Canucks Open For Business. O’Reilly Asking Price, Rangers Waive Parssinen, Lucic Released

Welcome back. All right, so it’s going to be obvious to people right off the hop that I’m not talking normal, that I’m posting my videos far later than normal. Uh, and these things are related. So, I went to the dentist this morning. Uh, we had arranged for an 8:00 in the morning visit. We figured whatever he has planned will take less than 2 hours. We were wrong. Uh, it ended up being 3 and 1/2 hours and it’s not done. So, going to have to go back uh in January to get uh I mean the the teeth on this side are done. I had teeth that were bothering me. I did a members video about it. That tooth is now fixed. So, members, yay. Uh but yeah, the the teeth on that side are fixed. Now I can stop being paranoid about that. Uh January, we start getting worked on here, here, and here. And that’s the fun of it. So, uh basically, when you grow up in the 80s, you got a lot of silver fillings in your mouth. And uh dentists today want to get those silver fillings out and replace them. And so that’s what we’re in the process of doing as well as getting my teeth straightened out. So still got my own teeth. Um so we’ll go ahead and we’ll do the news video. We’ll start off at the top of the board today. Um if the if the house seems really quiet, it’s cuz the whole family’s off at a concert. I’m not going to the concert. I’m going to a concert tomorrow. So uh the Canucks, they’re on the list again. It is interesting because I understand the criticism when people are like h it’s just it’s like it’s a Canucks channel. The Canucks generate so much drama all the time. There’s drama on the ice, drama off the ice, drama with the fans, sometimes drama with other fans of other teams. It’s just this team has drama on top of drama on top of drama. And they have struggled to entice players to come and play for them. Um, that’s been a conversation point the last couple of years where they have they’ve definitely got spots in the roster for somebody, but players don’t want to come. Uh, I think they they hurt themselves by not keeping Suitor. I think that there’s been some personnel decisions that are still a big headshake by this franchise. And I just did a video on the Conucks, but if I end up needing to do another video on the Conucks, I don’t mind that. I think if Patrick Alvine at some point is decided to be the scapegoat and he’s on his way out, if that ends up happening, uh, then maybe I could do a video on the career of Patrick Alvine and where it all went wrong. He had a pretty good year there when the Conucks were in the playoffs and number one in the division. And since then, disaster. Yep. It’s been a disaster, but it’s the Conucks. So, one of the ways that that uh that that I approach the Conucks is always with well, they’re not going to win it this year, so we’ll see what happens. It’s always the way I look at it. Um, now other Canucks news. Uh, Quinn Hughes is not amongst the players that are on the block, so they’re not moving Quinn Hughes. And, uh, Kevin Lankin is not on the road trip for personal reasons. No offense to Yuri Patera, but man, this is not a good time to be going down to your third string goalender. Uh the she loves comments are what they are. If the Canucks were going to keep Sheilovs, they would have had to have traded Lankanin with the extension they just gave Laninan. I don’t think it would have looked good on the surface to trade him after he signs the extension. Would it have been the smart move to make? Yes. Uh do I understand why they didn’t make it? Also, yes. They backed themselves into a corner. Um that’s the thing. When I say I understand why they did this, I’m not saying I agree with them doing it. That’s that’s the difference. I’ll say, “Oh, I understand. Doesn’t mean I agree.” Um, so yeah. Uh, there there may be another Vancouver Conucks video in the offing. Hopefully after my my face gets back to being what it was. This also meant I didn’t get to go to the optometrist today to get my eye checked out. So, I’ve still got the blurry eye and now I can’t talk right either. Uh, Milan Luchich has been released from his AHL try out. So, they gave him a shot. They gave it a look and it didn’t work out. Uh, playing for I believe Springfield in the American Hockey League. five games, just the one assist. Uh Luchich, I thought it was pretty obvious his career was done after his last season and and so this attempt to come back has not worked out, but u I would expect we’ll see Luchi probably retire over the next couple of weeks unless he decides to go over to Europe and play there. Uh but Luchich’s NHL career is probably at an end at this point. Uh Rasmus Anderson, speaking of careers at Crossroads, uh his contract’s up at the end of this season. So the speculation is whether or not Rasmus Anderson will stay or will go. He’s open to either. He’s been open to either the whole way. And as recently as this week, when asked has said he is fine with taking things as they are, he’s fine staying in Calgary. It’s certainly not negatively impacting his play. So it definitely sounds like if Anderson wants to stay and the Flames want to make it happen, it’ll happen. Um, I I think that for the Flames and for where they’re at and where they’re going, I I do think moving Anderson makes a lot of sense. I think they could give a pretty good prospect or draft pick for him, but we’ll see what happens. Uh, Parson of the New York Rangers has been waved. The New York Rangers got back 10 NHL 500 with a win over the Blues last night, but they’re not fooling anybody right now. And the New York Rangers are just they’re kind of a mess. So nice to see them win on home ice, but they lost a couple on the road. And can they continue to win on home ice? They’ve shown now that they can beat Nashville and St. Louis at home. They need to show that they can hold their own against one of the the the big guns in the East would be nice uh for the Rangers to show that they’re really and truly back. Uh Andre Fetchnikov, a very talented forward who never quite scores as many points as you would expect from Andre Fetchnikov. He has revealed that he deleted social media