Review of Stars vs Oilers, the Only Game Played November 25th, 2025
Welcome back. All right, so my face is starting to get a little bit more normal. There’s a little bit of freezing left in in in the front of my face. The rest of it’s all fine. Glad I’m not in any kind of pain, which is good. Always irritates people. I got my wisdom teeth out back when the the channel was was new. Uh back in like 2017, I thought I got to take them out or maybe 2016. And I didn’t miss a day. I didn’t miss a day. I wasn’t in a lot of pain. I kept waiting for it. It didn’t come. And uh people got mad at me about that. And I’m not talking about viewers. I mean people in my actual co my actual co-workers at the time um because they were like, “Oh, you’re gonna be down for days.” And then the next day I was like, “Hey guys.” And they’re like, “What?” Yeah, I have my wisdom teeth out. Kind of suck. Anyways, uh Andrew versus Skinner. Uh good early back and forth. Uh though no early shots as Dallas was playing the Oilers in the only game of the night, so I don’t need time stamps. So there’s that. Uh defensive clinic through 3 minutes. Stop laughing. Uh, I have to write down what I’m watching. And with the first three minutes was a lot of defense. Mapani to dry settle. There’s a near miss. And then at 348, Ben buries a cross crease pass from Johnston. He finally gets it. It does not come off the board. Jamie Ben has been waiting for this 400th goal. For a while. Uh, it’s been a long while since he hit 399. I believe multiple times he’s had goal 400 and each time it gets taken back. It’s like Landiskog’s first goal this season. Uh there are other players too that over the years I’ve tracked waiting for their first goal because every time they get it, it’s taken back. So yeah, it’s one- nothing for Dallas. Uh and that was the game’s first shot. So again, it was a quiet game. Oilers look to respond, “The shots are only one a piece at 6 minutes.” And I wrote something funny on the board, and I I want to do this more often. Um I may not need an 80s magnet for this one in that it didn’t look like we’re going to get a lot of goal scoring. The defense was tying things down. There weren’t very many shots. That was going to change. So, the Stars press at six and a half minutes. Majapani can’t bury one on a rush. Uh, there’s more pressure by the Oilers at seven and a half minutes. A net feed to Beck near miss there. Uh, there’s a post for Ben as the Stars press. Dallas then draws a power play and they score on it at 1050. Hints puts a rebound into the open net. Hastenan and Robertson with the assist cuz of course Hasten and Robertson ridiculous runs they’ve been on. The Oilers press for response but they’re stuck on one shot. And then at 1524, Bastion scores. He reverse one on a net drive from the right circle. Fox and Blackwell with the assists. Three nothing Dallas in the first period. Uh and that’s three goals on six shots. So this is where the rumbling starts about Skinner. Would another goal mean the end of Skinner? Well, the Stars score, but it’s waved off for a high stick. They review it. No goal. You could have pulled Skinner there. Yes, it was a high stick. It was not a goal. You could have pulled Skinner there. and said, “It’s just not working out. We want to change things.” So, the Oilers press with two minutes left. And then, well, Dallas runs the other way at 1846. Steel burries a loose puck behind Skinner. Ben and Johnston with the assists. It’s 4- nothing in the first period in Edmonton for Dallas. I believe Edmonton came into this one 5-1 and two at home. Not after tonight. Uh 39 or 36.9 seconds left. The Oilers get a power play. dry settle to Heyman near miss at the net and it’s 4 nothing for the Dallas Stars after one second period uh Pickard starts the second as we all knew the worstkept secret uh was that Pickard would beat the starter in the second period. The Stars finished the kill just the one shot during that power play. I I’ I’ve got to take a take a drink from my beverage here. Just one second. As did an announcer during this game. We’ll we’ll talk about that in a bit. But anyways, uh the Oilers are Nope, we’re down here. Uh so Starch kill, one shot. Fans are pretty quiet at this point. In fact, there’s a Bronx cheer for Calvin Pickard when he makes the save, which isn’t fair. If you’re going to throw a Bronx cheer at anybody, you throw it at Skinner, the guy who hasn’t allowed