Though Brock didn’t have any insane stats yesterday, he played a REALLY good game. The Browns (especially Garett) being able to sack Purdy only once is exactly why he’s so valuable to this team. I’ll give credit to the O-line, they’ve stepped up a bit lately, but Brock also makes them look a lot better. I love Mac but his immobility is a problem behind how our O-line operates. If he was playing yesterday, he would without a doubt have been sacked 3+ times. Today’s game should put an end to any “Mac over Purdy” conversations, which if we’re being honest, shouldn’t have been a thing anyway.

It is absolutely insane how lucky we got with him.
Always has been
We’re gonna find out who the real “analysts” are this week.
If any of them say “Brock didn’t play that well” or “Brock struggled against the Browns” then you’ll instantly know that they’re a fraud “analyst” who doesn’t actually watch games and just looks at box scores.
Purdy only taking 1 sack blows my mind. He was in the grasp at least 2-3 different times and then turned into Russell Wilson randomly.
Takes me back to Jimmy G just taking sack after sack after holding onto the ball for 10 seconds every snap.
I’m grateful for Mac but without a doubt Purdy’s greatest attribute over Mac, and a lot of people overlook this, is that he can hit the dougie after a touchdown
Mac was a great signing and we got very lucky that he was able to roll right in wk2 and produce. I assumed he’d be pretty ugly if we had to rely on him early in the season, but he definitely proved me wrong. Wish we could’ve seen him at fully health as think he might’ve got another cpl wins had he been. Either way with or without his legs under him, he’s still no Purdy. He’s a fine serviceable QB in Kyle offense, but he’s never had the intangibles that make Purdy Purdy
My thing about yesterday’s game is that he was actually throwing the ball away instead of forcing passes into tight spaces. Instead of throwing interceptions, he toss it away to get to the next down.
He really learned from his three interception game.
We got to sell Mac at the end of the season for a high price. There are many teams who desperately need him and will be instantly better. Minnesota in particular would be a perfect fit. Hopefully the Niners do him a favor and send him somewhere he can succeed.
It was never a question, Mac wanted a chance to prove himself and he delivered . Honestly Mac jones having fun at the end of the browns game really made me happy.
The only way Cleveland was going to win was if their defense could force turnovers. Brock made the smart plays by throwing the ball away when there was nothing there. And like you said, he needed every bit of his mobility to do it.
Absolutely. I loved that Stafford turned it over 3 times yesterday as well.

The definition of “him”
Real ones always knew.
This needed to be said?
Purdy evading sacks through the smallest of openings was insane yesterday
Turns 26 in a few weeks but with loads of experience between college and pros already. Unique combination nowadays and that experience is invaluable
Mac Jones just needs more time but Purdy is ready now.
The offense for 49ees opened up so much because Purdy just knows the system better.
Definitely a sell Mac Jones high. With so many teams with qb issue he deserves a chance to be qb1 and flourish as well.
I’ve been pointing this out constantly as well, since most of the Purdy detractors are hung up on “$53m per year”
This year Purdy’s cap hit is $9.1m good for 25th amongst QBs
Next year it’s $24.8m which would be 16th on the current list.
2027 is $30.8m which likely won’t be in the top 15 by then.
He’s being paid like a middle-of-the-road QB for the next 3 seasons.
Of course he is, did you see him dance?
Quietly one of his best games yesterday.
I recall a couple of throw aways. I said oh he’s got it now
Same. Watching Purdy -v- Mac play is like night and day. Purdy hasn’t even gotten back in the groove after being out for so long. This is not a dis on Mac, he did great as a fill-in, far better than expected, but he is no Brock Purdy. His win against the Rams was epic and I hope the Niners keep Mac for next year too but if they can trade him for an impactful, proven player (not just draft picks) I’d be okay with that too.
I’d like to know what the pundits think now that Stafford had a pick 6 and a fumble vs the same Panthers team that Purdy had his bad game against. At least Purdy still walked away with a win.
Purdy isn’t flashy, and Fantasy players are frustrated, but he wins actual games, which is what he’s paid to do.
Mac held the line while Brock recovered and now look where we are, whatever happens I’ll always be grateful for what he did for this team.
Yesterday was a good reminder why he’s our guy and why last week’s performance shouldn’t make us panic.
Despite how banged up our defense is, this team good enough to make a serious run in the playoffs. Our next 4 games after this much needed bye week will be tough and I think we need at least two more wins to ensure a playoff spot but we certainly can beat all the next 4 teams.
1000% there is no discussion. He is our guy and a vastly superior QB, no offense to Mac I love the guy and thank him for all he has done for us this season. It isn’t just Brock’s mobility, it is his ability to drive the play forward, to place the ball where it needs to go and to look downfield not just check it down, which granted we’d all wish he would do a bit more, but still. that ball to Kittle is a great example. Kittle made an amazing catch on it for sure, but Brock placed it perfectly right over the opposite shoulder of the DB. and only getting sacked once against that front 7 is batshit insane. Credit to the OL and definitely credit to Brock. We should all thank the Football gods every week that we have him as our QB.
Everyone is talking about how Mac saved this season. However, Purdy saved a season when he was a rookie and went undefeated. Until he was injured in the NFC championship.
He has passed Colin Kaepernick yesterday for the 9th-most passing touchdowns in franchise history (73). He did it in 24 fewer games.
