watching film. Look at the yard line. Jaylen Carter is in front of this yard line, which ain’t no problem. But then his feet going to end up on the other side of the yard line. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re powerful. And then uh uh Vonte going to hit Book in the back. But it’s all good, man. Book just going to finish Jaylen Carter. He going to fly just a little bit, dog. Hey, man. Let’s fast forward to Kansas City, man. We ain’t doing nothing else. How about this one, man? Tyron Smith may made this move famous right here. Let’s just watch Tyler Booker at the right guard spot. Don’t forget where he at. And I know we we we flipping sides there, but he’s still the right guard there. Tyler Booker going uh get a get a really good punch on Chris Jones. Slow him down. I just want y’all to look at Chris Jones helmet and how it snapped back right there. I just want y’all to look at how Chris Jones gets stopped in his tracks right there. All probo defensive tackle. Chris Jones getting his neck snapped back by the punch of Tyler Booker. Y’all remember Tyron Smith used to do this? First of all, we are still on uh uh right hand strikes. Okay, let’s not get lost in the sauce. Okay, we are still on right hand strikes. But just man, you remember Tyron used to just put his hands in in folk neck and just hey, stop and just make people quit moving. I’m going to go back and do a old Tyrron Smith film session. It’s It’s going to be fun. But Book kind of picked up on that one. Maybe just, you know, watching the film or maybe just uh you know, Tyen told uh Tyler Gen and then Gen told Book. But man, I’m just going to grab you by your neck, slow you down, and then once I got you where once I got you where I want you, then we’re going to reestablish, get both hands involved, and then go find the base and stop you from moving forward. Let’s keep watching. Common theme. There’s a lesson in every bar. Okay, we’re going to come off the line of scrimmage there. I’ll just show you the play and come back and let y’all All right, cool. Here we go. Common theme here, right? We’re going to come off. Boom. I’m going to I’m going to strike, get my hands where I want them to go. Now, this time, Tyler Booker’s going with the old school approach. And ain’t nothing wrong with with mixing it up with the old school approach. I’m just going to get two high hands on you. Two hands high in your damn your damn shoulder pads. That’s just old school right there. But boom, establish a strike, get you where I want you, and then when you start moving, just going to hem your goofy ass up, dog. I wish I could Photoshop if anybody’s good at it. I wish I could Photoshop like Cooper BB as like some locker, right? Just as a locker. And it just looks like boom, it just looked like Book Hemmed Chris Jones up into a locker. Like you going to eat your cone bread type. You know what I’m saying? Like, let’s just get this mistake. Like, bro, like Book ain’t even peanut butter book yet. He ain’t even peanut butter book yet. He ain’t even as big and as strong and as swole and necklace as he can be, right? Chris Jones is all pro Pro Bowl, one of the goats, probably Hall of Famer, Super Bowl champion Chris Jones. And dog book just like like off of juice. You know what I’m saying? Just hiding next to the locker. My boy like, “Dog, what you doing?” I’m so excited. I am so excited about Peanut Butter Book and what it’s going to be like, bro. Like, you know, this is normally the the the time of year where the rookies kind of fall off just a little bit. You know what I mean? This is normally around that time where we start to see some regression. Like, dog, and it could be because the like the dudes that Book had to go against early early in the season. You know what I’m saying? Like, that that probably matters. So, Book is well conditioned. He’s well conditioned with his opponents, man. So, by the time it’s week 12, you 11, 12, 13, whatever week it is, him versus Chris Jones, it’s like, “All right, I’ve been doing this versus elite three texts and tackles all year. This ain’t nothing.” Now, this real porn right here, dog. This this this real porn like tech like technique-wise. Technique-wise, right? Not only is Book dominant, but he got fail safes in playing, right? He got he got he got fail safes planned up just in case somebody try to get a W on him, right? So, we going to get a little bit of outside work right here. Right. Outside zone and easy peasy lemon squeezy. Right. We’re going to outside zone step. Bam. This is really because he’s lined up on um Teran Steel here. This is really a short pull for Book. You know what I mean? Like outside zone step would be like what you know Big Tyler does to this one right here. You know what I’m saying? That like that’s just outside zone step for Book since uh Chris Jones is lined up four eye on Terrence Steel there. This kind of like a short pull. You really got to open up your hips. open up them shoulders and really go and and um and cross face. And Book’s uh like Book’s responsibility here is to get to the nine on uh what’s his face’s jersey right here. He’s he’s he’s he’s trying to get on the opposite side. So boom, Book doesn’t all the way get there. Okay, it’s cool though cuz we going to keep on working. Chris Jones, very athletic, fighting his way to the outside. He’s another stud. Also, there’s a small technique a small technique in here from from Tyler Booker. And it’s really based on feel and experience, right? You’re going to get ball carrier still working to the outside. Chris Jones has the leverage advantage right here. If you cut Book in half, all Chris Jones got to do is stay outside and he can go make a play on the ball carry right here. But there’s a small thing right there. Did y’all see that? There’s a small thing Book is going to do. He’s going to take this arm and he’s going to rip under Chris Jones. Now, what this does now, oh my goodness, bro. It’s small technique stuff, bro. It’s small technique stuff, bro. All right. Outside zone blocking. Okay. Ball carrier get to the outside. Chris Jones has the outside leverage. Book is going to take this inside hand, rip it under. I got to talk about this on ground, bro. He’s gonna rip it under and automatically he wins the leverage battle with his technique. He’s been whooping feet all day with just strength and power and like you know whoopingness tendonism. You know what I’m saying? But this time he’s going to rip under Chris Jones and he’s going to win the body position battle so that now Turpin can continue to roam freely and Chris Jones has to work to get across Booker but it don’t work. Hey dog, book like book ridiculous. Book is ridiculous. And look, this is standard O line technique. You know what I’m saying? Like like this ain’t nothing crazy, but like dog like this is still you have to perform this O line technique as a rookie versus one of the greats in the game right now and having to rip your ass under like that. Boom. And now you have the leverage advantage. Ridiculous. Hey, later on in the game, Chris Jones ran out of technique. He said, I’m just going to run down the middle of the book, right? That dog that that ain’t look dog though that ain’t that ain’t never that ain’t never smart Chris Jones no matter how good you are man it’s never a good idea to just run down the middle of Tyler Booker like that dog cuz man Booker Booker got strength man and I didn’t know Booker had strength advantage I’m learning this on the fly I didn’t know that Book had the strength advantage but dog who you talking to and then the crazy part about it is like Chris Jones got wore down throughout the game like it’s like Book putting hands on you like the entire game like it wears you out and now you just see Chris Jones is like a sloppy rusher like in the in the first portion of the game man Chris Jones was like firing a field getting it in whooping feet running around you know he wasn’t whooping Tyler Booker he was running around and it’s like dog it’s like Book zaps the energy out of you the same thing with Jaylen Carter bro like once you get to the fourth quarter you see Book with a nice little with a nice little little little tug right there you see the hands inside on the jersey boom just a little tug right there Chris Jones ain’t go cuz he’s a legend. But dog, Chris Jones just lost all desire to to try to win. Man, Book really frustrated the piss out of this grown man. Dog. Ladies and gentlemen, Tyler Booker was 100% the the correct choice. He was the correct draft choice. There was a lot of guys that we that we could have drafted. Um, you could have gotta, but we probably wouldn’t have pickings or whatever. Walter Nolan was in the conversation. He’s going to be a he’s going to be a a good player one day. Like, you know what I’m saying? like like we ain’t going to front on that or whatever. But as far as uh as 12th overall goes, man, Tyler Booker fell in your lap, man. Tyler Booker fell in your lap. Him as a hard worker, him as the rest of the offensive line, how it’s how it’s kind of turning out. And then with the coaching, with the coaching, you know what I’m saying? Clayton Adams and um um uh Riley over there or whatever, man. Like, it’s it’s it’s just it’s just fire, bro. Hey, man, this is a bit of a longer film session, man. Uh Conor Riley. Yeah, this a this a bit of a longer film session, you Uh, pardon me, but I had a lot to say. I had a lot to say. I hope y’all enjoy when I nerd out on offensive line and uh, I appreciate y’all. Salute.

