MLB News & Rumors: Valdez Mets, Berrios & Glasnow Trade Rumors, Helsley To Orioles & More
The American League East strikes again, grabbing another pitcher off of the free agent market. We’ll dive into that. This time a closer. Is a National League East team poised to strike next. The New York Mets and maybe from Bravald. Back to the American League East stuff. The Dylan cease signing by the Toronto Blue Jays. Does that mean that an existing pitcher in that rotation could be traded? And speaking of trades, some of what I have hypothesized over the last year or so could be coming into shape or at least there are those out there, writers, beat writers, insiders that are seeing the picture that I have seen for some time now. We are going to dig into all of that in this edition of news and rumors. Leave your comments down below. Smash that like if you enjoy your time here and let’s get started. We will begin in the American League East with that pitching signing and it is Ryan Hley to the Baltimore Orioles. Now, there had been teams that had been checking in on him to be a starter. That is not going to be the case for the Baltimore Orioles as Jeff Passen outlined that he will be the ninth inning option for Baltimore. A two-year contract with an opt out after the first season, which basically means if he pitches as well as he thinks he can, he’s gone. This is most likely a one-year deal. And if you’re the Orioles, that works out fine for you because you have this season without Felix Bautista and then he should be back in the 2027 season. You know, best case scenario, uh maybe he doesn’t pitch as well as he wants, the market isn’t there, and he opts in. I don’t know. Or maybe he loves Baltimore, loves Baltimore crab cakes, I don’t know. And you get a second year out of him. Then you would have Hley and Bautista for a second year. As unlikely as it is that he would opt in, it wouldn’t it would it would it would be a really good thing for the Orioles to have those two at the back of the bullpen. But for this year, it is all about an oral bounceback, an oral comeback. The disappointment from this past off season, they have been linked to a closer. They’ve been linked to a bat. They’ve been linked to a starting pitcher. You have to think my mindset is this and and and and and it really feels like uh Mike Elias and the others there in that front office have to share this the same sentiment that if you don’t bounce back, you already wasted one year, you can’t waste a second year with these young players. Now, there’s been some weird quotes that I just kind of look at and and I overanalyze that that gives me some pause and some concern for just how aggressive the Orioles are going to be. But grabbing Taylor Ward, grabbing Ryan Hley, they have to go out and now make a splash for a starting pitcher. And word is they’re they’re they’re checking in at the very top of the market. Go out there and get somebody and make that bounce back happen. This Orioles team has too much young talent. The window, I don’t know how long it’s going to remain open because I don’t know how much money this ownership group can dole out to the young talent that is all in early arbitration and will eventually get to late arbitration and free agency and then that window could start to close at that point. But you get this Hley deal done, it’s good for the back of the bullpen. It’s not a crazy amount of money. 28 million for 2 years and according to Fan Graphs, it is split evenly. 14 for 2026 and 14 for 2027 if he picks up that player option. Fine deal. Doesn’t really upset the market that much. It’s not anything that we look at and we think, “Oh, well now Diaz will go for this or Suarez will go for that.” Fair fair contract for a closer when he was at St. Louis was lights out. didn’t go so well with the New York Mets. But I wonder if some of that was pitching in Queens. I wonder if some of that was just the chaos that the trade can bring. I wonder if some of that was that he wasn’t closing anymore. He was not asked to be the ninth inning guy. He was pitching in high leverage situations. He was he was pitching in the in the eighth inning. He was a setup guy for Edwin Diaz. Maybe getting back to the closer role will do good things for Ryan Hley. Speaking of pitching moves and we talked about how an NL East team looked like they were maybe ready to strike and is forever Valdez destined for Queens to join that New York Mets rotation. According to Hector Gomez, that’s what’s going to happen. The Mets are the favorites to sign Valdez and it is expected that they will sign him for six years and $200 million. Now, this broke the other day and nothing’s really happened since then