No one Expected This…

The latest trade development for the Toronto Raptors is very very interesting as a report has come out revealing the Raptors are among the favorites to land to Montis a bonus via trade. Now after the loss of the Hornets in the past few games without RJ Barrett some holes in the Toronto Raptors offense have been getting exposed and there’s a connection with the Sacramento Kings which makes Deontis a bonus trade all the more likely. So, we’re going to break down what this report is saying, the likelihood, and whether or not it makes sense to acquire Domas out there for the kicks because, of course, he is one of the best offensive centers in the entire NBA, offensive big man, whether he plays power forward or center, and could really help out the squad, but would regress this team in certain areas. So, we’ll break this down because, you know, this team has been phenomenal this season. The Raptors have been overachieving, breaking expectations, blinging through every seal that a lot of people thought this team would have, but they have a very uh interesting stretch of games coming up. You you were on a nine-game win streak, had a pretty light schedule, tough loss to the Charlotte Hornets, which is making everybody overreact, but now you face the New York Knicks, the Blazers, and the Lakers. You know, three teams that are pretty solid out there in the Western Conference, the Hornets, once again, who have given you played you tough over the course of this entire year. and the Celtics and the Bucks who are two teams that you can’t ever take lightly. So, the Raptors going to have a bunch of tests coming up and we’ll really see if these holes are exposed. But, in the meantime, the the odds makers, the people that make all the predictions out there in the NBA are uh projecting the Toronto Raptors to make a trade for Deonttois or at least be one of the top teams to do it because you can see uh this list uh Damont Sabonis’ team after the 26 NBA trade deadline. if it’s not the Sacramento Kings. Uh the Knicks are favorite, the Bulls are there, the Blazers are there, and then the Toronto Raptors are ranked fourth out here on this list. And uh this is a very interesting development because of course Deont Sabonis has been linked in a lot of different reports as of late. Essentially, uh Jake Fischer came out and revealed that the Sacramento Kings are reportedly willing to trade anyone on their roster except for Keegan Murray and uh Nick Clifford. That means players like Zack Lavine, Demard Rosen, Deont Sabonis, Keon Ellis, Malik Monk, and even Russell Westbrook could be available. So, that’s a development heard on that front. And then on top of it, you hear these uh breakdowns that Sabonis has been disappointed with Sacramento’s downward trajectory since reaching the playoffs and his usage at times under coach Doug Christie. League sources have told Hoopite. So, basically what’s happened this season, the the Kings, you know, Doug Christie uh was brought in to be the the interimm head coach last year, then he got given the full-time role. And this season, they’ve really adjusted their offense, which is uh taking Dom out of the picture there a little bit. And, you know, they’re not running. He played a lot of point center out there for that group, and things have gotten a little bit messy out there in those areas. And that’s led to his stats to regress a little bit over the course of this season. You have 17 still phenomenal stats out there for this guy. You have 17.2 2 points per game, 12.3 rebounds, four assists per night. Still solid true shooting, but one area where his uh, you know, judge where his game has really followed off is the three-point shot. It’s affected his true shooting percentage and, you know, his free throws are a little bit down. So, it’s not been an upear for Sabonis, especially in his new role for this team. But the thing that people have to understand about Domas is this guy is a good three-point shooter. He’s a lot better three-point shooter than this uh stat essentially indicates. We look at his stats last year for this team and you could see it out there last season for the Sacramento row kicks. He was shooting 42% from the three-point line on 2.2 attempts per game. So, not a crazy high volume shooter by any stretch of the imagination. But a guy that was definitely shooting a lot better than he has been over the course of this year. So, he’s a stretch big man. He can play in the post. He facilitates really, really well offensively would integrate seamlessly in this Toronto Raptors team. However, there are a little bit of uh you know reasons to pause regarding uh the bonus. Basically, first thing is his contract. Now, it lines up perfectly with a lot of the core guys out there, the Ste, the extension he gave to Brandon Aram. So, you’d essentially be