Giannis Antetokounmpo Postgame Media Availability | 11.29.25
felt really good. Uh I think um guys came in, set the tone. Um they were on the back to back. We were on the back to back, but we fight for our lives. Um literally I think guys came in. We got a lot of deflection. We moved the ball. Not just move the ball and find the open man. We move it side to side. We were aggressive getting downhill. Um playing good basketball. Not just moving the ball just to move the ball. We’re being decisive with the ball. to remove the ball to score the ball and create an advance for the next person. Um, good game. Uh, I’m happy that Scoot is back. I think gives another dimension to our team. A guy that can handle the ball, create his own shot or create a shot for um teammates. Um, good win. Let’s build from this. We have another one against Watson I think a few days and hopefully we can go in there and try to get a win and then keep on building from that. Get back on track. just getting scooted back. I mean, you saw him throw the alleyoop to you. Like, how how big is that just working on your chemistry with him? You guys haven’t had a lot of time together. It’s crazy. We haven’t had a lot of time together, but we I think we have great communication. Um, he’s able to find me, make tough pass, find me in transition, find me in half court, loss, you know. Um, he’s been aggressive. I’ve told him from day one, you got to be aggressive. You got to make sure you turn the corner, get in the paint, and get to a spot to create your own shot because the more threat you are, the more open going to be. So, he’s playing, he’s playing basketball. He’s just playing with his instincts, reading the play, making very good plays for himself, making good plays for the team. Um, sometimes he might make a play for me, sometimes he just might make a play for the team. I love playing with him. a guy that haven’t played for like two months and be able to come back in and uh play in a way that uh seemed that he he was just like playing with us. Yesterday it’s is incredible. Now, you know, uh obviously the first game always you have adrenaline, you know, you feel good. Uh you feel no pain and then the moment the game it’s over, you’re like, “Ah, I’m kind I’m kind of sore.” Um, so you know when you haven’t played in a while, the second game always is the toughest one because that jitters that you have in the first game, you don’t have them anymore. And uh, he just got to keep on take good care of his body. Um, as I said, he adds another level to our team and hopefully he can stay healthy, guys can stay healthy and we just keep on moving forward and keep on playing good basketball. Uh, with his ability to attack, it’s obvious what you guys can do maybe better offensively. What do you feel like having him back does for you guys defensively? Oh, he’s he’s incredible. Especially when you have Ryan. Ryan is good out there. Uh just that just make it tough. You know, sometimes I get him I get a hand, you know, in the ball end. Uh I might not be able to get it and then all of a sudden you see a guy just, you know, coming from the backside and getting the ball and sometimes it’s right and sometimes it’s good. Just having those both guys on the court, you just make it tough for the other guards. the both can guard. Um, and I think he um, Scoot is like deceiving. Like he’s like 67, six, seven and a half. Like he’s he’s big, you know what I’m saying? Like he um, you know, he can put his hands and get deflection. He can get the rebounds. Um, he’s able to guard. So just having him out there defensively, you know, it’s big. I think the team the other team scored like 53 55 points in the half. So we’re happy for that. Doc, talk about uh he was a little bit surprised by how vocal KBJ was talking about you guys needing to get back. Just what does he do? Not only uh with his with his voice now. He’s mature. I think u he’s mature you know as the as the time goes by uh he’s more comfortable under his skin and he’s more mature and um he understand that his voice is important in the team and like uh when he sees something he should speak up and guys in this locker room go and listen guys want um that leader they want that that uh person that’s going you know keep on you know talking and giving direction to the team. Uh because sometimes one voice just get ting or if you keep on hearing coach Doug’s voice or you keep on hearing Finess’s voice or you keep on hearing anybody other voice you just keep on getting tired you know. So just have a new voice uh it’s big and we want him to be more vocal because what he says the right thing you know as long as you’re saying the right thing you want being vocal. You talked about with Mel after the game but scoring 21,000 career points and having the tribute video on the screen. Just what do those moments mean to you? Um, yeah. I think when I was younger and a couple years ago, I’m like, “Yeah, you know, it’s another day at the at the office. Let me just do my job, go back home.” Uh, but you know, as you getting older, you start appreciating those moments. You don’t take it for granted. You know, coach came in and he told me that there’s only like 11 or 