except a lot of reaction and a lot of talk about the deal. And I have my thoughts as well that I want to chime in. I think that this would be a great signing for the New York Mets. You think about that rotation right now. You see Fmer Valdez would slot in at the very top. Remember Valdez would slot in as the SP1. He has October experience. When you take a look at this group, you’re looking for October innings, guys that have felt that pressure, been in that situation, and can excel there. You have a lot of young pitchers that you’re bringing along. We don’t have any of them identified here, but you got to think come 2027. You could have all of those young guys behind FMA Valdez and his experience could be a great mentorship or or him using his uh his his experience to sort of tutor some of these younger pitchers, but Kodi Sena could be gone before we get to opening day. David Peterson is in the final year of his arbitration. He will likely be gone at the end of the 2026 season. Shawn Maniah. Who knows how long that lasts with the New York Mets. If they get out of that, trade him, sign, you whatever. Obviously, not sign him, but if he remains through his deal or if he gets traded early, either way, either way, uh, Forever Valdez would be a great piece at the top of this rotation. And and whether it’s Forever Valdez or whether it’s any of the other big names, top of the rotation pieces, you can see just how important that addition is because Kodi Sena, let’s say he does stay with the New York Mets. Who knows what what what is Kodi Sena? I think the best place for Kodi Sena is situated in the middle of a rotation. Having him as your SP1, as your glorified ace maybe isn’t the best place for him to be. Having him situated in there as a three, I think is a good thing for the New York Mets if they even hold on to him. Now, Framer Valdez would be a great addition, but it would also be, as Tyler pointed out in a Twitter post earlier today that it would go against the philosophy that David Sterns has deployed of signing long-term deals to starting pitchers over the age of 30. But he is expected to, David Cerns is to go out of his comfort zone this off season, which is something you’re probably clamoring for if you are the New York Mets. You’d love to have Max Freed on this team right now. Years and and and dollars, whatever. Uh years and dollars are are not really a thing that the New York Mets have to worry about. So adding uh g getting getting into this market getting into the market of these you know 29 30 31 year old pitchers and going three four five six years on them if it’s the right guy I think it’s something you need to do you can’t turn a blind eye to everybody just because you don’t like doing it there have to be exceptions and whether it’s framer Valdez or one of the other pitchers that are out there seems like they’re going to get in on him and I think that is the right thing to do for this rotation there are trades that could be paid. But then you have to decide who are you going for. Are you going for the short-term options? Are you going for the long-term options? You got to think the Joe Ryan types are going to cost a a heavy premium. Edward Cabrera is going to cost a heavy premium. And if you don’t want to pay that, you can go out and grab somebody like Framer Valdez. You just have to be comfortable with going to those going to those years. And it seems like this year they’re going to this year they’re going to do that. Faldez again will be a great addition for the New York Mets. I think they should jump in on this player and add him to that rotation because as we looked at here, they need to add that veteran. And when we think about some of those trade pieces, some of those guys, they’re younger guys, right? It’s Mackenzie Gore, it’s Edward Cabrera, it’s Joe Ryan. There is a ton of talent there. There’s a lot of juice in those arms. But the veteran experience that that could bring, there really aren’t that many Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer types. And as I say that, I understand that Verlander and Sherzer are free agents and are actually available. But what I mean is Verlander and Sher from three years ago, guys that still had something in the tank, could be at the top of the rotation, and are fine taking a one or two-year deal. This market doesn’t really have much of that. It has the younger guys. It has those late 20s, early 30 guys that are looking for the long-term contract. So, you also have to kind of adapt to the market. And it looks like the Mets are going to do that. And that is a good thing. Whether it ends up being Valdez or one of the other pitchers that are out there, somebody like Zack Allen, I think they need to dig into that market. Another starting pitcher that has been signed off of the free agent market is Dylan Cece to the Toronto Blue Jays. And some of the fallout from that signing could be in the form of a Jose Bereios trade as Mitch Bannon talked about on the Athletic in his piece Dylan Case got paid. Here’s how it may shape the rest of the Blue Jays winter talks about Jose Bereos now being a trade ship because at best he fits in as the number five in this rotation. And there’s also Eric Lowour there. Eric Lowour who pitched very well for the Blue Jays last year. Lowour could also be a swingman could come out of the bullpen, but Bereio and Lowour could be in competition. And Lowour, it’s much cheaper than Jose Bereioses. Not that the Blue Jays need to try to find money after this Dylan Sea steel, but if they have 20 million bucks in a guy who’s a five or or even is coming out of the bullpen, then maybe you find somebody else that values that players player more and you can repurpose that $20 million into something of greater need. So there’s there’s definitely some logic behind that. Speaking of money attached to Bereios, because when we try to think about teams for Jose Bereos, this comes into play. his contract. He has a $19 million payday coming in 2026. And then there’s a player option that if he picks it up, locks in the 27 and 28 season at $24 million each. Does he take that? That’s really going to depend upon the 2026 season. If he pitches like he did in 2025, he’s grabbing that. If he pitches like he did in 2024 or 2023, he’s opting out. So that’s the other element that makes it complicated to trade him is you really don’t know. It it could go it could go either way. So when you’re trying to work out a trade and you’re the Blue Jays and you’re thinking maybe we need to send some money, how much are you sending? Are you sending 10 million to try to cut the 26 number in half or do you have to send more because of the looming 27 and 28 player options? And if you do that, who are you talking to? what’s what’s your trade partner? And I do have some teams that I have identified that could be in the Jose Bereios market. And we go out west for all of them. I got the Angels, the A’s, the Giants, the Padres’s, and the Diamondbacks. All teams that could add pitching. The Angels have added Grayson Rodriguez to join Us Kikuchi and Jose Sarino. But you could still use another starting pitcher. Jose Burios could be that, especially if the Jays are going to eat some of that money. The A’s need another starting pitcher. The Giants need at least one more starting pitcher. The Padres’s need started pitching. And again, the Blue Jays are going to eat some of that salary. The Padres’s make sense. The Diamondbacks also make sense. They are another team that’s in need of starting pitching. And if the Blue Jays will say, “Hey, we’ll we’ll we’ll eat half of that 26 number. And it’s only 10 million bucks for Jos Burios. The Padres’s and Diamondbacks should come running for a player like that.” So thinking about the trade however is complicated again because of that money on baseball trade values he’s got a median valuation of negative26.7 million that is because of the contract that is because of those options that are being assumed to be picked up. So that’s a pretty difficult trade to put together. And as we have all seen, as we have seen recently, especially with the Sunny Gray trade, these trade values don’t always match up. But what it does give you an idea of is how easy or how difficult of a trade is this player to be in. And this is a tough one. I mean, we are talking about maybe getting some prospects that failed to launch with some other teams like Sam Bachmann with the Angels or Marco Luciano with the San Francisco Giants. I mean, and at that point, Jay’s fans, do you even want to do that? Do you want to take a shot on somebody like that? Free up some money? Maybe you do, maybe you don’t. So, this gets into a an interesting situation. Do you keep him if that’s what the market is going to be? some fail to launch prospects or or or or do you get rid of him because you’re trying to get that money off the books so you can invest it in other areas of greater need. So this is really I mean this is this is this is up to you the viewer. You want to keep them, you want to trade him, Jose Bereos, it’ll be interesting to track that because they could keep him and and slot him in at the five. We know how good he can be. We know he can also be kind of a letdown at times, but a lot of pitchers are like that. And if he’s the five and he’s like that, that’s okay, right? Another player that has been brought up in trade rumors