He has 2 games in hand on Demidov but still cool to see him on top of the leader board for the moment

He’s having such a great rookie season. It’s sad that he’ll almost certainly lose the Calder to Schaefer if things stay on their current trajectory.
At this point Schaeffer would get it. #1 overall pick. Sennecke would have to get ahead of Schaeffer by about 20 points by years end.
Schaefer will most certainly get it if the season ended today, just thought it was cool he was in 1st atm since alot of people thought (myself including) that verbeek was insane for using our 3rd pick to take him. Glad to be proven wrong though fucking love beckett glad hes killing it so far.

Technically Demidov has two games in hand on Sennecke. Games in hand mean you have more games left to play still thus more opportunities for points.
He’s so skilled and sees the game extremely well. Once he’s grown into his man body and gets a better understanding of how to protect himself and play the boards he could literally challenge Leo as our best player.
Sennecke also tied with Demidov for the lead in assists and in second (1 behind Schaefer) in goals.
Some stats that favor Sennecke: he has more games played but he also is generating more shots than Demidov (who is shooting an unsustainably high 21%) where as Beckett is around 15%, much more sustainable for a scoring forward who is spending a lot of time low around the net. Schaefer has a lot more shots on net and a lower shooting percentage (11%) but that is to be expected from a defensemen who runs a power play and gets lots of shots from up high in the zone.
I think right now its Schaefer’s race to lose, playing defense and he’s still keeping pace with both of the other forwards (Sennecke/Demidov) in scoring, while also playing 23 minutes a night and is a +7 on a bad team. If Schaefer falls off or gets hurt I think it could be neck and neck between Demidov/Sennecke with the slight edge to Beckett just because I think his minutes/game and shooting percentage lend themselves to being a bit more sustainable.
20 pts in 26 GP in crazy to think too considering Leo got 29 in his first year in 55 GP. Team is night and day though compared to what Leo had around him at the time, but still an insane pace for a 19 year old
I must confess I am one of those who never believed this would happen. He’s having a blast and I’m in for the ride.

Damn, is Beckett going to be better than Leo?
Yeah! Atta boy!