a couple years ago. Good on him. I think a lot of hockey players should do that. I know that there are various figures in Sporting World who have done that. I understand it. Uh totally get it. You just don’t want to be on there, then you’re not on there. Um he actually finds it really easy to delete such things is how he put it. Uh that it’s it doesn’t bother him. So basically teammate, yep, he’ll listen. Coach, he’ll listen. Uh management, he’ll listen. Trainers, yep. uh some unknown person with a first name and a whole bunch of numbers on Twitter. He’s not interested. So yeah, uh Septnikov I think proves a point here and and I I do wish there were more and more athletes that would do so. Uh Sherro has been fined coming out of that game against the Devils last night uh for a butt end on Nemits. So Nez got buttended by Sherro. Uh if you believe that it was not worthy of a fine, you’ll be angry. And if you believe this should have been a suspension, you will also be angry. So, Department of Player Safety once again doing a bangup job making sure everybody stays just as mad as them mad at them as they were before. Um, the Stars have revealed their throwback to the 1999 Stanley Cup win. Can I say it’s the greatest jersey I’ve ever seen? So, it’s this jersey, just black, and it’s got the Kelly green on it. And um I think I’ll take six. Um I think I think I think that cuz cuz then then I could bring six to a meet up. I get various sizes and then I could just have a team. Now you great. This is my team, the Stars. And I’d have to make sure it was people that I didn’t think would wreck my jerseys. So um yeah, all kidding aside though, I’m I’m definitely getting one. I might be getting two cuz obviously the there’s the ones that I use on the set that I don’t want to get damaged and I I just wear them for videos and I take them off right away. And then there’s the meetup jerseys where I can go out play street hockey and sweat them up and wash them and everything else. And um you know, treat them like regular shirts. And uh this this Dallas Stars throwback absolutely fantastic. Uh as Van was getting ready for the concert, I called her in to show it to show her to her. Uh she didn’t really care. Uh but what I love is that she fains she cares. So it’s nice. It’s nice. Uh gentlemen, find yourselves a lady who pretends to care. And now there’s married guys going, “Do you pretend that you care?” And the wife goes, “Of course not. I always care. Everything you do is awesome.” Anyways, uh yeah, so if you haven’t already seen the black the black version of this jersey, you go check that out. It’s fantastic. Um the Norse trophy question I saw and I’m going to go ahead and pose it here and I’m going to answer it here as well. Uh can anyone challenge Kale Mar for the Norse Trophy? No. No. Uh Kale Mar, the Norris Trophy, it’s his. Uh unless something crazy happens, have to be an injury to Mar. Worky going on a ridiculous run beyond just the one he’s had this week. Um outside of that, I don’t think anybody challenges Macar for the Norris Trophy. I think it’s 100% his. And uh yeah, the the Colorado Avalanche are just playing some of the best hockey of any team in a very long time. Uh Logan Culie had a four-goal game last night. Uh, it was the first four-goal game in the history of the Mammoth. I thought the Mammoth announcers got a little bit too excited about it. And I say that only because four-goal game is great, but two of them were in the empty net. So, yes, it’s a four-goal game, but half of those four goals being into an empty net, it it’s not quite as scream worthy for me, but good on him. So, he becomes the first ever in uh Mammoth history to reach that mark, which is interesting because I’m sure Arizona had a four-goal uh game at at some point. Somebody had a four-goal game. And of course, that history stayed in Arizona along with the logos and the branding. Everything else went to Utah, which means they’re officially an expansion team. It’s weird. So gets the first four-goal game in Mammoth history and it’s nice to see him break out of that slump that he was in. I know the guy’s supremely talented. I’m not surprised to see him putting up goals at a ridiculous rate. He’s got a good nose for the net. A lot of the time with the younger players, it’s confidence and you can see it in their game that they suddenly figured out that confidence is there. It’s one of the reason Bernard’s numbers have gone up like crazy and uh is in that range as well. Uh, so if you’re looking for Ryan O’Reilly, the price right now apparently is a first round pick and an A-level prospect. Um, or or an A-level prospect, I think. Is it or so? H, why don’t I just do it this way? Andor an A-level prospect. I heard a couple of different ones. Um but it’s it’s a heavy price to pay. But Ryan O’Reilly, we know what he can do in the playoffs, right? So what you’re doing is you’re going out and getting the 2019 um Cons winner if you get uh Ryan O’Reilly on your team. I do think he’ll attract some interest. I don’t think it’ll be a first round pick and an A-level prospect. It might be a first round draft pick if it’s a team that’s picking in the middle. It might be an A-level prospect for a team that doesn’t have to worry about losing that A-level prospect. I think both would be a lot, but uh yeah, uh Nashville, they’re kind of open for business in the same vein as the Vancouver Conucks. And if Vancouver offers up the first round draft pick for Ryan O’Reilly, I’ll be crying right here on the board, right here on the floor. You’ll just hear sobs. Um I’ll get my wife to click the video started and I’ll just sit down here and sob for a while. Um I’m not going to be happy if a first round draft pick escapes the Conucks this year at all. So, and I know people are going to go, “Look at the record. Why would they do that?” They’re the Canucks. It’s just is what they do. There’s there’s this really really high-profile prospect that can go number one and um Canucks generally don’t seem to have interest in those. Go back and look at drafts where there’s these top guys that are available and then look at where Vancouver is drafting. It’s usually not a pretty picture. All right.