recently is Tyler Glassau. This is who I was talking about at the beginning of the video. An idea that I started throwing out about a year or so ago is now being brought up on ESPN’s most recent piece, the 2526 offseason survey, where Jesse Rogers was polling and interviewing executives around baseball, predicting free agency, predicting trades, and when we got to the trade candidate piece, one executive identified Tyler Glass now as a sleeper name for the trade market. And this is something I’ve been talking about because of the the the the shape that the Dodgers rotation was in when they signed him and where it is now. That landscape has completely changed. Remember, they got him before before Yamamoto. They got him before Blake Snell, they got him before Roki Sasaki, they got him before EMTT Sheen was ready to shine. So, it is a completely different scenario now. Is there a need for him on this team? If you can take that money and and turn it into something else, if you if or or you can add even more to your farm system, maybe you’re interested in doing that. Especially if you look at the market now and maybe there’s somebody you covet greater than Tyler Glass now. I mean, as it is, when you think about Otani and Yamamoto, Snell, Shien, you’ve got Roki Sasaki, you’re there and you haven’t even gotten to Tyler Glass now yet. So, the Dodgers have an excess of starting pitching. Now, if they want to go with the six-man rotation, which I believe is very likely, then Tyler Glass now fits in there. But, this may be an opportunity if the return is there to dig into a Tyler Glass now trade. His contract is pretty hefty. 32 million in 2026, 32 million in 2027, and then in 2028, there’s a club option of 30 million. But if they decline that, it turns into a player option of 21 or 22 million, which most likely he would decline anyway because we working on you want to work on a one-year deal here or you want to go get the multi-year deal? I think he would probably take the multi-year deal. So, this is likely to be a 2year contract with Tyler Glass now. And I mean, if we’re looking at this dollar amount, then some teams might be interested in doing this instead of the six or sevenyear deal for greater dollars. What teams could be in on Tyler Glass? I started thinking about teams that were contending or had aspirations to contend, teams that could use the starting pitching upgrade. Because with Jose Bereos, the conversation wasn’t about going out and getting a top of the rotation starter. It was about does the team need starting pitching period. This is does the team that we’re thinking about need that top half of the rotation either out of necessity or out of desire to and I’m going to I’m going to I’m going to sort of spoil it a little bit. Get back to the World Series maybe. Here are my five. The Red Sox, the Jays, the Astros, the Mets, and the Cubs all stood out to me as five teams that are having going to have aspirations to reach the World Series next year and could use Tyler Glass now to make the top half of their rotation even more deadly or in some instances deadly. U because there needs to be more. They need to add they have they it’s it’s it’s not even adding to a current wealth of starting pitching. It’s it’s trying to build a wealth of top half top tier start teaming pitching on baseball trade values. You remember Jose Burio’s contract or his his trade value was was rough. It was what was negative 26 million. This one’s not too badgative8.3. Again, it’s because of the dollars. And here’s the thing though, the Dodgers would very easily be in a position to send money with Tyler Glaz now to get a better prospect return similar to what the Cardinals just did in that Sunny Gray trade. So, let’s say they did what the Cardinals did and let’s add $20 million into this deal. So, you get Tyler Glass now and you get $20 million. That takes his trade value on baseball trade values up to 11.7 million. And now all of a sudden we can actually get a couple of good prospects back for Tyler Glass. Now, if we do a Boston Red Sox trade that has sort of gained some momentum and some chatter and some some talk and the and the rumor wins, we could have an Anthony Iansson and a Juan Valera. two pitching prospects, the number 12 and the number 13 in the organization. Would you do this if you’re Boston? I mean, kind of, right? Who knows what I are going to be? I mean, if you’re the Dodgers, you get two pitching prospects to work on and you get that money off the books for glass now minus the 20 million because you got to send with. But maybe this isn’t a bad deal if you’re thinking about the future. if you’re thinking about three, four years down the