HC Evason on close losses and Jacket’s standings

  1. Sticking together doesn’t fix what’s clearly structural issues in how the team handles playing with the lead.

This reads less like an explanation on what they need to do and more like outright pleading not to be fired…

  2. What the fuck does that mean? How about use two forecheckers in the third period? What if we actually took advantage of the last change to put our best players on the ice?

  3. I know it’s “hate Evason” SZN but there’s definitely a mental hurdle they need to figure out how to get past. This has happened with multiple coaches.

  4. I don’t need a Stanley Cup winning team. I need a team that doesn’t embarrass me when I say I’m a fan.

Blowing leads like they do is embarrassing.

  5. I would like to hear the FO/coaching explain why the same flaws are present at the minor league level, too.

Sick of hearing the boilerplate crap every game. Something is broken. McCarthy shouldn’t even be employed.

What a useless word salad that response is… doesn’t offer any confidence in the product. He planning a run for office?

  6. Would mean a lot more if CBJ could become a well respected team again. But it all starts with the upper management. You know, how much are they listening to Dean when he wants to build the team. Are they getting the type of players that he needs for his brand to work? Are the players being utilized in a system that brings their skills into play? Are you giving massive contracts to goalies who are sub-par and barely make .500 on a good season just because you like them as a person?

It’s no secret I can’t stand Elvis, and he is a big part of the blame for some of these losses over the years. (not just this year, but all the years) They threw him in and said “sink or swim”, while letting 2 much better goalies go onto other teams. (Korpi and Tarsov) Both of those other goalies EARNED the contract Elvis was gifted, more so Korpi as he and Bob were a great combo. But again, that all comes down to management. The day Elvis went to management saying “he’s not a number 2 goalie” they should have traded him right there. Take what you can get in return and get that Jeff Carter like cancer out of the locker room.

I’d love to see some actual accountability for actions. Even if it means giving Dean a “healthy scratch” from the game to see if anyone in the pipeline shows promise. Or benching someone besides Chinny. Hell, I’d be happy if they’d stop f’n with the lines for a few games and let them build chemistry together. It’s gotta be hard when every 3rd shift you’re playing with different people.
