Shams Charania:
Chris Paul and his leadership style clashed with the Clippers, sources tell ESPN. Paul has been vocal in holding management, coaches and players accountable, which the team felt became disruptive. Specifically: Ty Lue was not on speaking terms with Paul for several weeks.

Veteran player doing veteran things is not liked in the locker room lmao. Clips are a joke
Ty Lue’s days seem to be numbered because what the fuck
Ty Lue has quickly turned into a Doc Rivers.
His coaching career is built off a single ring that star players carried him too.
Sounds like great coaching by Ty Lue
a head coach and player not being on speaking terms for several weeks is fucking crazy
like imagine going to work and not being on speaking terms with your manager for weeks
Not on speaking terms LMAO, NBA really is a soap opera
Why not just fire Lue then?
The longer Ty Lue and Lawrence Frank remain employed by the Clippers the more I’m convinced it’s because Ballmer wants to avoid them becoming key witnesses in the Aspiration investigation. Cause if it did happen, those two 100% would know and if they get fired there’s no motivation for them to hide it anymore.
Loser mentality. You signed Chris Paul and you got Chris Paul. It’d be worse if he was phoning in his last year.
All-time vocal leader gets punished by franchise for being all-time vocal leader ??
So in other words, nobody in that locker room gives a fuck except for CP3, and they got annoyed with him lmao
Joke franchise returns to joke franchise status (just without having a racist owner)
Can the NBA just demote the Clippers and subsequently void all their current and traded draft picks?
How tf you get kicked out of your retirement tour
Do the Clippers understand how embarrassing this sounds to everyone else?
He’s welcome at OKC
trying to paint CP3 as the bad guy for doing what vets do is certainly an interesting choice.
If you sign Chris Paul, don’t be surprised when he starts acting like Chris Paul. You’d think the Clippers of all teams would know what they were getting into.
Imagine not listening to Chris Paul…Clippers deserve every bad thing that comes their way
I mean who could see Chris Paul being a vocal leader coming lol
Clippers must be trying to be hated by everyone at this point. You don’t have to like Chris Paul to see that the way he’s being treated on his retirement tour is complete bullshit.
Clippers: “Yea we don’t do accountability here. Thank you for your service Mr Paul”
Accountability just isnt our vibe…
Maybe they should have promoted CP3 to GM. Guys an asshole but he’s a leader and winner. That organization needs a few more like Paul around.
Isn’t that, like, exactly what you bring in Chris Paul for?
“Chris Paul was trying to win and that is unacceptable to us”
-Clippers
So Chris Paul was calling them on their shit and they didn’t like it? Gotcha.
A team is absolute dog shit and the one person trying to hold them accountable is let go? If that aint a motto for the fucking world
Go to Oklahoma City CP3, be remembered for them more than the Clippers. Shai himself has talked about the influence he had on him. Thunder are 21-1, they wouldn’t play HARDER to get him a ring?
Fucking Balmer. Nothing but a tech bro thinking hes the smartest in the room
Here comes the attempted scapegoating of CP3.
Fuck off Ballmer, Frank and Lue. Like seriously fuck off.
Why is anyone surprised by this.
Him and Harden clearly had issues in HOU, but winning mostly solved that.
Also I can’t help to think about Kawhi’s role. Dude has been of the biggest divas in NBA history
From the recent payment scandal to the weird fallout with the Spurs. Is it really any surprise that controversy follows him around?
Paul George tells the story of Kawhi in practice where the coach would make you run sprints if you airball a shot. Kawhi airballs and then refused to do the sprint. Granted it’s a small thing and Kawhi’s reasoning isn’t something I necessarily disagree with, but it really just shows what type of leader Kawhi is. He thinks he’s above everyone else and doesn’t really believe in accountability
I wish I could not be accountable for anything at my job and just fire anyone who calls me out on it.
Like – this seems crazy to me. CP’s OKC year is an all-timer and folks around here credit him for SGA becoming **SGA** instead of “just” an all star caliber guy.
Lol I guarantee that Ty Lue felt he was ‘above’ Chris Paul’s accountability because he has a ring.
Bring in Chris Paul and expect him not to be Chris Paul? Did the Clippers expect someone else to come through those doors?
Bro you are coaching a absolute dumpster fire of a team, Ty Lue doesn’t have the leverage to not be on speaking terms with anyone.
Also, i just watched ESPN, can we please stop the overhyping of Ty Lue as a coach? dude rode Lebrons coattails to a championship and the world acts like hes the next Phil Jackson. Zero success without lebron so lets stop the BS.
Bruh you’re 5-16, a vet holding people accountable is exactly what your bum franchise needs lol
Can CP3 be a pain in the ass? Yes, obviously. BUT HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT BEFORE YOU SIGN HIM???
Not on speaking terms?? I’m sorry I thought these were grown men and not 12 year old girls wtf are we doing here
Holding people accountable? What do you think this is, Chris? A functional organization? Get this proven veteran leader out of here bro.
– Clippers management probably
Supposed legendary coach Lue can’t handle accountability, apparently.
I would love to know what exactly it was Paul came into and was immediately trying to correct.
I imagine it is the overall vibe of the team. For years, they’ve felt like a team going through the motions. Some of that is knowing your season is fucked every time Kawhi gets hurt, which is seemingly every year. Part of it is long term culture.
Not since the Blake griffin-CP3 clips have I felt like that was a team seriously trying to win a ring.
Yep. Winning franchises like OKC and the Spurs were thankful for Chris Paul’s “leadership style” and the players that he mentored are dominating the league rn.
He actually had much more playoff success in both Houston and Phoenix.
It’s only in this pathetic franchise that stupid stuff like this happens. It’s a shitty organization, I still can’t believe how much time I said it can’t get any worse and it got worse.
Chris Paul – “Seriously, what the fuck is everyone doing here? What is this fucking clown show?”
Clippers – “You know what, we don’t like your attitude, go home.”
Reading b/w the lines: CP3 embarrassed Lue/the coaching staff/management with his criticism, so they’re embarrassing him (and themselves) with how they’re letting him go.
“Oh no. He’s holding us accountable”
Loser ass franchise.
