Rich Eisen: How Justin Herbert’s Hand Injury Could Impact the Chargers’ Playoff Hopes

The Broncos are perfectly positioned to win this conference and certainly the division. Two games better than the Chargers who now do look like they’re going to have a shadow at worst and an injured version at best of Justin Herbert the rest of the way. Look at that. Left like almost what does that look like? An an oven mitt. What? It’s not that bad. It kind of looked like a you know a superhero’s glove, right? I I don’t know whatever kept his left hand together cuz he needs surgery to repair a broken bone. Maybe as we speak. Justin Herbert is going to finish the season with a freshly surgically repaired non-throwing hand. Jeez, it’s like a Nintendo Power Glove. Oh, yeah. Remember those things? That’s it. Okay. Well, hopefully there’s some Infinity Stone that type too additions that they can put in there because I mean it that listen it it doesn’t sound great and it’s the last thing like oh you know it’s no big deal that our uh quarterback is needs hand surgery before the week 14 Monday night finale on ESPN against the Eagles without our tackles but good for news for the Chargers. is they are two games behind the Broncos and they’ve already beaten Denver. As a matter of fact, they’re the last team to beat Denver back in week three. Remember, Denver started the season 1 and two without having trailed in a single one game, a single one of the games at all. Well, since that one and two start, they’ve won nine in a row. Take a 10 win record into December. And the Chargers now have a vicious stretch out of all the teams left in this AFC West race. Home for Philly, at Kansas City, at Dallas, home for Houston, at Denver. That is a brutal final five. You could put that up against anyone else’s final five and that might be the toughest one. And they’re going to go into this stretch without their tackles. hopefully for them getting Omar and Hampton back and then somehow someway their quarterback not missing time or a healthy left hand. I you know what I mean? I I it’s it’s not optimum, but Jim Harbaugh, as you know, can uh create belief where there’s a lot of disbelief and a lot of Chargers fans looking for a trap door opening up despite the Chargers being the five seed right now at 8 and four. Yeah, I’ I’d be tough pressed to see them make the playoffs with that schedule. We shall see, sir. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. 1. He called up the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns for his white Superman glove he used to wear. Actually works out since Survivor Series happened in San Diego so he was able to get an instant delivery from our Tribal Chief himself ☝️☝️☝️

  2. The last game of the year could be a throwaway if the Broncos secure the home field advantage beforehand. The next five games may ride on the ability of the OL to run block like they did on Sunday. Vidal has done such a good job in place of Hampton that he keeps the defenses honest and play action actually works. Now I know what Herbert is getting for Christmas…an oven mitt.

  3. How did we go from hyping up this team every week to one of your dudes in the back saying “ehh they probably can’t make it”

Always one extreme or the other with these shows lol

  4. Brutal. Well see what we are made of down the stretch. Where we stand against the league. To be the best gotta beat the best, they say.

  5. If Chargers win out . They finish with 13-4 season . Maybe 1# seed in playoffs! We will see ? Hopefully KC doesn't make it to the playoffs

  6. You KNOW fans & media is ALL WAYS hating on Justin ? Hate OR love him . 1 THING you can say about Herbert . Is the fact , he DOES play hurt / injured every year , unlike many QB"S ! When they get a hang nail & must set out a game ?

  7. Chargers ‘Chargering’ ..it’s beyond “fubar” that BOTH of their all pro tackles are gone for the year ..this kind of s&*t happens every f$**kin year ..so hard to root for the Bolts ..