road when Blake Snell’s coming off the books or falling apart or whatever, whatever happens first. So, this is interesting. And and if you’re the Red Sox, you create a top half of the rotation because that’s what we’re talking about here. The top half of the rotation, Crochet, Glass Now, and Sunny Gray. I mean, that’s pretty good, right? For for for these two. Come on, Red Sox fans, you got to be into that. If you are the Toronto Blue Jays, couple of outfielders here, RJ Shrek, Jake Cook, two outfielders, number 10 and number 11 in the organization, both 45 out of 80 graded prospects. And you create a top half of the rotation, Gossman, Glass, now Bieber, Cease. I mean, again, here we go. If the Blue Jays are going to trade Jose Bereios, then you get into a situation where they could be in the market for Tyler Glass now. And if that’s what we’re talking about, then we can continue talking about that cuz I would sign off on that any day of the week. The Houston Astros, we would have to send three players from the Astros. We send an outfielder, a pitcher, and a catcher. The number six, the number 10, and then Caesar Sullivan is a catcher. He is not ranked currently in the top 30, but Joseph Sullivan and Ryan Fuchi go in this deal along with Caesar Sullivan. three prospects for the Dodgers to develop and the Astros turn the top of their rotation into something pretty good. Brown glass now Christian Javier that’s pretty good too. You see how Tyler Glass now as in that Dodgers rotation he’s the four the five the six he’s he’s one of those guys to a very important number one or number two for these teams that we’re talking about with the New York Mets. We send a pitcher and we send an infielder. Number 13 prospect Jack Wigger and number 21 pro prospect Boston Barrow go to the Dodgers. Sign off on that. Right Mets fans, you get to keep all of the prospects that you care most about and you create a top of the rotation. Glass now McClean Sanga. You could live in a world where next year your rotation has Framber Valdez and Tyler Glasnau and Nolan McClean in it. Good thing, right? This is a good thing. The Chicago Cubs could send outfielder Kane Keley, the number 12 prospect, and third baseman Cole Matthysse, the number 17 prospect. And that would be enough to get them. Now, all of these trades, if you’re wondering, Jim, you’re off your rocker. What are you talking about? All of these trades I ran through, I should have said this at the beginning. All of these trades I ran through the baseball trade values websites, and all of these matched up with Tyler Glass Now’s trade value. Maybe it was half a million or a million off, but it was all in the ballpark in the range of a trade that would be accepted by their model. So, we have Keley and Matas and that creates a Cubs rotation. Glasnau, Horton, and then how you fill out the top of the rotation when Steel’s back. Obviously, he’s there. Maybe Boyd and Managa, however you want to go. But with Glasnau and Horton at the top of that rotation, that looks pretty damn good as well. So, Tyler Glass now working him into this equation with with the money that he’s with the money that he’s owed and how good he is, it it considering what you would have to give up, I feel it kind of takes him to sort of the top of the trade market because the hall that you’re going to have to give up to get Edward Cabrera or Joe Ryan or McKenzie Gore or any of those guys may be too much. And Tyler Glass now, depending on how much money the Dodgers send with him, looks to be a much more affordable option. Now, continuing on with some trade talk on MLB Network, Mark Feinand today, no, not today, yesterday, posted a potential trade candidate for every MLB team. And we can look through this and see if we find anything that is interesting. if anybody really interests or intrigues you. Some of these are names we’ve already seen. Some of them are new. Some of them are no doubt should be traded. Some of them are no way can’t be traded. Who’s traded for Ryan Mount Castle? Um for Toronto, Joey Lopeid, I agree. He is a trade ship, but his value is literally nothing right now. Uh there’s there’s really no room for him. And honestly, honestly with Dalton Varo with one more year until he reaches free agency, I kind of feel like they need to hold on to Joey Lopero because they may not have a reunion with Dalton VO. So, I wouldn’t I don’t know if I would necessarily do that. We obviously have Brandon Laauo in Tampa. I think they will most likely trade him. Not because there’s a money thing, but moreover, this is a player that has significant trade value. And with the end in sight of of his time in Tampa, this is when they usually trade these