Alex Golesh has landed a big win on the trail for Auburn, flipping wide receiver Brian Williams Jr. from Alabama. He had been committed to the Crimson Tide since July this year, but is now headed to Auburn to be a Tiger.

From The First Academy (Fla.), Williams is listed at 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds. Williams is ranked in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite as the No. 1,049 player, No. 148 wide receiver and No. 112 player from Florida.

While Williams had been committed to the Crimson Tide since July, he had been considering other options throughout the fall. That included a pair of lowkey visits to USF to visit Golesh’s program. Kodi Burns, who is following Golesh and returning to his alma mater, had been leading the way in recruiting him and now gets him — just at Auburn.

As a senior in 10 games, Williams caught 34 passes for 555 yards and seven touchdowns for his team. He caught 23 passes for 359 yards and five touchdowns as a junior where he played at Lake Mary (Fla.).

Williams is the latest addition to Auburn’s 2026 class, with the full commitment list available HERE.

247Sports scouting report on Williams:

“Traits-heavy outside wide receiver with the length and athleticism to bake into a difference-maker, but one where the on-field production has yet to really materialize. Looks the part with a lanky frame that stretches close to 6-foot-4 and pairs the outstanding size with green speed and explosion scores. Displays good initial burst off the line and will sink his hips to snap in and out of his breaks. Not the most physical player at this stage, but finds ways to beat man coverage with his quick feet and sharp releases. Missed time as a junior due to injury, but drew plenty of attention when he was in the lineup for Florida’s 7A runner-up. Must keep progressing and avoid further setbacks, but projects at this stage as a multi-year contributor at the Power Four level.”
