FIRST THINGS FIRST | Bo Nix Was SPECIAL With Denver Broncos, But NOT Super Bowl Contenders | NFL

takeaway from the Broncos and their nine straight wins last. Uh that guy right there, Bo Nicks. Bo Nicks was money. I I was thoroughly impressed with Bo Knicks. I mean, even if just looking at overtime when you got to have it, had to perform. Gets the ball first. So you don’t know the other team is going Washington’s going to have four downs every time they snap the ball. Like four for four, 71 yards, score a touchdown. Like Bo Nicks was money from start to finish. something that we’ve been screaming for all season long and he delivered and they found a way defensively to get that last stop to win. Yeah, I think Denver proved they can take a hit and keep on going which was important. You need to see that this time of year but Greg is 100% right. They also prove their situational elite man their ability to respond time after time is huge and cuz the commanders put up a great fight. I mean Mario won’t get a lot of credit but he was he was money good. I also think right now if you’re the Broncos, you need these type of wins to test to test your heart, right? Because this could have been an easy letdown game. Really doesn’t hurt you. You can separate yourself on and on and on, but they never let down. And listen, you talk about this defense, they got after it, but also Nick Bonito once again coming up big in that moment. I think you called him from before the game. Yeah, I think he he he was awesome. So, it was a good win for the Broncos. So, why I have doubted Denver is because of this graphic I’m going to show you right here. It just didn’t feel sustainable. They were 5-0 when Bo Knicks had a passer rating below 85. Like normally you get that little production from your quarterback. Normally you lose. The rest of the NFL is 37 and 111. But last night when you get good consistent somewhere between like good and above average and at times like great and clutch and tough, it’s like oh well if you pair that with their defense, they can be scary. Do I think they’re coming out of the AFC? No. But they are they are they they they no but what do they need to do? It’s there’s nothing they can beat Marcus Mariota by one. Let’s not let’s not go crazy. But really okay settle down. Uh guy who wants to throw a party every time uh Caleb Williams sneezes. Uh listen, Bo Nicks was awesome. This whole idea that Bo Nicks wasn’t unbelievable in that game, you’re out of your mind. If this was anyone else but Mo Bo Knicks, if this was Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, they’d be throw they’d be dropping banners, having parades. You know what I think is so ridiculous to me is that how is this not even covered on the, you know, the actual episode of First Things First. How is it that the Denver Broncos are 10 and two, a top team in the NFL? We had an absolute awesome Sunday night football game. That was exciting. I understand the Commanders aren’t a great team right now. I understand it’s Marcus Mariota, but this game was awesome. This game was really, really, really fun and a great watch. And it’s just like barely discussed. Bo Nicks was awesome. It’s year two. It’s year two. Yes, if this was year six for Bo Nick and Shawn Payne, then I could understand. It’s like, yeah, one by one, blah blah blah blah blah blah. But we are still trying to figure out and drill down who Bo Nicks is. And this was a massive performance for Bo Knicks in this game. He played awesome. He made awesome plays. He looked so unbelievably comfortable and confident. This was a a step forward. His successes, his playmaking were not accidental. And a lot of them were not like, “Hey man, that’s Shawn Payeyton right there.” Those were Bo Knicks moments as highlighted right here. Before I go any more further in my rants, and I’m gonna keep going, please, Denver Broncos fans, do not forget to subscribe. And please do not forget to watch the full length of this video. When you guys do that, subscribers and views go through the roof. You create a literal avalanche. And like I keep trying to emphasize, it’s not about just chasing views. It’s not just about chasing subscribers. It’s trying to build something truly special so I can keep making the best possible Denver Broncos content that I can. Um, so we can become firmly rooted in this sports world. Biggest takeaway, Bo Knicks is legit and Bon Knicks can continue to grow and evolve and get better and better and better. Bonix is not a finished product. There’s still room for him to grow. Imagine what that looks like. It’s It’s for real. Am I saying that he’s going to be able to consistently be special this season, game after game after game? No, it’s year two. I don’t expect a superstar to prove that they’re a superstar within the first two years. There’s a lot at stake here. There’s a lot. And he can handle the moment. That’s the one thing. There’s plenty of other quarterbacks I’m still kind of like, I don’t know how you’re going to be in the moment. Bonx can handle it. So, to win his back-to-back games, tied or down or whatever, 1919 against the Kansas City Chiefs. This is the drive. Five yard pass. Had the 10- yard penalty. 