HUGE Yankees UPDATE: BIG NEWS| Cody Bellinger, Tatsuya Imai, AND MORE

We have a lot to talk about today. So, do me a favor. If you love the Yankees and you’re not subscribed, be sure to subscribe. Man, the winter meetings are just a week away. And there’s a lot to go over with the Yankees. Now, according to Ken Rosenthal, it appears to him that the Yankees are more inclined to sign Cody Bellinger. Now, listen. Cody, a tremendous corner outfielder, had a very, very good season defensively for the Yankees last year. I’ve been very, very pro- Kyle Tucker. I want Kyle Tucker. I think he’s the move over Cody Bellinger, personally. Now, according to Jeff Passin, when it comes down to Tucker, he’s expected to get 10 years over 300. That number last off season was at five, then it was at four. Now it’s at three. So, what you’re telling me is that Kyle Tucker’s AAV is going down closer to Cody Bellingers. Kyle Tucker’s offensive ceiling is much higher than Cody Bellinger’s. What you’re seeing with Cody, in my opinion, this is what you’re going to get. And listen, a 30 home run, 100 RBI guy, sign me up for that. Especially in a a guy playing an elite corner outfield, sign me up for that. But if you could go get a top 10 bat in Major League Baseball, I think you have to do that. However, the Yankees really want uh Bellinger. And even though according to Brian Hul they have kept in touch with Kyle Tucker’s representatives, the Yankees are are are in hot and heavy in on Cody. And according to John Haymon, the Yankees reportedly want Cody back badly, but there is a gap in negotiations. So, I could see there being a gap, probably money for sure, but I could see there being a gap in years. Now, when it comes to Cody Bellinger, he’s been inconsistent over the past few seasons, right? I I mean, last year, a tremendous season, first year in the Bronx, hit the crap out of the ball at the stadium. Had a 125 OPS plus for the Yankees, 29 homers, 272 average. I’m looking at his numbers right now. Cody had a good season in a very a very good left field, a very good right field. Played 26 innings at first base, played a little bit in center. He wasn’t great, but he was really good offensively last year. 2024 for the Cubs. I mean, there’s a reason why the Cubs basically dumped him to the Yankees. They dumped him. In fact, not only did they dump him, they took on some of his money. So they acquired a pitcher like Cody Potit for Cody Bellinger and then they just said, “Hey, we’ll also pay 2 and a half million of Cody’s money for 2025 and 2026 if Cody opted in.” Obviously Cody did not opt in. He’s a free agent now, which led to all this. But last year, last off season, a year ago, the sentiment on Cody wasn’t very high. Now all of a sudden it is because he had such a great season defensively last year. In 2024 he didn’t, but 2025 he did. 2023 had a great season for Chicago. And that came off of a year in 2022 where he was horrible for the Dodgers. He was horrible. Had a 654 OPS. The Dodgers non-tendered him. So that’s I’m not I’m not trying to talk bad about Cody. I think the world of him, it excites me at the at the possibility of getting him back. You can’t stop at Cody. You can’t stop at him, though. It has to be more. Obviously, it has to be more. I would just I think you have a better option than Kyle Tucker out there. You should get him, especially if he’s not going to cost as much as you once thought. And if it’s not 40 million a year, if it’s 30 and and Cody Bellinger’s 28 million, what the freak is the difference? Now, as I said, the Yankees and Bellinger are far apart, I believe, probably when it comes to years. I could see Boris saying, “Hey, let’s do seven or eight.” The Yankees saying four to five. I see the Yankees saying that they they should do four to five. And I agree with them. Now, when it comes down to it, is Cody going to end up with the Yankees? It It sure seems that way. It seems he just wants to be here. It seems that the Yankees want him to be here. But if Cody does come back and if the Yankees do sign him, even if the Yankees sign Kyle Tucker, if Cody does come back, according to Jeff Pass, that would result in a multi-part move, which would mean either Jason Dominguez or Spencer Jones would be traded or maybe you trade both. Now, that gets a little dicey because if you end up trading both of them and Trent Gisham has a bad season, now all of a sudden that surplus of outfielders that you had in your organization, you don’t have it anymore. You traded it away. So, I would not be upset, and I don’t know if the Yankees are going to go this way of either keeping Spencer Jones in TripleA for now or putting Dominguez down there. And I know no one wants to hear that. In fact, I don’t want to hear that. If you guys been watching the channel long enough, you know that I’m the biggest Dominguez fan on on the face of the freaking earth. But you need those kids need to have as much playing time as possible. And I think stashing them down there in Triple A, I think it would be beneficial for them because then when Gisham leaves potentially if it doesn’t work out in 2026 for Gisham, then he leaves after this after next season, you need a center fielder. And I’m not saying that you would put Dominguez out there either if you were to trade Spencer Jones. Now, the whole Spencer Jones thing could be revisited. And the reason why I think so is because according to Jim Bowen, the Yankees and the Marlins have been talking about a Sandy Alcantara trade. Sandy Alcantra, however you pronounce his name, they’ve been talking about a trade for him. The Yankees spoke with the Marlins last off season as well about Sandy and they spoke about him at the deadline. So the Yankees have been very interested in Sandy. Now I would think that Sandy would be the fallback if the Yankees don’t get Tatsuya ami and according to reports the San Francisco Giants are not inclined to to spend what it would take to sign MI. That’s the report. So, if that’s the case now, if the Giants are potentially out on MI and if the Yankees are saying, “Hey, we want to spend potentially spend on MI.” This might have turned into a one-horse race here. Toronto signed Cease. I don’t see them signing another starting pitcher. They signed CE. They need some money to sign a position player in bringing either bringing back Bo Bashette or signing Kyle Tucker or Cody Ballinger. So they they signed CE that monster deal. I don’t see them doing that again with Amay. The Giants were the Yankees competitors for MI basically said, “Hey, we may not want to spend what it would take to get them.” He talked about how he would like to compete against the Dodgers, not with them. So, what’s the deal? Is Is this Do the Yankees just Is it just them? I don’t I don’t know. I I really don’t know. We’ll we’ll see if another team emerges that we’re not even talking about. Where am I? Right. But Seattle, they don’t need them. Right. And and if I don’t really see him going to a a an a a bad team, a team that’s not contending, I don’t I don’t see that either. He must have played for a contending team. And Amay, a very good pitcher. Reports came out a few days ago that the Yankees are earnestly interested in Amay. Well, it might be falling into place for them. But then we got a report that the Yankees are focusing on bullpen over the rotation. So, John Haymon put down some names. Edwin Diaz, Suarez from San Diego, Fairbanks from Tampa, and then Jensen. Oh my gosh, imagine they get Jensen. What a he’s he’s been around forever. But those are the names that are being floated around for the Yankees. And we we’ve known that Edwin Diaz, that name’s being floated around and that the Mets may not want to commit the amount of years that it would take for Diaz. I don’t, you know, if I’m the Yankees, I’m not sure if I want the Yankees to even do that to be honest with you. I think the Dodgers will. I think he’ll end up being a Dodger. If he’s not a Dodger, I’m sorry, but I think he’ll end up being a Dodger. But with the Yankees, their focus over their focus on the bullpen over rotation kind of telling to where their mind is at. So, are they going to spend that money on Amai? I don’t know. Will they trade for Sandy? I don’t know. We’ll see. I’ll let you guys know if it does happen. But let me know what you think down in the comments. Thank you guys so so much for watching. At this point of the recording, the Yankees Hot Stove has not aired yet. So, if you can’t leave a comment down below on what Jack Curry said, I’ll cover it tomorrow. I’m I’m gonna watch it anyway, but I’ll cover it tomorrow here on the channel. So, listen guys, thank you so so much for watching. Take care.

