Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs | Week 14 Game Preview
Houston Texans hit the road this week with their starting quarterback back behind center and riding a four-game win streak that has them right back in the thick of it. Fourth down and nine. Jones laces it and it’s incomplete. The Houston Texans number one defense comes through. They are in Kansas City to take on a Chiefs squad in desperation mode. Turkey Day loss put them back at the 500 mark for the year. Pass is on the money as Dak is able to hit Pickkins and the Chiefs without timeouts. Dallas with a first down. It’s over. I mean, unless something crazy happens. Conversation between these two teams starts with Kansas City’s O line trying to keep Will Anderson and Denil Hunter off Patrick Mahomes back. Because despite his fine play last week, Chief’s offense was once again stunted by Mahomes being dropped. He’s taken three plus sacks in five straight games now. Not coincidentally, Kansas City has lost three of their last four. Three sacks taken in their latest L. Now it breaks down and guess who’s got them. Look at clowning in on them. Making things more problematic, their line already missing guard Trey Smith saw both their starting tackles leave the game hurt last week and they didn’t return. No matter who lines up at those spots, they’re in for a long day. Anderson and Hunter, now there’s a worthy adversary. They don’t wear black pajamas and neither came up with a sack last week. Houston only backed Daniel Jones once. Didn’t pressure him a ton. Those are usually staples to their once again number one scoring defense. Leaprogged the Rams after holding the top scoring offense in the NFL to 16 points. Jones can’t get out of there. Houston makes him pay. The Texans get Sheldon Rankkins home. Texans have held five of the last six offenses they faced to 19 or fewer points. Secondary shows up after facing Daniel Jones. Gave up 7.4 yards per attempt to him. Two TDs, no picks, a 101 rate. Gave up a long pass play to Jonathan Taylor out of the back field. A 34yd pass to Josh DS on a great catch. 78 yds in a TD allowed to Alec Pierce. Float it endzone. Pierce has got it. Touchdown 101 rate for the team. Number one in rating allowed is pretty high, but only 201 passing yards allowed. The most passing yards they’ve given up this year, 226. That was week one, under 202 in every game since. Now, Houston’s DB’s lineup across from Mahomes, who heads into week 13 off a nice showing, had scuffled a little his three previous outings. Rebounded for 261 yards, four touchdowns, no picks, a rate near 130. And heaving it down the field wide open is worthy. Unbelievable play by Momes. Chief’s offense, which had finished with less than 24 points their previous three straight with 28 points versus Dallas, went three for three on fourth down tries. Three for three inside the 20 with a blocker in front. Wy in front and Rice is free to the end zone for a Kansas City touchdown. Rashe Rice led the way through the air versus the Cowboys. 92 yards, two TDs, 90 plus yard games, back-to-back weeks. Now throws and is pulled down for the catch. The touchdown by Rice. Xavier Worthy has averaged 60 yards over his last two games after laying down 61 versus Dallas. Over to Worthy again. Shoved out by Bland about a yard short of the first. Yeah, he’s in rhythm. And Travis with a touchdown in that loss. Kelsey 45 yds, 43 the week before. Momes looking in the end zone and he goes to Kelsey for the touchdown. Hollywood Brown two catches a touchdown only 20 yards. Kareem Hunt, a 22-y reception to go along with 58 rush yards, 4.1 per try. They’ve got it to Hunt and they’re going to be able to move the drive on down the field. Isaiah Pacheco returned only three carries, 16 yards. Texans front carries its weight as they have made it rough on running backs this season. Held the league’s top running back, Taylor, to four a carry, 21 attempts. And Taylor gets brought down behind the line of scrimmage. Most Chiefs fans will tell you our D just did all that to them, too. Held Taylor in check. Made Indiana Jones look like he did in the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Held the topscoring offense to 20 points. No need to run to hims.com or anything. Last week’s 31 points given up to Dallas, a reflection of Madagascar Marty being jumpy with the laundry and the Cowboys offense being tough to stop no matter who they’re playing. Can they convert here? Prescott looking around in trouble. Flips it to Williams for the touchdown at the last moment. Not sure if Hims has something for a soft defense anyway, but if they do, Kansas City secondary should put an order in for something to help them defend the pass a little better. Gave up over a 100 yards to CD Lamb and a score. Over 80 yards allowed to George Pickkins, 320 yards, and two touchdowns to Dak Prescott. Harowets around the defender and takes off past Edwards. Oh my gosh. Rate allowed to Prescott over a 100, which puts them at 1 and3 in games where the opposing quarterback walks out with a triple digit rating. CJ Strad did not come close to a 100 rate in his return. Finally made it back from his concussion. No touchdowns. Got picked off once. It was a bad one. A 75 rate. Downfield too high. Intercepted by Binham. Straoud has only topped a 100 rate in three of his nine starts, but he also put up 276 yards versus Indie, close to eight yards per attempt. Made plenty of nice downfield throws in a tough, gritty type game. Plenty of good to build on as he knocks off the rust. Play action. Straoud. He’s open. Nico Collins. The defender fell down and Collins turned around. The ball was there. Straoud took two sacks. He’s a two to three sacks taken a game type of guy versus a Chief’s pass rush that didn’t reach Prescott once on 39 chances. They’re now averaging less than two sacks a game for the season. Top priorities for their past defenders, Nico Collins, who led them with 98 yards versus the Colts. He’s been on the upswing 75 plus yards, four of his last five. Snatched by Collins. Collins with yards after the catch. 