a goal yet. You can’t throw Bronx. It’s just poor usage of the Bronx cheer. Uh Steel has I don’t care. Steel has a net drive that’s saved. Hasten has a shot that’s held as the Stars press. And then at 439, Edmonton gets on the board. Clattenberg gets his first National Hockey League goal. He buries a rebound from the doorstep. Emerson and Yanmark with the assists. Jack Michaels was so excited on this goal call. He kind of blew up his voice and it was so coarse, so horsearo and and kind of coarse sounding as well. Obviously, um I I thought are would they replace him in in the booth? Can he keep going? So, his voice is suddenly kind of kind of quiet. Apparently, he’s been fighting something over the last little bit. Um and and so it it just changes the sound. Uh things are pushy on a hold by Ottoner. So we get two minutes of four on four. Shots are eight to five for the Oilers with nine minutes left. Stars draw a power play. That becomes 38 seconds of five on three. Uh the Stars would call a timeout before the five on three. By this point, Michael’s voice is back. While Michael’s voice was not back, though, I want to give props to Louis de Brrisk. He didn’t call the playbyplay, but he kept talking. He kept talking. There wasn’t a bunch of dead air. and he was just, you know, insights on the game kind of stuff. So, I thought that was entertaining. Uh, so the Stars call a timeout before the 38 second five on three. They score during the five on three. So, the timeout worked. It’s a cross crease pass and buried. Robertson scores from Sean and Johnston at 1401. So, he was a 7game goalcoring streak. I think it’s 13 goals. It’s 12 or 13 goals over that streak. He passes the team record of six in terms of a game goalcoring streak set by Mike Mado. So, that’s the kind of Robertson that I’ve been expecting for years, and he’s shown up and he uh gets uh Dallas back that four-goal lead. Then at 1534 during the five on four, uh Johnston, he gets his I think 25th power play goal of the season. It’s insane. Johnston scores from Robertson and Sean at 1534, he buries his own rebound from the doorstep. May turn out to be an echome own goal. If you look at the replay, last I looked, I didn’t see that it was. Um it doesn’t end up being a big deal. Uh Bourke has a rush chance that saved the Stars press to close it out and we get Boob Birds at the horn. And I don’t blame him. I I don’t blame Oiler fans for booing them. This is a team that was on the road for about two weeks. They come home and they do what teams that have been out on for two weeks do. This is something that with this lopsided NHL schedule, these really long road trips are brutal and everybody’s going through them. Everybody is. It’s brutal for injuries. It’s brutal for energy level. and then you come home, you go out on the ice and I understand if you put out a really bad uh effort or not necessarily a bad effort, but you have a bad game. Doesn’t mean the effort’s not there. Uh at 123 into the third period, Edmonton gets a little bit of hope. Uh Booard, it’s a point shot pass to screen off of a good forche. Pod Coulson and Dry Cidle with the assists. Shots are two nothing Oilers at 3 minutes. Pod Coulson has a rush chance is caught and held. We then get a power play for Dallas that’s killed off. No shots on net. So Edmonton getting some positives in this period, but uh Bousard has a one-time held. There’s some pushing and not long after at 8:21, Fritz Kovian bat bats a shot that deflects in. Uh there was no challenge for a high stick. I think it was a high stick maybe by Herzovian, but I think it hit the Oiler player before it went in. Uh McDavid Seavoy with the assist at or not? No, a Bour and Collic with the assist at 821. I can’t be getting ahead of myself in this, can I? Can I blame dental work for that? Um so u after that at 9:29 Rosik buries a rebound off the post. McDavid had hit the post. So McDavid gets the assist. Seavoy gets the other assist. So we have a 7 to3 game instead of 7 to2. Um clearly the Oilers trying to avoid the no mercy magnet. That was likely the key. Um so I’m kidding of course and I put right here I needed the 80s magnet after all because it became 7 to three 10 goals or more. Uh, Stars look to respond. There’s a pressure by the Dallas Stars with seven and a half minutes left. McDavid hits a crossbar and a breakaway and then a 1537. Bastion buries one from the slot. Radic Foxa with the assist. 