  1. Bro get rid of Austin wells put rice behind the plate put Cody at first sign Tucker put him in left then work on the pitching side of things they make it too complicated make it happen yankeees. Penny pinching and then scratching your head at the end of the year and getting blown out by a team with the same record as you.

  2. They have the money , they can sign both still be cheaper than Soto and much better production and suited for the team in every way. Cut the BS YANKEES MAKE IT HAPPEN.

  3. We need a 4th OF/ DH anyway! I am keeping Spencer over Martian! Sorry but Martian is not a good OFer and Spencer simply has More all around upside! But if we can Keep Martian it would be nice in case Grish is gone after next year! I am Trying to keep Bell @ 4 year 5th year OPT out! Now we need to focus on relief pitching! I dont think our offense is the biggest issue! We produced runs last year! We lost most our games because of bad relief pitching!

  4. These guys don’t seem to learn that if it didn’t work why keep the same team get Tucker who’s a much better player all around. Without judge I don’t think Cody would have gotten what he got this year.

  5. I would go all out for TUCKER…he’s younger and has better defensive skills. Maybe we can get CODY as well but with BORAS as his agent I think he’s leaving. I hope we do land the Japanese pitcher even add that bat of that 25 year old but they love west coast

  6. If there's one quote that perfectly sums up the stupidity and utter incompetence of the yankees from hal steinbrenner to bruan big bird cashman and aaron bonehead boone it would be the famous Michael scott quote from the classic sitcom the office when Michael scott asked toby flenderson: WHY ARE YOU THE WAY THAT YOU ARE? SERIOUSLY i mean going for the cheap and raggedy route with that bum cody bellinger instead of the superstar kyle tucker. 🙄🤦🏽‍♂️Make it make sense I'm hoping that bum cody bellinger goes back to the dodgers because i sure as hell don't want to see him back on the yankees. WE WANT KYLE TUCKER DAMN IT

  7. It would be beyond stupid to not sign Bellinger. Cody Bellinger is a NY Yankee. Sign him now. Stop screwing around. Then put a legit team on the field for '26. Make the subtle changes we need to win. Get us one more very good hitter. And get the bull-pen worked out. The Grisham thing made zero sense, if they are saying they want to trim the pay-roll. Sign. Bellinger. He's perfect in Yankee Stadium.

  8. Tucker is the better more consistent hitter. Not sure how he would do in left or if he would even play left. Cody is a better all around athlete but I worry about him signing a big deal and he slumps. Cody has a god awful swing. I like Tucker a lot. If they bring in another outfield maybe they could trade Dominguez and Jones for Skenes.