20 yard pass, five yard run, five yard pass, two yard run, 32 yard pass, and then of course now the Neil set it up. But big massive plays, massive conversions. Third and five, third and 15, got to have it moments. Bone Nicks putting the ball in his hands. And then in overtime, 12 yard pass, 12 yard pass, 41 yard pass, sixyard pass, and then of course a 5yard touchdown run, but literally just Bonix, Bonix, Bonix, Bonix, Bonix, Bonix, Bodick, Bonix, Bonick. This defense is great. The defense is special. coming up big with huge plays obviously as I had already talked about plenty in both the post game and earlier today but like Bick still is not getting enough love and I get it his passer raisin where is it passer raisin his passer rating wasn’t 137 and he didn’t rush for 65 yards and he didn’t have four touchdowns but make no mistake about it man this was a huge game from Bicks and a huge step forward this was one of Bon Nick’s best games without a doubt. This is one of his This was one of his best games. You can play have a great game and it not just show like, you know, four touchdowns, no turnovers, a 137 pass rate. Like you can That’s why you got to watch these games. And was he flawless? No. But like I was listening to one podcast earlier and they were just like, “Ah, Boex played okay.” And I was like, “What are you talking about? Show me how many games Stafford, Allen, Lamar, Mahomes where they just play perfect where they don’t miss a single throw. The ball is never in harm’s way, right? It’s always just pure perfection. Like, show me those games because they are pretty much non-existent. But here’s the other thing that nobody wants to talk about. Bo Nicks even had a better game than his box score shows. Five drops. five drops. I’m watching this game and I said this in the playoffs against the Buffalo Bills because I said Josh I said Bicks really reminds me of Josh Allen. I was like it’s a Josh Allen light. Don’t get too lost in the comparisons. It doesn’t matter. But I was like that’s what he reminds me of. And during that playoff game I said wow this game really reminded me of Josh Allen now. Cuz I’m like this is Bo this is Bo Knicks. This is a quarterback doing everything he can to help his team put his team in a position to win and his team was just not there. his team just did not show up, you know, dropping passes, etc., etc. I think missing field goals, too. Whatever it was, I forget now at this point. And that’s what that showed me. And I was like, “Wow.” And I’m watching this game and I go, I’m watching a quarterback look comfortable. I’m looking at watching a quarterback who’s playing exactly how I felt that this guy could play. And I’m like, I am impressed. And then I’m seeing his team drop passes, literally drop the ball around him. And I’m like, ah, come on. You’re these are This is This game shouldn’t have been as close. Bo Nick’s stats should have been even higher. The guy could have thrown for like 400 yards. Like it could have been even higher. His adjusted completion percentage was 82.9% which I think would have been you know definitely top in the NFL. But uh you know top five. He had five drops had to have led the NFL. Yep. Five drops. The next closest was Daniel Jones with three. Josh Allen two. So he had five drops. his drop percentage 14.7. Insanity. So, that’s also something to, you know, to factor in. He had two over two turnover worthy plays. I keep talking about that one play where he threw the ball uh right at um I forget who it is right now off the top of my head. Um and you know, Collinssworth kind of pointed it out and he’s like, you know, this team can win a Super Bowl. You got to play better. Blah blah blah blah. And I get it and I appreciate pointing out those comments. I really really do. I really really do. And those things do matter. But when you’re trying to evaluate a quarterback at this early on, like a Bo Knicks in his career, it’s still often used as fuel to be like, I told you he’s not that good. And it’s like Bo Knicks, two turnover worthy plays. Matthew Stafford, two turnover worthy plays. Matthew Stafford turned the ball over three times. Three times. I guess they don’t give the sack a turnover worthy play because it was like they’re just like ah credit to the defense for making it happen. I mean that’s fair I suppose to a degree. It’s not like you’re really putting the ball in harm’s way. It’s probably more of a I guess it’s turnover worthy plays are always passing turnover worthy plays. So that makes sense. So it’s never a fumble I guess for a quarterback which is kind of misleading in a in in an era where scrambling and running about is pretty important for a quarterback. But whatever, we’ll leave that aside. Um, the point that I’m trying to make is that you’re always going to have Dak Prescott played awesome, had three turnover worthy plays against the Kansas City Chiefs. Those all could have been devastating. Those that could have been three interceptions. Like Bromer had four turnover worthy plays and all four of them were intercepted and it was devastating consequences. So, Bonix played awesome. Don’t let anyone try to trick you to thinking otherwise. Well, they won by one point against the Washington Commanders with Marcus Mariota. Yeah. Who played awesome. He had an awesome game. The Commanders aren’t this terrible franchise. Yeah. They’re really injured and now they have a backup quarterback. Absolutely. They’re a well-run franchise right now. They are not circling the drain. They are not the Cleveland Browns. They are not the Las Vegas Raiders. Okay? Hey, they’re not circling the drain. They were in the NFC Championship game last year cuz they are well coached on both sides of the ball and they’re not looking just to roll over and be a disaster. Terry McLaren is legit. Debo legit. Zach’s still legit after all these years. Marcus Mariota is a seasoned veteran hyper mobile quarterback combined with a great offensive coach in Cliff Kingsbury who knows exactly how to maximize that style quarterback. So yeah, you’re going to get some games like this. Oh no. Oh no, the sky is falling. But those are just my thoughts. I’d absolutely love to hear yours. What do you guys all think about the Denver Broncos? What was the biggest takeaway from the Broncos ninth straight win? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. 1. Imagine if Bo had tyreek n kelce in year 2 like someone else did. Instead Bo is truly doing this without a true 1 WR or TE. N the Chicago fool talking about QB play is absolutely laughable

