I dont even understand the logic to tank this year. We have more firsts in the next two years than any other team has had in the past 10 years and there is no consensus generational talent at the top of the draft. Winning shows the guys in the locker room still care and shows they’re bought into what Glenn is building. If we want someone bad enough we have more than enough capital to go trade up and get them. We aren’t getting outbid.
What did Herm Edwards say?
Tanking isn’t even proven to work. If sucking ass is the first step to building a consistant competent team, then the jets would already be a dynasty. I see no shame in actually wanting to see your favorite team win every week
Lamar was pick #32. Mahomes wasn’t an early pick. People are looking at guys like Stroud, Nix, and Maye as the best QBs of their draft classes and they didn’t go 1st over all
Last year I could actually get behind the draft position argument because everyone was (did) get fired so there’s no positive outcome in winning.
This year it’s better when they win because the staff will be here next year and help better evaluate the staff as well as players and see they’re improving week after week especially with a very rough start at the beginning.
If we won a game or two off absurd special team single time plays, sure. But our special teams are ranked #1 in nearly every metric, and at lowest #3 really. They’re consistently good and that’s part of football. Ask the chargers in 2010 how much a consistent special teams can help/hurt a team and how much it means to
Is it flukey special teams if we’ve consistently had one of the best ST units in the league all year? I think it’s just the thing we’re best at
Way more important for a team to go 5-5 to finish season after starting 0-7 than to have a higher draft pick. Earlier pick helps but it won’t fix a broken team.
Well what has drafting a QB high ever done for this Sanchize…uh.. I mean franchise.
Team has a lot of capital, hopefully they can reload the team well. In the meantime I’d prefer seeing if this staff can actually change the culture and develop players.

Terminally online Jets fans are the worst.