12 players who ever scored 21,000 points with one team. And through the history of the game, and you’re like, you know, wow. um you know being a a kid from Greece from Saporia where I grew up in a small neighborhood that u not a lot of u you know u let’s say great things happen there or come out of there to be able to be in the stage and um 13 years later to score 21,000 points I’m very appreciative you know I’ve had great support system by myself my family um God by my side that they’ve guide me through my whole journey and happy uh I have a lot of things a lot of chapters that I want to keep on like closing uh moving forward so I just got to stay locked in job is not done now you got to start from the little things you got to win two two games in a row we have another one in two days so no matter what my goals are in five years seven years 10 years down the line doesn’t matter we got to survive on Monday. Monday, we got to survive that game. So, take it a game at a time. That’s what I’ve done my whole career. Never thought I’m going to be in this position in this chair for as many years as as I’ve been. Um, and I don’t know what God has. I don’t know what God has a hold of me moving forward. I just got to keep on keep my head down, keep on working hard, keep on being disciplined, keep on being available for my teammates. And uh I know great things going to happen because uh I put I put in the work. I don’t think there’s anybody more discipline than me. So I know great things are ahead ahead for me. Uh sixth youngest I believe the five to do it faster than you are a who’s who of people in the history of basketball. Um just to have your name alongside those names. Obviously, you have a long ways to go to, you know, get to the top of those scoring lists in another seven, eight years or whatever it might be. But just to be in that conversation with those guys, what is that going to be? Um, first of all, we got to talk about who those guys are, you know, because I just saw those those guys. Talk about Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Wilt, and Kevin Durant. You know, I think it’s the goats of the goats. And I don’t think anybody disagree in this room. I don’t think anybody in this world disagree just to be in that list with them uh is incredible. Um have I accomplished as much as them? I don’t I don’t think so. Uh do I have a lot of uh room to improve and room to grow in uh years to keep on um you know writing my own legacy? Yes. And I think to go to get to the to the top of the scoring list is not six is not six, seven, eight years away. I think it’s in my opinion I think it’s four years away you know four four five years away four and a half years away I think when we are going to be 35 years old and sitting this year going to have a discussion of I am I am in the top list of all time in scoring and uh and I’ve I would have t that into existence and not just t into existence because I I believe that I’m going to do it it’s something that I want to And um but hey again that’s too far away. Four five years from now I might have four other kids. My I don’t know you know my wife might have have left me. Who knows maybe four five years from now four five years uh prior to this I had zero I had I didn’t had kids and I have kids. So I just got to worry about Monday Monday against Washington and uh stay healthy. leave that game healthy, leave that game with a win. And you know, when uh when it’s all said and done, we’ll we you know, we’ll sit down and and do the math.

GA is one of the 🐐
Yall set a very good time all night, don’t let up. Don’t let up. Let’s go bucks!! Giannis is the most valuable player on the floor and in the league
As giannis would say "good teams win more than one in a row" Oh that was lose more than one in a row.. my mistake..let's see how it goes against the wiz and then a real team in detroit .. we win those and we might have something cookin..
Does anyone else see his sense of humor as a giant bonus? What an absolute star! Jordan has a pretty good sense of humor as well…
Wilt, MJ, Giannis 🐐🐐🐐 🥳

beat the pistons at home…make the doubters believe again and go from there.
Can the bucks ask Andre if he remembers uncle saul
Think like this. The shot quality was as good as any elite team this season. What I saw from two guards and then Green fixed at the 3, or if he’s injured -> Kuzma being at the 3 in the starting lineup next to Giannis and Turner seems awesome for shot quality and creation. Excellent. Off the bench, we must prioritize: defense. The starting lineup: creation. Because Giannis and Turner can already do so much defensively. Therefore I’m fine with a guy like Cole Anthony being used to sub KPJ or Rollins in the starting lineup amidst the situation of injury, but off the bench the Gary Harris(who is using Taurean Prince’s role rn), Trent, Kuzma, Bobby crew I expect to be a handful defensively. That’s more important for us rn off the bench than a pg.
I know they've lost a ton of games in a row, and they just cannot be put in contender tier, but the defense is getting much better. As bad as things have been they are 3 games out of 5. Just gotta keep going game by game.
Love you Gianni!
