Blues give multiple SHOCKING updates… This changes EVERYTHING

The St. Louis Blues and Jim Montgomery give multiple shocking updates around the St. Louis Blues as we get updates surrounding key injuries to this roster. Plus a call from Springfield as the St. Louis Blues have to navigate a huge wave of brutal injuries. We have so much to break down in this episode and you’re not going to want to miss it. So Darius, let’s just dive straight in where we know the St. Louis Blues strung together some great wins over this past weekend. But today we’re given some brutal news. We can see two key injuries and I kind of just want to toss it to you quickly. What is your thoughts on this Blues team that kind of got things going but then immediately hit with these injuries? This is not what we were expecting to see this morning and we have more updates than even these two that we’re going to get to throughout the course of this video as well. This was been a very busy day for the Blues and Doug Armstrong. And as you can see, after a very good weekend, like you just mentioned, Jimmy Snugaroo is having surgery. Apparently, he injured himself, you know, over the course of one of the games this weekend, and he’s going to be having surgery. And I initially read this as he was not going to be out long term, but that’s not right. He is going to be out long term. This is doesn’t look like it’s something insignificant. This is a very significant injury that he’s going to have to uh recover from, at least a surgery he’s going to have to recover from. So, he’s already had surgery and he’s going to be out for an extended period of time. But not just that, in a season with some of the craziest injuries and the weirdest stuff we’ve seen going on around the league, Alexi Torpenko sustained a burn in a home incident. They’re not giving any specific details. That’s the second time that’s happened to a player after Lucer Rinan suffered burns from a barbecue that he was having as well earlier this season. So, some weird stuff going on in terms of injuries. So, uh, Torchpenko is out with burns, with an injury, that type of thing. And that doesn’t sound like it’s going to be too significant. Like he could be back in pretty short order here, but he’s going to miss a couple games. But it’s just been a weird year for stuff like that around the league and two major injuries to this Blues team. And not only that, there’s another injury. There’s a roster call up as well. There’s a lot to get to today. And I mean, the big thing is, we’ll touch on this first. We’ve seen Jim Montgomery speak and they said, “We’re not going to get that detailed. I know it was a home accident. So, we’re going to leave it at that.” Now listen, losing him out of the lineup, he’s not going to come out and be the most productive offensive player. But having the big body guy going out to lay hits, the physicality, setting the tone on the fourth line, I think this is going to be an underrated miss within this lineup. We know there’s a lot of skill within the lineup. We have Robert Thomas, Kyu, there’s so many names, but there’s not many other guys that are going to play. And listen, Nathan Walker, we know Sunquist Bu’s dad to an extent. These guys are going to play this role. But do you think this kind of tone setting hits is going to be missed in this bottom six? It can be. Yeah, he brings physicality. He brings some underrated speed, I think, as well. And just that big body presence on the fourth line, he gets to work, right? And you know, when we talk about players that haven’t been very good, you know, Bavich, there’s been a couple guys on the team that haven’t been that good, but one guy’s name never comes up, and that’s Torpenko. Nobody really talks about him, and I think that’s cuz he just goes out and he does his thing. He brings his lunch pill to work, and and that’s it. He puts his head down, he gets to work, and you know, he’s a good player in uh in that regard, right? So, uh will they miss him? Is he going to be a significant impactful loss to this team? I mean, I don’t know. He plays on the fourth line, right? But now you have somebody with more inexperience coming in because they have to call somebody up from the AHL coming in to fill that role. So, that could have serious implications on this team moving forward. And again, it doesn’t look like he’s going to be out super long term or anything like that. It’s probably just going to be a couple games at this point because it is just a burn, although it seemed, you know, a little bit significant. by some of the wording they were using, but they’re not giving specific details on what happened. Uh, but he is going to miss some time here. So, again, you have somebody else coming in now to play that spot where he has been for a while at this point. And again, nobody really talks about him because he just kind of gets into a game, does his thing, and nobody really complains about him. So, I think they will miss him a little bit, but I don’t know if this is uh a loss in terms of like this is going to impact the team too much, but Snugru is a big one. Missing him for a long time, that that is going to be tough. And I think that’s the biggest thing is listen, losing Jimmy Snuggroot out of this lineup is going to hurt. We’ve seen Jim Montgomery speak on it today. The exact timeline of what it led to surgery, I don’t have the exact timeline. I know he’s playing with a pain Saturday night. I think when it’s most likely occurred, he’s going to have surgery tomorrow. Now, this is a significant injury and an even bigger significant loss to a lineup. We know how good Jimmy Snug has been since joining this group out of the University of Minnesota last year to go into the playoffs. 