kind of guys to turn into prospects to help help keep the machine turning and bring players to help them in a couple of seasons. Uh Durant for the Red Sox. Someone’s got to go. Especially if we’re talking about the Boston Red Sox being locked in on Kosher, Pete Alonzo, Alex Bregman, uh Bo Bashette, you name it. All of the big bats that are out there, someone’s got to go because if they sign, let’s let’s say they do Allonzo and they do Bregman. All right. Well, that means Meyers got to go to second. That means Christian Campbell, I don’t know. Does he go to Does he go to the outfield? Um, and if he goes to the outfield, then again, we get into a situation where it’s it’s William Breu. Uh, it’s Jared, someone’s got to go. Uh, for the New York Yankees, Spencer Jones, obviously with the return of Trent Gisham, uh, and word is that they are in on Cody Bellinger bringing him back. You got Stanton there. Um, or Stanton has to DH. You you have Judge out there. Spencer Jones is finding himself blocked yet again. And Spencer Jones would bring a nice piece back. some of those pitchers we’re talking about with multiple years of control having high asks in terms of prospects to come back. Uh Spencer Jones can help significantly attack the value that you that you need to sort of bring down to to get those players uh back in return. So Jones uh because I think he has he has significant trade value. Uh let’s try to pick up the pace here. Quan we know is is trade bait. Bouic is trade bait. Scubble very unlikely to go anywhere. Uh Joe Ryan, I think the Twins got to trade him. Absolutely have to trade him. There is no reason to keep him on the team. The return its peak. Go around there, negotiate with people, drag this thing out as as you need. Maybe the market’s not there yet because there’s still free agents that are available, but by the end of this off season, he has to be on a different team. Otherwise, it will be a terrible job by this Twins front office because they’re not going to win anything this year. They’re not going to win anything next year and then he’s going to be gone. This is when his value is at its greatest. Your job this off season is to pinpoint the value, identify that thing, and then pull the trigger. Uh Robert’s got to be gone in Chicago in the West. Joe Adele, he talked about Ward was traded, but Adele’s not going anywhere. Not now. Uh, Yander Diaz for the Astros. That one’s kind of interesting. I would think you can’t trade him. You don’t want to trade him, right? You got to hold on to him. Severino, you know, if the A’s had more pitching, I could see them trading Luis Severino, but they don’t. So, they kind of need him and he didn’t have a good year in 2025. So, the value is not going to be there. And they kind of need starting pitching. So, I I would be surprised. Luis Castillo. I keep banging the drum for Castillo. I think that’s that’s the road the Mariners need to take. Uh because of the money he is owed. If you can trade him and turn him into a young bat that’s in arbitration, uh call it Boston, young bat that’s in arbitration, you will actually save money, you will address another need and you will open money to go address another need. So, it just he he talked about it in the article Mark Fein did that that it is unlikely that Luis Castillo gets traded, but I would rather trade him than Bryce Miller or Brian Woo or Gilbert or Kirby and I’d still have four aces and I’d feel good about that and I’d have money to go do some other things and I’d get something really good back. Just feels like the B the GM in me would be all over this. Uh, Josh Young, I’m surprised and I can’t think that the Rangers give up on him just yet. His value is going to be too low. Can’t trade him. Over in the National League, Shawn Murphy, I’ll be surprised. I don’t think anybody wants that contract. Edward Cabrera makes sense. His value is about as high as it could be. Jeff McNeel. I mean, everything that we knew about Jeff McNeel from his contract, from his performance, from just just the baseball player he is led you to feel like now’s the time to trade McNeel. But now that we have this article that has been put out there identifying more of the problems that Jeff McNeel and his relationship with Francisco Lindor and how it’s been a problem in the clubhouse. Um, he’s got to go. Jeff McNeel has to be on a different team on opening day. Can’t be a Met anymore. Clubhouse issues can kill a season, guys. It really can. And if you have your star player, one of your star players having problems with another player and it creates issues in the clubhouse because you’ll have McNeel guys, you’ll have Ledor guys, you’ll have guys that don’t want any