Bill Cowher Weighs In On Mike Tomlin Criticism | 12/1/25

What do you make of the fire Mike Tomlin chants that we heard yesterday towards the tail end of that performance? Well, I mean, like I said, they’re very passionate fans and you know, and I think it’s uh you know, listen, where they are right now, it’s they’re they’re six and six. They’ve not played very good football these last, you know, what two and five in the last seven games. Um, so it’s it’s it’s a scenario, but the fact of the matter is we know with five games to go, they still have a chance to win their division. Um they’re not trending in the right way, I thought. Think on either side of the ball. Um and going up against Baltimore Ravens now, they got them two more times. They got to still play the Detroit Lions. Um the Cleveland Browns and Elsa, they’re going to play the Miami Dolphins. So, we’ll see what happens. I think again, you know, the results will speak for themselves, but I think from Mike’s standpoint, I know one thing, he’s not going to let the outside noise uh influence or how he’s going to change his approach to this next game. He knows it’s a lot stake. They’re not playing great football right now. He’s got to find a way to to rally that group and get them to believe that they still have a chance to win this division. Did you get fire chance when you were there in Pittsburgh? I don’t think I got fire chance, but I think that I was, you know, there was some people that when you when you had a losing year and you walked past them, people start to whisper before they say, “Hey, coach, great to see you.” when they start when they start whispering Dan, you know it’s probably not a good thing. So when you walk by and people are whispering, that’s probably a good sign that things are not going that well. When they walk by and it’s going well, they’re going, “Hey, coach, great job. Good luck. Hey, love what you’re doing. Hey, you might want to like throw the ball a little bit more. Um, okay, gotcha. You know, you’re right on.” So I got to the point actually I said, you know, my point is when we won, I had no problem stopping on the way home from gas and getting gas. When we lost, I waited till I kept the night was dark. It was about 10:30, 11. I was the gas station and I didn’t want to hear about it, honestly, in the morning on the way to work. Like, you know, I didn’t want to hear about everyone’s because they would everybody would pull up right next to me. They would be act like they’re pulling up. Their their their gas tank was absolutely full. They would even put the nozzle in. They would stand there in front of their cars and tell me everything that I should be doing. We’re not running the football enough. You’re too conservative. you like we have no one’s rushing the quarterback and like you need to make some changes on that team and even with your coaching staff and I would go yes yes yes and yes you’re probably right I need to re-evaluate

Its Time for Tomlin to get the hell outa town and who cares if he makes the playoffs for what just to get your ass kicked and quit by halftime like he always does in the playoffs plus you got players that are not showing up for film sessions so who does that reflect on??? TOMLIN!!!

  6. The Steelers are not playing good Football because they are not a good football team as presently assembled. And YES Tomlin needs to go. This complete garage that Tomlin has never had a losing season is rediculous. Who cares. That's actually part of the problem. They aren't bad enough to get some High draft picks. Maybe a Beautiful 3-14 season would have got a Legitimate QB selection. Poor Aaron Rodgers was absolutely leveled. #66 Mason McCormick let it happen. This is Absolutely Rodgers last season. Good Luck Steelers fans. Maybe 5 more years of losing in the Forecast

  7. Tomlin has had the entire main stream media circle jerking him for over a decade. He’s overrated and in over his head.
    He needs to walk away now.
    Cowher knows Steelers fans don’t play around. They want winning football teams. Or get the f out of town.
    The chants are going to get worse

  10. At least Stephen A can be real about this. Bill is far too generous and polite. Look, the Steelers have been mediocre for a decade. They haven't won a single playoff game since 2016. There are games–including against the Ravens in the playoffs last year and this one against Buffalo–in which they simply cannot stop the run. Their defense is the highest paid in the league yet statistically one of the worst. The math ain't mathing. The organization should have acquired a new head coach years ago.