open up committing to a three-year window with this group, but uh you know, he’s making $42 million per year, so it’s an expensive contract. And some of the advanced stats, especially this season, don’t love uh love him. Now, the Kings are a bad team. You know, their net rating is bad uh with whoever’s out there on the court, but their net rating is a lot better with Sabotas off than it is with Abod. So defensively is really where it takes a massive hit and you don’t get that much of an improvement out there. It’s like defensively it’s a a bad bad drop offensive bonuses on the court even though the offense improves slightly. So those are all things that are coming into play with Damontis a bonus. And this is where the Raptors being listed as one of the favorites to actually pick him up gets very very interesting because Bobby Webster just made a big commitment out there to Yakob Purle who is the guy that is starting at center for this team is a much better defender than Sabotus. And this season himself despite a cool start to the year is uh in a steady season. Not as good of numbers as he was last year but 11 points per game, eight rebounds, really efficient out there around the basket. you know, 72% true shooting. You know, 5 73% out there from the field. You solid out there blocking shots, free throw percentage is really bad, but you know, Yakurleto has been awesome this season. There’s no arguments against that. But bringing in Sabonis, you’re, you know, punching out there on the defensive a little bit, but you’re getting more improvements out there on the offensive end. And while the advanced stats don’t love him out there on the Kings, him coming in the Toronto Raptors is a guy that, you know, the dramatic improvement over Yaka Purle cuz Purle can kind of pass and facilitate that mid post area. Guess the bonus is better in those areas, but is the spacing of the floor. That’s a bonus would provide, but you know, because on this group where you have, you know, RJ Barrett, you have Scotty BS, you have Brandon Digger, try to slash, try to get in the paint, you know, Ingram, those little 8 to 10 foot midis, right? It’s a bonus to be able to be out there and space the floor a little bit more. And one really interesting uh uh finding that I had the research of this uh this vid is the Raptors best lineups this season. Their four best lineups in uh you know again not the greatest sample sizes because the season’s only just started. But Sandro Mamu Kellishvilli when he’s been out there with any sort of group four of the five best lineups the Toronto Raptors have in regards to net rating have had Sandre Mamu Kelli out there on the basketball court. And of course Dako Purle is a better defender. He has more size than uh you know Mu. But the thing that he definitely has uh you know out there all is the threepoint shooting. So bringing in a floor spacing big man that can also do all the passing facilitating stuff and you know help your team out there rebounding could be very very valuable for this Toronto Raptors team. And that’s an avenue where the Raptors have to take things seriously because as of late the Raptors have been struggling out there on the offensive end of the floor. And specifically one thing that you know when the Raptors were winning a ton of games that they’re still winning a ton of games don’t get me wrong but you know the assists per game have been high but over the last stretch of games things have not been as perfect as we’d want out there for this group because uh basically you can take a look at it uh you know sportset revealed this over the Raptors last three games their offensive rating has plummeted to last in the league along with their true shooting mark uh falling under the 52% mark. So they shot 44% from the field and 31% uh behind the ark against the Hornets. All while the Raptors half court efficiency was ranked 42nd percentile among the 16 teams that played Saturday night. So the Raptors again without RJ Bar the lineup they’re getting exposed there a little bit so maybe say oh he returns from stuff but you want more offensive creators. You want more guys that can create out there on the offensive end. So Sabonis would certainly be a guy that improves the offense. Again you take a look at the odd offsets the kicks it is the kings. So they’re def different defensive style, but he is a worse defender that uh you know than a Yaka Purle. So it’s it’s an interesting spot. So I want to know from you guys, do you think the Toronto Raptor should trade for Don Dontto Sabonis? Type Y for yes and for no. I’ll respond to every single comment. And one development that I also want to uh really take a look at is one of the more reasons why it could be likely because again I haven’t brought any trade packages and stuff but you probably have to combine Yakapurle along with