11 points in the 26 games, including five goals. We know Jimmy Snuggard was basically a staple in this top six since joining this team. We’ve seen at the end of last year. We’ve seen him play great, almost incredibly in the playoff run. Losing this guy on a team that needs to continue getting better is a big blow. We can see that Jim Montgomery needs to make a call up for this. We’re going to touch on this player, but before we do, what is your thoughts on Jimmy Snugroo with this group? Losing him within this group is going to hurt. You need to move people up. We know BH is probably going to go back right into that top six. Kyru is going to jump up. Joseph and Holloway’s going there on the third. What is your overall thoughts on this series? Yeah, Kyu now jumps to the top line. BH Navic has to by default go to the top six now as well because you can’t have inexperience in the top six and you can’t have guys who can’t play in your top six in the top six. You know, Bhnavic hasn’t been performing, but we know that he’s at least been there before. So, he’s going to move up and this is a tough loss because Snugru he’s not going to put up. He’s not a point a game player, right? right now at least like he can be in his NHL career I think at some point but he has put up 11 points so far in the 26 games that they’ve played like he has put up some decent numbers and you know along the lines of what we thought he was going to do right so he has been performing pretty well and he’s the type of guy that you know with his shot he can kind of just when you need a goal he can sneak in a goal we’ve seen it this year like he scored some nice goals and some timely ones through his career so far his short career in the NHL so you can see that ripping a shot off the post right like they’re going to miss him for sure And I think that he’s a guy that has been routinely playing except for a couple games when they were switching up the lineup in the top six. So those are big minutes that are going to be missing now, right? So they’re going to miss him and hopefully it’s not anything crazy like hopefully he’s not out till February or anything like that. But by all sounds uh the sounds of it, he’s going to be out for an extended period of time here. And I know the big thing is listen, they have to do an emergency call up from Springfield now to get someone within the lineup. You can see from this tweet that they’re calling up Kasm Mackey coming from Springfield and Tucker could come in as a forward/defenseman going into the next game if they can’t get him up in time for this game. Now, the big thing is we’re seeing a lot of youth movement coming through the system. D’Vorski fit in perfectly, but what is your thoughts? Listen, seven points in 16 games is great for a 21-year-old after 34 points in 63 games. We see in the Liga in the past going 17 points in 47 games. What’s your thoughts at getting just another young guy? Maybe even Otto Stberg could have been a guy that came up. Yeah, I’m excited to see him play and Steenberg I think you you’re keeping down there. The same story for a lot of guys there just to continue their development. But I’m excited to see what you know, Casamaki can do because this is another guy we were talking about in the summer where you know, you look at what he did in Lia looks like a very promising prospect, right? Then he comes over and he’s still only 21 years old. He comes over to the AHL last year and he’s about half a point a game player. Actually, not even like a little bit more. uh and he was pretty good, right? So, you want to see what he was able to do this year coming into this year and if he’s taking more steps now he’s going to get an opportunity at the NHL level. So, we’ll see where he factors in. I wonder if it’s on the third line, if he’s just like an extra forward at this point. Again, we heard that if he can’t get up in time, then it looks like uh Tucker is going to be playing defense and forward if needed on the fourth line. So, that’s going to be interesting to watch, too. He’s actually done that before in junior, so that’ll be interesting to watch. But, um, yeah, I think that it’s going to be a very interesting game, uh, tonight. That is for sure if if he can’t get in in time. But, uh, even if he doesn’t get in in time, he’s been called up. He’s going to get some time, I think, at the NHL level. So, that’s going to be exciting to watch cuz, you know, again, during the summer, we were like, hey, this guy had a great campaign last year at the AHL level. Let’s see what he does this year. If he takes, you know, steps forward, can he be an NHL in the future? So, we’ll see what he does with this opportunity. I would imagine he gets into at least one game here in this thing. And I think the last injury update too, which is not as serious as the other, as we can see, is Pew Sudter is dayto-day at the moment. We don’t get a huge update on him. But not having Sudter in this lineup, just makes it harder for the Blues. But Darius, the big thing is maybe Logan Mayu gets his time to shine as a forward. We don’t know what this game is going to unfold. But Ben, what is your thoughts on these updates? How significant is this going to be? Maybe Doug Armstrong goes out to want to buy a player after going on the streak and losing a guy like Snugrude. Let us know all your thoughts down in the comments. And speaking of comments, let’s go straight into comments of the day coming through. As long as they’re in the playoffs mix, Armstrong will keep this group together. And we agree with this as well. If this is the team, and he said himself, this is a team that’s going to dictate how this season goes in the trade front with their play. So, things are going to get really interesting. Now, you have some key injuries to this roster, but let us know all your thoughts down in the comment. You could be featured on comment of the day. While you’re down there, leave like, subscribe, share this with your friends. We’re back in another episode. So, keep your eye for that. I’m your host Mark with my co-host Darius