21 yds on the hookup. Jaden Higgins has steadily been working his way into more looks. Caught all five of his targets for a season high 65 yards a week ago. Second and nine. Straoud a bullet caught by Higgins. First down. Xavier Hutchinson with five looks, 39 yds. And Dalton Schultz 55 yds, seven catches. And he fires that one to Schultz who catches it and takes it to the 31. Texans run game is a lot like Kansas City’s. always the X factor. Woody Marks 19 attempts, 64 yards, only 3.4 a carry last week. Couple of key chunky runs though. Nick Chub, nine attempts, 34 yards, a touchdown. Should get plenty of chances to keep Kansas City’s defense honest, as they say. They held Javvante Williams to 3.5 a run on his 17 attempts, but gave up over 130 yards on 5.3 a carry for the game, primarily due to letting Malik Davis get away for a 43 yd touchdown. Look out, here goes Davis. Malik Davis in the end zone. Kansas City has beat the Texans five straight times, most recently in last year’s playoffs. Also took him down the very first time they met in 2003. And how bar to throw. Once a first down, it’s picked off. Shannard Harts 25 20 15 10 5 reaches out for the end zone. Touchdown. Quarterback Trent Green found Eddie Kenisonson for his first scoring play of the year. And then Dante Hall went coast to coast for the second time in as many weeks. Picks it up. First guy misses. Second, third guy miss Dante Hall gets a block from play lock up the right side. 2540. Cuts back right. He’s up to 25. An incredible punt return by Dante Hall. He’s got it. He cut back left. It is a touchdown. [Music]

28-24 Houston
Thank you kindly Game Preview GuAI 😁👌🏈
Possible snow game. We will see how it goes. Go CHIEFS
Season is on the line for Chiefs, they have to win out. Their O-Line is beat up and Texans defense is best in the league.
Texans should end the chiefs season
The Chiefs practically have to win all remaining games just for a chance at the playoffs. I've predicted the last 4 Chiefs games wrong so I'm going to take a week off. Good thing I don't bet.
Revenge for texans
When Adam picks the Chiefs, something’s fishy 😂 That guy hates them.
This judges panel hates the Texans 🤣
We’ve never won in KC, Will this be the first time?
Most important thing to pay attention to here is that the chiefs are playing the best pass rush duo in the league and they’re missing both of their starting tackles.
i seen the same kinda preview picks last week against the bills and look what the texans did yall keep picking against them cuz i love to see them prove the whole league wrong
Sunday Night it’s gonna be HTOWN all the way !!!!! 🙏🏽☝🏽
lmao why do almost 90% of these “experts” hate houston? do they even watch the games?
Chiefs with the upset
Another tough game for Houston. Yeah, KC hasn't looked like the KC from old. But they are still KC. Anything can happen. Houston can set a huge statement if they get a win in Arrowhead. Especially in this time of year.
I say the Texans O-Line is going to put in work on Mahomes. Should be an entertaining game
This game will PERMANENTLY end Kansas City's AFC Dynasty, Send Travis Kelce to a Retirement Home, and trade Patrick "Sucky Mahomes" Mahomes to the Dallas Cowboys for Joe Milton III. Houston may be my division rival to my Jags, but since they beat us by scoring 26 unanswered points in the 4th 4 weeks ago, They have a chance to do the Impossible. Texans get a statement and revenge win 27-20, PERIOD!
I got to see it to believe it for my texans we lose these type of games
Hearing it’s gonna be like 25 degrees in Arrowhead that night. Texans are a better team on paper, but are barely productive in cold weather, especially Kansas City cold weather….really hope I’m wrong and the Chiefs lose
5:26–5:30 His QBR was north of 110 on 3rd down, that's a major reason why the Texans won the game.
Who's gonna get their tonsils tickled
Texans have a chance to put Kansas City’s playoff hopes to sleep & end a dynasty 😮
The Chiefs are not out of contention just yet…
Why does everybody hate the Chiefs? Y'all didn't act this way when it was the Patriots winning far too many years – and they did cheat several times!!!
GO TEXANS. Go and get the upset win
People forget chiefs same o line also played Texans last time they met !
I still got the Chiefs no matter what it’s not over till it’s over if they lose then on next season, but you never count the Chiefs out until the last play of the game
Mahomes is 3-1 lifetime against the Texans and 13-6 lifetime on Sunday night