uh you know RJ Barrett who personally you know I have been adamant I have been outspoken out here on these videos. I am not interested in uh you know trading RJ Barrett. I started a movement to not make this happen and RJ Barrett this season we’re seeing the value that he provides averaging 19.4 points per game five rebounds 3.8 eight assists. And you know, you take a look at what he’s really been able to do out there over the course of this year. You know, for this team, for this group, for this squad, right? He’s efficient out there from the field. You know, 60% true shooting, which is, you know, the top third of the league while getting 20 points per game, five rebounds, four assists. We’re seeing the playmaking fall off a little bit for the Toronto Raptors since they uh you know, he’s been out of the lineup since he’s been off this team. So, the Raptors need to really uh figure some stuff out front, but you know, you’re going to have to combine one of these dudes. And Emanuel Quickley is the other player that you’ll be named out here in this situation because, you know, he’s averaged 60 points per game, five rebounds, six assists, and he’s he’s the guy that fits out there on paper for this group in terms of roster balance. You know, he can facilitate the point guard spot, even though some people call him a a combo guard, more of a two than a one, but you know, the efficiency just hasn’t been as great for IQ this season. you know, he takes a lot of ill-advised three-point shots at times, but you know, his numbers have jumped up to 37% from the three-point line from where they were at the start of the year. IQ has been good. He’s been solid, but you know, you’re bringing us a one of those uh those bets on a guy that, you know, has been an all-star in the past to take that jump. So, I want to know if you guys are interested in making one of those trades. But, uh, you know, one of the reasons that it makes it more likely, again, I bring it up, is Scott Perry is the GM of the Sacramento Kings here now at this point. And if you’re not familiar with him, he was formerly the general manager, whatever his title was with the New York Knicks when they ended up bringing in both RJ Barrett and Emanuel Quickley. So, uh, there’s a lot of talk about the Kings wanting to trade off of Zack Lavine. I don’t think it’s likely he’ll come to the Toronto Raptors. But if they do move off of Zack Lavine, they’ll probably want more depth out there in the back court. So, then they trade Sabonis and bring in one of those guys. I would not be shocked if Scott Perry is interested in making one of those moves happen. So, let me know what you guys think about all that out there in the comment section down below. But the Raptors have one of the biggest games of the season tonight, if not the biggest game. You know, the Cavs won where they solidified themselves as second in the East was very big, but tonight you’re facing off against a team that is tied for third out there in the Eastern Conference, and they are right on your tail in the New York Knicks. The Raptors have been um you know, the offense has looked a little bit shaky as of late. So, it’s going to be very important you come in here and get the job done against the New York Knicks, who are a great basketball team this season. You know, take a look at their stats over the course of this year. You know, they’re very effective on offense. They get rebounds. They’re top 10 in assists and, you know, they play solid defense. They are just an allaround good team out there for, you know, the NBA. They’ve had a lighter schedule as of late as well, but uh they’ve lost the Magic, the Heat, and the Magic against. So, the their best win over the past 10 games has been against the uh you know, the Miami Heat once. So basically, the Knicks haven’t been uh, you know, crushing all the top upper echelon teams in the league right now. So the Raptors have to come in and solidify themselves as the second seed by beating the New York Knicks in this game tonight. So I’m very very excited to see what’s uh going down, what’s happening for this group. And one thing I forgot to mention as well, the Sabonus front. Uh, Sabonis has been injured for the past couple weeks and will be injured for the next couple weeks as this came out mid- November from Shamsteria that Damont Sabonis suffered partially torn meniscus and his knee will be reevaluated 3 to four weeks. So again, one of these trades doesn’t have a chance of happening till mid January or anything along those lines, but we will see how things play out. So that’s a mention as a bonus. Uh, there all the latest developments and stuff, but let me know what you guys think about all this in the comment section down below. Hoping the Raptors get a big win tonight. I appreciate every single one of you. Anyways, I’m signed now.