  1. GREAT FILM SESSION VOCH!!!! Damn bro’ – there’s always a teaching moment for those who want to learn. The Turpin run “rip” technique to get leverage was so subtle – most eyes miss that! YOU DIDN’T!

  2. LT- booker
    LG- Smith
    C- beebe
    RG- Steele
    RT -guyton
Man, Tyler Booker is the best o lineman in Dallas! He played one on one with Chris Jones and shut him down 💪 the best DTs in football 🫵

  3. Edit *Booker wasn’t lying when he said he wants to take the love of the game away from grown men.

Booker vs Quinnen gonna be so fun in camp if they’re continuing the 11 v 11s next year.

Draft night I bashed the pick bc of rb concerns but the dude TB has clearly proven me wrong we’re lucky to have him on the team

  4. It doesn’t matter what I’m watching. If I see there’s a new Voch or Global Crown Media episode I’m gonna stop what I’m doing and check it out.

  5. When your draft pick is already NFL-ready that is a win no matter the position. I may be wrong, but not once has Booker been a liability on the line. Teams like to look for the mouse in the house. When they run into Book, you get the damn elephant in the room

  6. I know this is a Booker film session, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was impressed with Beebe straight HANDLING Jordan Davis in 1-on-1… the power of this interior is God tier.

  7. Tyron Smith slapped Brandon Graham right off his feet, I think it was 2015, slapped him to the ground while Zeke ran right around him. Booker's not quite there yet but he is a very strong man, the way that he stonewall's Chris Jones is impressive for a rookie to say the least. That's what you get when you take an SEC player, they come preconditioned

  8. What I like is that the Boys committed to this run scheme where Booker is incredible. We see Q Williams beating double teams, where the Book man wins vs All Pros. Booker probably doesn’t work as well with an outside zone team, but he’s a perfect fit for the Boys. I hope they stop flailing around on defense so they can get players that fit their scheme over time.

  9. Booker going to be. Pro bowl within in rookie contract. I knew that was the correct pick when Dallas drafted him. You never can have enough good offensive line in my opinion. Thanks for taking time to show these replay films.

  10. Voch what are your thoughts on Guyton overall? He's not living up to his draft position but i feel like hes doing enough to keep around. You think Nate Thomas will take reps from him?