part of it. You’ll have guys that get sucked into it. It’s a distraction. It’s a problem. He’s got to go. McKenzie Gore for the Nats. If the package is right, I can see it. Nick Cass, but again, it’ll I would assume that’s something that happens later because teams want to address if they if they want to address starting pitching, they can do it via the free agent market and not have to part with the prospects because Gore would cost a decent hall in terms of the prospect capital. Castianos has got to be gone, but the Phillies going to have to eat some of that money. Wonder if that kills the deal. Does that kill a deal if the Phillies have to eat 10 million bucks? Do they say forget it, we’ll keep him then? I mean, I don’t know. I mean, even still, if it’s 10 million bucks, what are you giving up for Nick Castanos? They got to find the right trade partner. And it’s another one that maybe drags on because if you are Pittsburgh or you are Kansas City or any of the other teams that have identified going after a bat, you probably want to try to handle it on the free agent market first. And Nick Cassianos will almost be your last resort in the Central. Peralta don’t see it. St. Louis Donovan’s got to go. Uh the value is as high as it’s going to be. Again, the Cardinals are going to do nothing over the next couple of seasons while he runs out the clock there. He should be gone. Nico her is an interesting one and and as was identified by this this this thought process, if you trade Nico, I talked about it in terms of running out the clock with Nicoer, taking him to the end of his free agency and moving Matt Shaw to second base next year, grabbing a third baseman. Right now they’re talking the the the thought process for Mark Feinson was you trade Nico her now he brings back what he brings back and you move Matt Shaw to second now and you can go get a third baseman you can go get Alex Bregman you can go get Yinio Suarez somebody like that you can go maybe get in the Bobette sweep stakes so the Nicoer trade if that happens would really fire up a lot of interesting scenarios Pittsburgh with Keller Reds with green Keller is much more likely out of those two, I don’t think Green goes anywhere. But Keller, it’s just going to be about the money and do people believe in him considering what some of the top pitching options are going to go on the market. Keller is going to be cheaper in terms of what he’s actually got on the books. So, that’ll be interesting to watch. And then in the NL West, you’ve got McCarthy. Look at where Arizona’s at. I mean, he didn’t even put Catel Marte down. I McCarthy is more likely to go, but I’m surprised they didn’t put Catel Marte because Martell Catel Marte is the guy that brings back significance and also from a financial standpoint opens up significance. As long as what you get back from Catel Marte is arbitration, pre-arbitration or prospects, then you are taking money off of the books and you can then spend that money to help with your starting pitching or if you’re in such a position to where you just need to keep that money. That is an option too. Hopefully it doesn’t get to that for Arizona. The Dodgers with Dalton rushing. This is interesting. This was maybe and Joseph Gonzalez with San Francisco. Two Russian was a top prospect last year. Joseph Gonzalez is the top 100 prospect right now to prospects. Now, Gonzalez would obviously be used as a piece to bring back some starting pitching. Dalton rushing could be used to maybe get a left field upgrade, somebody that is more proven or address pitching as well. They don’t really need the pitching. So, this would obviously be something for a proven outfielder as rushing is trying to establish himself still. you could sort of skip over all of those development steps and send him to a team that is looking for prospects and looking for for a a cheaper option. So, rushing as a trade piece is very fascinating to see pop up in this article. I can see it happening, but I feel like I’m more likely a higher chance that they want to keep him and develop him than they dangle him. If they had a need for pitching, then this would be a great time because of how many arms are on the trade market. Call up the Washington Nationals, get McKenzie Gore, Gore for rushing, like something like that. But they don’t need the pitching and to do a bat for a bat. I I think it is less likely. Gonzalez, again, he would be traded for pitching for San Francisco. Brentton Doyle for the Rockies would be an interesting one. Boy, he just he just feels like he’s a Blue Jay. I don’t know why because of No, I do know why. It’s because of his defense. Now, his bat didn’t really do as much uh this past