We played good!
Should’ve put it away in the 4th but blew it with the 13-0 run. Classic Sixers
Blow it up man
Maxey played 52 mins just to lose. He needs help.
good game
team looked good. positive steps
Jalen Johnson is a monster
I mean the team has zero chemistry since they don’t play together due to injuries. Nurse is all over the place coaching wise and they are running Maxey into the ground with all these minutes. Only solution to all of this is that they have to PLAY as a group consistently over time, which we all know most likely won’t happen. It’s a miracle they were even in this, which says a lot of the teams ceiling.
Nick nurse is a terrorist with these maxey minutes. He is going to kill him smh
Glad I had to sit through another half hour of basketball for that
Embiids defensive presence was huge in the late part of game . he still has it, but obviously conserves energy in the first half it seems
They sure have a kink of losing at home lol.. Is it 2022 again? Joel’s MVP case that year got derailed because the team lost so many important games at home
Barlow played 45 minutes lol. Should have played Edwards some in OT
Refs had put Nick Nurse on mute since the first quarter and honestly who can blame them?
Did Drummond re-injure himself? Why did he not even reach the 6 minute mark?
lmao at Maxey’s stats being equal or greater than Embiid and PG’s combined
I hate being a fan of this team 🙂 but I also love it. Pain
Extremely frustrating. The Hawks were without three of their best players, and the Sixers were at home. Maxey had a great game, but couldn’t sink even one to make in an even tougher job for Atlanta, and if he sinks both, it’s over.
Obviously can’t solely blame Maxey for this, but when you’re *the* guy you’re gonna rightfully take some heat for missing those two ft’s. We aren’t in the game without Maxey, but that also turned a surefire win to a loss. Unfortunate.
Who else feels like embiid just should not have been in the game after regulation
PG and Embiid man, what a disaster. Imagine if we had used that money on good young role players to build around Maxey.
Brutal brutal loss. Lot you can dissect and break down but we had a pretty clean chance to win w our best ft shooter on the line (not blaming Maxey *at all*, he’s the one who kept us in). Just one of those games
Hard to win a game on a team thats as 3 reliant as the Sixers when you shoot 20% as a team. Still had a chance to win but fucked by the refs and then Maxey chokes the game winning free throws. Unlucky.
On to the next
There is so much iso on this team that it’s hard to feel like even if everything goes to plan from an injury standpoint, that they won’t be solely reliant on winning through individual brilliance rather than team brilliance.
Here’s hoping they can get through December, play games together and figure their roles out.
Hard to be too pissed as that was the first game with the big 3 and their lack on continuity showed. Hopefully we can figure out how to move the ball a little more.
Playing teams like Toronto and Atlanta is frustrating because there’s so many cutters and their effort is exceptional.
Having 4 guards with none of them being great distributors is tough. Shoot, no one on this team for that point.
I like the idea of Bona but honestly having him in the 2nd OT sealed the L for us. Not a great rebounder, doesn’t really provide anything offensively, just kind of a body who gets some put backs once in a while and an occasional block. Tons of effort but low IQ.
As currently constructed The teams probably a .500 team that will end up as 6 or 7 seed losing in the first round.
Not mad, it is what it is. Trying to find joy somehow watching them cause what’s the point in watching them if we’re all just gonna be pissed off every post game.
Just a normal 3 point shooting night and maybe things wind up different.
Anyway Jalen Johnson hopefully had the courtesy to buy the Sixers dinner after that one.
So they benched VJ during the whole 4Q + OT, knowing that he’s one of our best clutch player…… how is he on a tighter minute restriction than Embiid? Is his calf tightness worst than what we thought?
I think Nick Nurse is the problem all this talent but can’t get us easy buckets when needed, no PG in any of the OT’s either and even VJ is insane
just a heartbreaker of a loss
Love having the traffic cone version of Embiid on defense
Maxey shot 15% from 3
It’s really blatant whenever he’s not in there how much this rotation misses Oubre. With PG in the reduced state he’s in, Oubre is our literal only athletic bouncy wing that can guard. Wide open shots all night due to poor rotations
Just another bad loss tbh. We’re dropping lots of home games that we just shouldn’t, and it’s gonna cost us by the end of the year.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker stats: 4-yr, $62 million contract, 34 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 6 3PM
Paul George stats: 4-yr, $212 million contract, 6/17 FG, 2/8 from 3, and 5 steals
This was definitely a game where we needed Drummond badly. We couldn’t rebound the ball at all and embiid has no lateral movement or jumping ability.
We didn’t play well and almost won. Losing dramatic fashion stings but I’m not going to overreact. Getting our guys on the floor provides valuable film. They will have off days coming up to learn from what they say tonight and integrate improvements. Health continues to be the X factor.
I’m ngl I am like 99% sure Johnson stepped out of bounds before getting fouled on those FTs that sent it to double OT
Tough to win in double OT with three starters benched from minutes limits being reached. Love the no quit attitude from the team. On to the next one.
Guessing Maxey is gonna put up a nasty stretch where he misses lots of 3’s and fucks his 3P percentage up again
Alexander walker barely averaged 9 points a game last year. Where did this come from
It’s frustrating because a good amount of the Sixers losses this season has come down to a small point differential.
A good bucket or two away from being 14-5 or 13-6. You could say vice versa for the wins too but they haven’t been getting blown out in most of their losses this season.
That’s the difference maker and why the record doesn’t reflect the effort the team has put in this season.
Everyone is hating on this loss but we shot like 7-31 from 3? I’m not mad about it, as long as embiid and pg stay playing

How that Johnson dude shoot 22 free throws?
There’s no moral victories we couldn’t beat Miami at home no Tyler hero and Wiggins got beat by 40 by Orlando at home missing their stars and now lose to hawks at home without their stars this is very alarming.

Watched this game live, we lose in regulation without Maxey’s heroics but I was dumbfounded when he missed the two FT’s to ice the game.

tfw maxey hits an insane shot to tie the game but then misses two free throws
fun game. Lots of good, lots of bad, would’ve loved the win.
Maxeys stats so far:
