Tough look. Kasper should be fine, jettison Hamonic and his ‘stache

Kasper is not going to the AHL, but it would not hurt to give him a game or two in the press box to reset. He has the talent, but his mental game is getting cooked right now. Don’t need Zadina 2.0, just get a break and come back with some legs.
2nd week in a row for Kasper. Not sure why they don’t move him to the wing to play with Larkin and Raymond, that’s what got him going last year.
Hamonic isn’t perfect, but Johansson hasn’t looked good either and he’s supposed to be the stabilizing factor on that pair.
Haven’t seen it brought up a lot, but Aljo is having a rough season, him, Kasper, and Ed all slumping/playing bad at the same time is not doing us any favors.
I don’t think Kasper is playing that bad, he’s still forechecking and hustling out there, just can’t get anything to go in or a bounce to go his way. Not from lack of effort.
Yeah but peep that honorable mention (the good side, ignore the bad)
I wouldn’t just hand wave Kasper and AlJo being bad. They have been absolutely terrible all year and it’s costing us big time
Mustache/60 is great
Im honestly not worried about Kasper at this point because its pretty obvious he’s just going through the standard sophomore slump. His play and his points production will likely pick up after the Olympic break and he’ll hit his stride either late in the year or next season all together. His rookie campaign was remarkable but let’s not lose sight of the fact that he’s still really young and figuring things out at this level. Give the kid time and as long as he hustles he’ll be alright.
How is Gibson not worse goalie?
Kasper has to start filling the stat sheet. He was drafted under the belief that he would develop into a reliable contributor on offense, and outside of a strong finish last year has shown really no signs of improvement there. The tenacity and compete level is great but it’s time to start putting points up.
If you watch the games, he’s actually been pretty good relative to our other depth forwards. It’s just that the team is massively dysfunctional and the 2nd and 3rd lines are not even close to scoring at ES.
Kasper needs to start putting up points or else his initial breakout is gonna just be a lynnsanity run. I think he’s got skills but right now it’s not looking good.
And this sub crucified me for saying Kasper and Johansson were awful
Our biggest issues are really youthful player regression. Edvinsson has been rough, Kasper clearly has confidence issues, Aljo and ASP are making a lot of mistakes, Finnie has consistency issues, and Danielson is just trying to find his place.
This season will ride or die by the youth movement, and it’s just not going as well as it has in other recent years when we’ve had youth infusions. Doesn’t mean it won’t improve this year, but we are seeing the lows of it right now.
Kasper doesnt look like the same play we watched the second half of last season. He’s starting to remind me of Veleno where he plays and I don’t notice him at all
Why the hell does Todd and the Yawner keep playing Hammy over JBD?? Docker is younger, quicker, has FAR better positioning, a better shot, anticipates the play and finishes his checks well. And he has the potential to get better.. while Ham is on his way down.
My “Kasper will be fine” stance has taken some damage lately. I think the sample size is big enough to start getting a little bit concerned.
It’s December and he’s on pace for 9 points over 82 games. He doesn’t have a single assist despite playing a lot of minutes with Cat (and Kane). Sophomore slump is not enough to explain this.
Can’t believe Gibson didn’t make it
Based on what are we saying Kasper should be fine? It’s been worse than a slump.
