  1. Vrabes ripping off his helmet immediately lmao. what year did refs start flagging that

  2. McGinest had just faked an injury to slow down the Colts offense, so him sprinting to mid-field in celebration apparently no worse for the wear was pretty funny

  3. Classic Bill moment here.

Camera cuts to him and he doesn’t look one bit happy or relieved. Finds Tom to discuss what I imagine is the only thing on his mind – the next play backed up against our own goal line.z

  4. On the telecast of this game, I think it was on 3rd down, they cut away from the game cause it was preempted by the 4pm game. Screamed at the tv and frantically waited for the ticker to show the result.

  5. One of my favorite memories of the early dynasty. Willie getting “hurt” to stop the clock and give us a chance to breathe for a minute only to run around like a maniac after fourth down will always make me smile.

  6. I was actually there for this one.

Considering how much trouble we used to have with the Colts and Peyton Manning at the time, the thought of stopping them 4x in a row like this was almost unfathomable. Also, as you can tell from the score, it was a lot of offense, which only led us to that conclusion even more so.

    We were ecstatic.

  7. McGinest did a great podcast on Edelman’s show talking about this game. Highly recommend.

  8. Memories of times like these is why I still take anything Dungee says about the Pats with a grain of salt lol. What was it a couple weeks ago he said the Bills would still win the afc east.

  9. I still remember Peyton saying he knows Patriots fans were sad to see him retire because they got so many wins off him and the Colts. You’re alright in my book, Peyton.

  10. That was the game where the dynasty started to feel real. The win at Denver a few weeks earlier was the preview.

I recall they jumped out to an early lead, maybe 14-0, then gave up some points, then Bethel Johnson returned a kick for a TD right before halftime. They needed that.

  11. I was there with my dad. It was so damn loud I had to keep my ears covered. Colts fans would bang on the metal support beams as hard as they could.

  12. What was not mentioned was that the then-punter, Ken Walter had just an 18-yard punt to put the Colts in excellent field position to start that drive to make this set of agonizing downs…

  13. I was driving my then gf, now wife to route 128 station so she could go back to college. I was sitting at the cvs and listening and celebrating in the driver seat. Super distinct memory

  15. Pretty crazy looking back, stopping a HOF QB, HOF RB, HOF WR and another borderline HOF WR on the goal line 4 straight times is pretty nuts. Just shows how much high level work was going into these Colts/Pats games in that time. I remember New England went into half up 31-10 after Bethel Johnson returned a kickoff for a TD. Indy came out with a fury in the second half. But Tai Streets, of all WRs (or maybe JJ Stokes. I may be getting my Niner late 90s WR flameouts mixed up.), grabbed a Tom Brady TD Pass that pushed their total to 38.
