    Either way, a questionable start to his Mets Tenure.

  9. The same fans that can’t shut the fuck up about Sonny Gray and talk about how “the Mets don’t matter, they’re just the Mets” and yet have a snide ass comment and 3 page dissertation about every single roster transaction the Mets make. I’m shocked, truly, that they’re harassing Williams.

  11. I’m sure there are many fans who wanted him DFA’d and many upset he’s now with the Mets, I’m not sure those are the same people tho

    There’s a Venn diagram overlap of the absolute dumbest and loudest people though 

    (Theres also another circle without any overlap of Yankee fans who thought he was pretty good and sharp at times but a little disappointing overall)

  12. As a Yankee fan who lives in NYC and is surrounded by plenty of real Yankee fans, I haven’t heard a single one upset about him leaving for the Mets.

    This sounds like a made up rant to make himself seem cooler. Has he shown any DMs from Yankee fans supposedly “angry?”

  17. Devin ends the decades-long embarrassing facial hair rule for the Yankees and their fans still hate him. I’m not sure what would make a Yankees fan happy at this point. Thank the gods my dad was a Mets fan.

  27. I honestly didn’t give a shit where he went. He was a reliever who was with us for a year and struggled for a good stretch of the season, if he goes crosstown, whatever. At most, I just joked they signed another former Yankee. They’ve signed damn near dozens in the last 3 or so offseasons.

Yankees fans love to accuse the Mets of “little brother syndrome” and going after their former players that they don’t want anymore, meanwhile they employed former Mets Amed Rosario, Marcus Stroman, Carlos Carrasco, Paul Blackburn, Geoff Hartlieb, and Pablo Reyes this year who produced a net combined negative 0.9 bWAR.

  47. On one hand, I totally believe there were some blowhard Yankee fans in his DMs (because the fanbase is huge and terminally online Yankee fans are unhinged). On the other hand, he’s in for a rude awakening with the classically buttoned up Mets fans if he pitches like he did in 2025.