season, but I do think that there was a good hitter there. He plays tremendous defense. Um interesting to see what Colorado does, especially with the with the with the front office change over if they want to keep somebody like Doyle, if they want to trade somebody like Doy because he has high value right now. There’s also been talk about maybe trading Tovar because of his value, because Colorado’s going nowhere anytime soon. Do you want to try to build around those guys or you want to trade those guys and start over? So, have to watch how that goes. And then the Padres’s with with Cronoworth, I’m sorry, he has some of the lowest trade value of of all of the names that were brought up in this piece because of his contract because of how he has struggled uh and and just not really building any value, not really present. I mean, he’s a lefty bat. He’s versatile, but I mean, not for that much money do I want to trade for for Jake Cronoworth. I think he he remains with the San Diego Padres. So, this was an interesting one. Potential trade candidate for every team from Mark Feinstein. Definitely something that, you know, makes you think, probably gets some rumors started and we, you know, we we’ll we’ll watch it. um guys like Gonzalez. If the Giants are going for somebody like Edward Cabrera, Gonzalez, maybe he’s the guy. So interesting. Anyway, um that is going to do it for this edition of Trade Rumors, MLB News and Rumors. Uh I I wanted to call it trade rumors because that’s what we’ve been talking about for the last 15 minutes. Uh but thank you guys for coming in and spending time with the channel. Ballcap Nation, I salute you. To my 100 club, an extra salute to you guys. Thank you for making it all the way to the end of another video. That’s it for me. Make sure to smash the like on the way out, everybody. And remember, if it’s low, let it go. And if it’s high, let it fly. I’ll catch you next time.

Dodgers won't trade Glasnow to any of those teams!!! Just Banter!!!
Glasnow trade rumor is just Bullcrap!!!!
How about the Braves? They have w.s. aspirations. They could use another pitcher.
Can't stand Part Time Pitchers! They demand full salary (Glasnow) and only pitch part time, their entire career. Loser if you ask me
Jose Berrios for jeff Mcneil they need a Ss move 2B or 3B to Sort stop
Those Glasnow trade scenarios are so ludicrous that I would be embarrassed to even suggest them.
It’s funny you mention max s and just v I just finished my 2025 season on mlb the show they both retired lol 😂 man and I was going to sign one of them or both
This dude is making zero sence on tyler glanow trade. Hes just creating content and talking pure nonsence. UNSUBSCRIBED
Glasnow will never be a trade option or package piece unless were talking Skubal or Skenes. This take is goofy af 😂
Dodgers wouold not trade Glasnow for 2 or more people unless they were a few years away from being eligible from the Rule 5 draft. The Dodgers have a roster crunch as it is. They would go one for one or two for one
It means cubs suck again…
If the Mets are looking for Framber to tutor younger pitchers they will be very disappointed. He's a head case.
Jim was good content a year ago , but over the oast year its becoming borderline unwatchable bwtween his ridiculous antics of always taking his hands to the extreme , terrible trade predictions….Bro is a hot.mess now
Senga is a trade piece. Hes too injury prone.
No for Giants lol he's not worth it (Berrios)
33.3 million a year for Framber Valdez is insane lmao! Glad its the Mets.
Berrios has been one of the most durable pitchers in baseball for years. Keep him.
Mets will over pay for a past his prime Valdez and I cant wait to laugh.
Jim I love that Cubs trade. (Even though Kepley looks great) Horton, Glasnow, Wiggins, Boyd with Taillon, Steele, Imanaga as depth? 🔥
You’re out of your mind are you speaking as a Blue Jays fan on the Tyler glassnow trade The guy is a top end starter and you’re talking about trading him and adding 20 million to get a number 12 and 13 player in somebody’s organization. I like most of your scenarios that is Ludacris if the daughters trade him they’re gonna get a decent haul back. The guy is still a toptwo pitcher in almost anybody’s rotation.
The Dodgers are not trading Glasnow for prospects. The last thing the Dodgers need to do is to free up money. Glasnow, Sheehan for Skubal. Tigers get an ace and up and coming #2. Or Glasnow for Duran. Those type of deals.
Steven Kwan for Dalton Rushing (at least as a starting point for a trade)
Why is this process so slow it's the only sport that excepts this nonsense
Glasnow for Skubal only viable trade please!!💙
The METS should trade for JOSE BERRIOS.