  1. Y – Because he has the skillset that compliments push-it mentality the Raptors have emerged with this season. He can create shots for other players and stretch the floor. Although I don't want to reference the rebounding stats directly, I think his being able to clear the boards will be a big help. Now who should we ship out? Well, it would make sense to trade RJ (I dont want to) because if you trade I.Q, you have no depth at the point anymore. Hard to say, but I'm curious.

  2. dont move RJ, hes improved every year and is still young, nobody on this team can cut to the rim like him and his absence is really showing, when shooting goes ice cold like the last ten minutes this team played, hes the best out there for driving and getting results…….If he would have played we dont score 17 fourth quarter points as he would have filled that crap outside shooting

  3. So if we trade him for iq and rj would we start him at power forward beside yak? That’s the only thing I can see working out

  4. We need a proper PG. Not one that takes a 3pt shot attempt from 5ft in front of the 3pt line on a 2 on 1 rush with under 2 mins remaining up by 2pts.
    Crazy times.

  5. 🙄 ok well honestly fine but just not for Quick, RJ, or Jackobi… have a few more other don’ts but please seriously tired of the trading now… can we get a team that can get a chemistry going already!!

  6. ITS AD to Toronto for RJ IQ CMB Shead 4 unprotected picks and 1 unprotected swap. raptors will have to add 3 years of max in an extension to the 2 years of max after this season.

  7. Couldn’t a starting five of not work assuming it’s Quickey and minor
Pieces that goes back to Sacramento?

    Poetl
    Sabonis
    Ingram
    Barnes
    Shead

    Or

    Poetl
    Sabonis
    Ingram
    Barnes
    Barrett

  8. The only way this works is Sabonis and Eubank come to the Raptors and we can sign Eubanks for a few more years for cheap. We send Poetl and RJ. tot he Kings. Your still without a center you have to send Ochai and few 2nds to Phoenix for Richards or same to the Nets for Sharpe

  9. Sabonis would be a good addition but likely not worth Yak and RJ. Sabonis would be fine in terms of rebounding, but we didn’t have a solid defensive centre for years and suffered hard because of it. If we do this deal we will be right back there, saying that Sabonis is good but is not a defensive anchor like Yak was and our defence is too porous. We would also miss Yak’s massive screen setting. An intriguing idea, but I think I would say no to a Sabonis trade. We would probably be better off with a big, strong centre who can do the things Yak can do but with improved shooting, which is a big ask, Yak brings a LOT to the table that most people don’t notice in the games or the box scores.

  10. Just go for AD at this point if we want a trade thats gonna cost us a lot. Having a starting 5 of Barnes, Dick, BI, AD and Jakob sounds elite defensively and very good offensively especially if Barnes keeps hitting those 3s.

  11. It doesn't seem likely to be a big enough upgrade to be worth both your starting centre and your starting shooting or point guard. Sabonis is a great player but you would be creating a significant hole.

  12. Sabonis is great for points and rebounds, but in terms of steals and blocks he’s not really better than Poeltl. Poeltl is even more efficient in field goals, it’s just not in the playbook to give him as many touches as possible to score. Considering his contract, it wouldn't be worth it, nor possible in long-term. We need complex centers who can score, rebound and block. That’s why I said we need Alex Sarr, Kel’el Ware and Shaedon Sharpe as PG.

    Here is the method:

-Step 1. Trade Quickley, Agbaji, and Mogbo for Nic Claxton (25.3M) and Terance Mann (15.5M) from the Nets. = 0 (–40.8M, +40.8M)
-Step 2. Trade Nic Claxton and J. Shead for Shaedon Sharpe (he is a Poison Pill player, which means his outgoing salary is counted as his future average salary, about 22.5M) and Yang Hansen (4.4M) from Portland. = –0.3M (–27.2M, +26.9M)
-Step 3. Trade Gradey, Temple, Yang Hansen, and Terance Mann for Alex Sarr (11.8M) and Corey Kispert (13.9M) from the Wizards. = –1.3M (–27M, +25.7M)
-Step 4. Trade Poeltl and Kispert for Kel’el Ware (4.4M), Davion Mitchell (11.6M), Nikola Jović (also a Poison Pill player, so counted as 15.6M), and a future draft pick from the Heat. = –1.8M (–33.4M, +31.6M)
-Step 5. Bring back Orlando Robinson from Orlando !
-Final step: Make it happen! Go for the Championship within 1-2 seasons!

The team would look like this:
First team: Sharpe, Barnes, Barrett, Ingram, Sarr
Second team: Mitchell, CMB, Mamu, Jovic, Kel'el Ware
Rest: Martin, Walter, Lawson, Battle, Chucky and Orlando

    Let's go Raptors!
