Here’s how Yanks might improve roster as Winter Meetings near

  1. In particular, Hoch mentions the pen being a big priority over the starting staff, though Cashman himself has mentioned that they’d like to have another starter.

  2. It’s astonishing ho this team is close to a $300 million payroll and there’s so many holes and question marks on it. The allocation and spending of the money on this team has been so piss poor.

  3. >“I would always do that,” Cashman said. “I’m good at spending money.”

    Hmm, I dunno about that.

  4. I do not understand the chatter to trade Jazz instead of extending him. 30-30 players don’t grow on trees and he’s arguably the best second basemen in the AL, second best after Ketel in the majors

  5. I’m sorry but I’m not sure why so many people here want to just run it back again. They were a very good team last year but they were behind the Blue Jays and Dodgers at least in the playoffs, and they frankly looked clearly outmatched. The Jays have already added a starter. If the Yankees just resign a one year older Bellinger and sign a reliever to replace Weaver and Williams, ugh.

  6. We prob get 2 more RF and a DH, then “acquire” whatever starter comes back around the all star break. Get a real SS and 3B so we can take this team seriously please.
Yanks can absolutely have a payroll around $300m, but not with how the funds were allocated the last 5 years. Dont look at it as a payroll tax. It is stupidity tax and you can charge to your front office
