WILD SCENARIO: How 49ers Can Jump To #2 Seed Without Playing During Bye Week In NFC Playoff Picture

How about this? This is pretty wild. Did you know that the San Francisco 49ers can get a win in week 14 during their by-week without playing a game? We’re talking about that on today’s San Francisco 49ers report. And I’ll tell you what, I cannot wait for this stretch run for San Francisco. It’s going to be epic. Playoff football is arriving early. NerS have that week 14 buy. Then coming out of it, they’re already sizable favorites at home against the Tennessee Titans. But then after that, three straight games against teams that would all be in the playoffs if the season were to end today. On the road against the Colts on Monday Night Football, prime time at home against the Bears on Sunday Night Football, prime time. Then a huge NFC West rivalry game, one of the best rivalries in all of sports between the Niners and the Seahawks. And that game right there, it could determine a playoff spot, a playoff seed, the number one seed, the NFC West crown. so many implications. So, if you’re a Niners fan, the final five weeks of the year has to get you fired up, which brings me to this. If you’re excited for some meaningful December, January football, with December officially underway, I want you to hit that thumbs up icon and like the video. Earlier this week, we did over 2,000 likes on a single show. I want to smash that record. And with that, let’s dive in. [Music] This is the San Francisco 49ers report. Chase Senior here with you as always. No matter where you are, how you’re tuned in, thank you so much for making today’s show a part of your day. This is a perfect way to really set the table, put the napkins down, get your silverware out, and set the foundation for what we’re talking about on today’s show by looking at the NFC playoff picture. And going into the 2025 season, I don’t think a lot of people saw that the NFC going into December would look like this. The Chicago Bears the number one seed at 9 and3 Rams two seed 9 and3 Eagles kind of reeling right now three seed at 8-4. The Buccaneers clinging to a lead in the NFC South number four seed at seven and five. The Seattle Seahawks a wildcard team with a 9 and3 record. Same record as the 1 and2 seed the Green Bay Packers right there too 83 and one. And if I would have told you that the Niners would lose Fred Warner, Nick Bosa, and once again be one of the most injured teams in football, yet going into week 14, they’d be 9 and4. You’d say, “Chase, you’re crazy.” But that’s where we are. Other teams in the mix, Detroit Lions at 7-5, Dallas Cowboys 65-1, Carolina Panthers at 7 and6. And things can change drastically this week in the NFC for San Francisco without the NerS playing a game. Here’s what I mean by that. There are a couple of matchups here that we really want to focus in on while the Niners are getting rested up. The first one, Chicago Bears on the road playing the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. This game taking place on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. Eastern. The Packers six and a half point favorites, the overunder for this game at 44 and a half. These two teams will meet twice over the next three weeks. That’s going to decide a lot. The other game that we’re going to hone in on here inside the NFC West, Seattle Seahawks on the road playing the Atlanta Falcons, MercedesBenz Stadium. Kickoff is 100 p.m. Eastern in Atlanta. The Seahawks touchdown favorites against Atlanta with the overunder there at 44 and a half. And then the last one, Rams on the road against the Cardinals. NFC West bout Sunday 4:25 p.m. Eastern at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. The Rams also sizable favorites minus 8. So the Cardinals getting eight points there and the overunder 48 even. And so the 49ers here based upon those three games have an opportunity to go from the final wildcard spot, the seven seed, all the way up to the two seed on their by-week. How is this possible? We’re going to talk about all of those implications coming up just around the corner. But let’s get to our sponsor, our friends at Price Picks, making today’s San Francisco 49ers report possible. It’s good to be right. All right. to those scenarios which would allow the NerS to go from the seven seed to the two seed without playing a game while they get healthy and they rest up. Bears Packers scenario number one. If the Bears beat the Packers, the Niners move up to the number six seed and they pass Green Bay. If the Packers beat the Bears, the Niners move up to the six seed and they pass Chicago. Bears Packers scenario number three. If the Packers and the Bears tie, the Niners jump the Packers based on NFC record. Moving on up, regardless of what happens between the Bears and the Packers, San Francisco this week will jump one of those teams. Seahawks Falcons scenario here. If the Seahawks lose to Atlanta, the Niners jump up from the seven seed to the number five seed. There is one scenario between the Rams and the Cardinals here. If the Rams lose to Arizona, the Niners advance up to the number five seed. And how about the Wild Wild West? If the Seahawks and the Rams lose, then the Ners jump up all the way to the number two seed. And some people might say, Chase, that’s impossible. What happened last week? A result happened that we all thought was impossible. The Carolina Panthers coming off that loss on Monday Night Football to the Ner at home as 10point underdogs beat the Los Angeles Rams in a game that featured five different lead changes. Ladies and gentlemen, any given Sunday is a saying for a reason because anything can happen on any given Sunday. The NFL is as powerful as it is because there’s so much intrigue. There are so many shocking results and crazy things happen. And there are some crazy things that could go down this week. And if those scenarios play out, the Niners could go from the seven seed to the two seed. At the very least, they can move up to the six seed or the five seed, which is still pretty damn awesome. 1. The last three games are a perfect ramp up too. First the colts, who led the AFC a few weeks ago, but have shown weakness since, then the bears, current leaders of the NFC who people are doubting against the packer right now, and finally the Seahawks, who could very well be leading the NFC by week 18. It's truly the playoffs before the playoffs. πŸ˜‚

  2. Yeah Chase the niners are favor by a lot against the Titans but they can't look pass the Titans if they do the niners can lose the game and the niners can't afford it.

  3. Thanks Chase. A game to watch is the rams and the Cardinals. That could be a trap game for the Rams. Stafford folds up like a lawn chair under pressure and the Cardinals have a decent pass rush. They have nothing to lose and can be spoilers. The Falcons sux so the Seahawks are safe. But there will be some movement.

  4. I don't want to get my hopes up. Niners are not a strong team, we are benefitting from an easy schedule sprinkled with some luck. I feel like our true level this season is when the Rams scored 42 on us.

  5. Let's go niners bang bang niner gang let's do our thing just take care of business in the regular season punch our tickets to the playoffs and go get that Lombardi in Levi stadium. forever 49er faithful it'red and gold until I'm dead and cold

  6. The NFC playoffs will be fun. Tbh I like our chances vs the Bears. The Eagles and Bucs are not on the same level as early in the season. Divisional playoff games are usually close. And Packers in the playoffs vs the 49ers? 😏