  2. I had started getting a tad worried after the Texans and Raiders games as Nix had started to look very rushed and "unable" to see the field well.

    However, the following two games – Chiefs and Commanders – are the most consistently good he has looked this entire season and he is looking good with a running game that isn't very dangerous. Currently. he is the second best QB of this draft class currently as Caleb has not looked better overall and Jayden has just been too injured to really put him in any category except "TBD" right now.

  3. Game took forever to get started then Rodney had something going on. The defense seemed sluggish and the offense had to help carry the game and it seems we are getting better, 10-2 is pretty good.
    Go Broncos!!!

  4. People forget that VJ was a d coordinator for Kingsbury. Kingsbury had time to prepare for VJ. Quinn called the defense to. It was a very hard fought game and Denver earned the W. That’s all that matters.

  5. Weak as fans can also rate the commentators. And Nick wright is the worst commentator I've ever seen. Simply because he is not objective play in any way shape or form. Add Brou is being a little Yes Man who basically goes along with whatever Nick says. the media is just hoping that the Broncos change their tactics in order to satiate their expectation of what they think the Broncos should be. Which is just BS!

  6. I was watching football before passer rating became a thing… all ive seen is lamar jackson choke with a high passer rating. I.e. i do not care about stats. Only wins.

  7. Dope Fact: The Broncos Have The Same Amount Of Wins At This Point Of The Season That They Had All Of Last Season. 😮

    LFG!! DB4L!! ONBTNT!! 10-2!! BEST IN THE WEST!!

  8. National media keeps moving the goal posts. Bo never does enough for them. They complain about the Broncos only scoring in the 4th quarter and now that they are scoring throughout the game more consistently it’s somehow not good enough. If we go on to get to the superbowl and win they’ll still not give Bo credit. These are the same people referring to Daniel Jones as “Danny Dimes”. Jones is one dimensional when Jonathan Taylor is not having a good game. We haven’t had a consistent or elite running game all season and yet Bo still finds a way to be successful

  9. I love our defense with all my heart. But the offense definitely pulled more of the weight this game. And I love to see our offense kick it in to high gear.

  10. as I said in your last video, Football is not Madden, it's not balling out every down, and have perfekt completion percentage…….The Media has to come down and chill and have fun watching this games. Another big Problem are the stats, and the best. you can bet on everything and make money ,so this is what's ruining football

  11. To improve running up the middle….. Payton needs to run at least 1 Jet-Sweep and 1 Shuffle-Pass. This is the #1 way to get LB's thinking and moving out of the box before the snap. But only 1 attempt for every 19 fakes, that just makes the fakes worse than pointless. The more actual attempts, the more effective/productive the fakes become.

  12. Nick just hates Denver ever since the nuggets swept his lover (Bron). It's just bleed over to the rest of the state of Colorado. It actually probably goes back to when Joker won his first MVP. I remember when he said " history will judge him right that Joker is the worst MVP in last 30 years. I really can't stand the guy, his face is so punchable 😂😂😂

  13. People's gotten use to the new age football higher scoring 55-50 score games and 500+ yards offensive and have forgot this Denver broncos are playing like old school football clean, slow boring but effective and only take riske when your back is agesnt the wall {beside Sean Payton love for trying trick plays On 3 and short >.>}

  14. Just watch Bo…first half he's so jittery. 4th quarter he looks calm. Is he drinking 10 red bulls before game and they're wearing off by 4th quarter.? I dunno man. Maybe just super excited. Take a zanax

  15. They only talked about this game in the OT. They never brought up, arguably the best game of the day in the regular show. They spent two hours on, the chiefs, the eagles and the ravens with a smattering of cowboys thrown in. It was fucking outrageous!

  16. You're wrong Bo was average. Maybe a little below average and I feel like Bo could be better and he hasn't done that yet. So don't tell me he's great when I've watched every game with Bo and the only thing Bo has going for him which is the most important is wins. I've seen too many times where he stares down the receiver