8 to3. So with 20.7 seconds left, the Oilers get a power play. They have a chance to get away from that Mercy game. They don’t. Final score is 8 to3 for Dallas. Uh, the 80s magnets’s on the board. Um, this this magnet I’m going to hold it up to camera. See, now the camera doesn’t doesn’t automatically adjust. Isn’t that great? All right. So, I actually I’m I’m glad I’m glad that now when I upload videos, I don’t have to worry about YouTube messing around with the video quality, so nobody can read what’s on the board. But it says on here 1987 hits. So, yeah, there you go. 1987 hits and the No Mercy magnet, of course, cuz five goal difference. It’s a no mercy game. Uh shots on net 85 Dallas in the first, 15-10 Dallas in the second, 10 to9 Edmonton in the third. Final shots 30 to 25 for the Stars. Power plays Dallas 3 for four. Edmonton 0 for1. Hits 22 to 17 for Edmonton. Aer saves 22 out of 25. Skinner saved four out of eight. Pickard saved 18 out of 22. So we’re back. Like Skinner has a good game and then this happens. Then he has a good game and then it happens and then it’s just and it’s that back and forth and it it drives people nuts. So will they change things? Maybe, maybe not. Uh the three stars in this one were Johnston, Robertson, and Ben. Um the Stars with this win, they pull within five points of first place Colorado. They are four points ahead of Minnesota in second place in the division. The Oilers, tougher spot for them. They’re two points back of the playoffs. They are now 10, 10, and five. So they are down to NHL 500. They’ve got to be better than this. They do have other games, of course, coming up. So we’ll see if things get better for them then. But let me know your thoughts in the comment section below. As always, hit like and subscribe in the event you may not have done so already. Thank you guys so much for all your support. It’s greatly appreciated. I will talk to you again soon.
Just the one game.

This game didn't deserve ok mic audio by Oilers
As a stars fan, how do you feel about the new jersey reveal?
Nice anti-jinx with the "80's magnet".
Oilers don’t have a goaltending problem. Let’s change the backup goaltender.
Knob was out coached by Gully
Hey Shannon, you gonna get one of the '99 jerseys?
Oilers refuse to trade of Skinner and Pickard because "They are nice guys"
Shannon wearing the star jersey in tribute to the template coming back as a third jersey. Love to see it
No doubt Stars had a little motivation but the Oilers didn't even try to play D.
My Stars are looking solid.
"Friendship wins Stanley cups"

4:24 Why Oilers broadcasts are unwatchable.
It's difficult to fairly rate a goalie when the team is not helping him at all. In my opinion, in the previous game against the Panthers all players seemed to be really engaged, being aggressive on the forecheck, fighting for pucks, etc. Whenever there was a loose puck near the crease after a rebound, all Oiler's players (not only D-men) fought fiercely to recover the puck immediately. As a result of this, Skinner's performance happened to be quite good. What would happen if the Oilers played all games with this spirit? I bet SV% would increase very quickly.
Hope you're doing good today.
Skinner isn't good but he isn't the reason why they're getting hammered by good teams. It's the awful defense play of the team in general, especially the two stars.
80 dollar tickets nose bleeds and it was a bad game last night
Edmonton: has it, possibly, stopped playing? Way too early for this, I know, but… what is this?! I'm not even an Edmonton fan and even I'm panicking for them.
I wouldn’t blame the goalies for that one. Every replay of goals you can see an oiler reaching with his stick because his feet were way behind the skater with the puck. The stars were rested and the oil weren’t. That being said, the stars played their best hockey, and they looked good. Maybe this is the year we finally beat the oil in the WCFs?….the 90s revenge tour must end sometime, hopefully
Love it when the stars blow out the coilers, wonder if McDouche threw another locker room hissy fit.
1 and o yerstday 172 and 156 and 32 recorc in the season
The Rangers may be .500 but their defense is worlds better than last year. Oilers believe they can out score everyone?
As a Stars fan, why can't the Oilers play like this in the playoffs?
I'm sure you will get the new 3rd jersey the Stars released yesterday. I think they're cool looking.
