🚨Warriors Make SNEAKY GOOD SIGNING + Jimmy Butler Injury Update

[Music] The Golden State Warriors fall after a hard-fought battle in the second half against OKC24 to 112. We’ll talk about this game and everything that went on, the performances that we saw from some unlikely heroes in the Warriors lineup. We’ll also talk about Jimmy Butler who went down with injury in this game. We have an update on Steph Curry as well. But before we get into all of that stuff, before this Thunder game, the Warriors went out there and made a move. They made a sneaky good signing in my opinion that can make a major impact on this roster down the stretch of the season. Didn’t see him against the Thunder, but I think we’ll be seeing him very, very soon. We’ll tell you who it is in just a moment. Because the Warriors went out there and made a big time move and signed a player to a two-way contract. And that player being LJ Crier, who was a part of this Warriors team in training camp in the preseason and now, like I alluded to way back when, if you watch those shows, he’s back with the Golden State Warriors. I predicted that LJ Crier would be this year’s Quinton Post, the guy who comes along, gets the two-way contract, and then ends up getting the standard deal once the new year rolls around. We’ll see if that last part ends up holding true, but he enters this Warriors team averaging 24 points in the G- League in seven games for Santa Cruz, shooting 41% on 12.4 attempted threes per night. What I can tell you about LJ Crier is he’s a big-time shot maker and a big-time shot taker as well. As part of this move, the Warriors ended up waving Jackson Row, who we all know really hasn’t gotten much of a career going with the Golden State Warriors to this point. Now, they bring in LJ Crier on a two-way deal. So, he’ll still continue to spend time with the Santa Cruz Warriors down there in the G-League, but he will also be available for Warriors games on the main roster. And with Steph down, with Jimmy down, those are two ball handlers that are gone from the rotation here. Could LJ Crier be playing some pretty big minutes over these next few weeks? I think so. And I know Warriors fans are going to be like, “Oh my goodness, they use this spot. They signed a player who is 6’1 when this team needs size.” I understand that, Greg. But let me sell you on LJ Crier here. If you think back to the preseason with the performance that he had, the Warriors down 20 in the fourth quarter against the Trailblazers. LJ Crier went off 14 points. He was a plus 25 in that game. Hit three massive threes, including a dagger one to go up five in the last minute of that game. Just stepped into one. Nobody was guarding him. He took the big shot and made the big shot. He’s been doing that since his collegiate days. Was a national champion. is a freshman with Baylor, was a national runner up last season with the Houston Cougars, and he’s just been one of the best guards at that level for four straight years, and now he’s in the NBA, and he’s going to get his shot with the Golden State Warriors. Like I mentioned, he was averaging pretty good numbers with Santa Cruz here when he was going out there in his first seven games, averaging 24 points, five rebounds, six assists in those seven games. because he’s also coming off a performance where he had 26 points, 10 uh re 10 assists, and nine rebounds. So, for those of you who are saying, “Oh, 6’1, we’re not going to get anything out of this guy.” Well, he can also rebound the basketball as well. A physical guy who just wants to go out there and win it. Now, how could LJ Crier kind of be implemented for the Golden State Warriors? Well, with these vet injuries that they got going on with Steph being hurt, with Jimmy being hurt, with them having to load manage as well as the year goes along, you’re just going to need more ball handling at the end of the day. Guys who can dribble and guys who can score. And we saw that in this Thunder game. Guys who can dribble and score were making a big-time impact. Seth Curry, Pat Spencer, they were making huge impacts in this game because they can dribble and score. I know it seems very like juvenile to say if you can dribble and score you should be on this team but there are so many players on this roster that just cannot. So LJ Crier provides that for you. He also provides a pretty solid defense for the most part as well as he was a really good team defender every year of his collegiate career. He was on some really really good team defenses in Baylor and Houston. You also with this addition of LJ Crier, you got to think down the line about these consolidation trades or big trade that Golden State is going to make because one thing is clear that we’ll talk about further on today’s video. Jonathan Kaminga is being traded. I would presume that there is more added to a Jonathan Kaminga trade. So, they’re going to be trading multiple players for potentially one or two guys. So, you’re going to have guys leaving the roster here. You’re going to need guys to replace him. LJ Crier is going to be one of those guys if and when Buddy He Moses Moody, any of those guys could be dealt away from Golden State. Look, man, I expect him to be an impact guy. He’s one of the collegiate level. He’s going to contribute to winning at the NBA level as well. More often than not, those guys are are the ones that end up, you know, working in the NBA. They might not be the flashiest athlete or the youngest prospect. He is 24 years old, but he knows how to win ball games and that’s what matters at the end of the day. Raid the signing for me down in the chat right now of LJ Crier. A B CD or F. What do you guys think? Let me know down in the comments section as we got to talk about some injuries here to the Warriors roster. First, we’ll get into a Steph Curry injury update. It’s unfortunate news as Steph Curry did say that he will not make the upcoming road trip. They are hopeful though, as I look this up, uh that he will end up uh being available next week, next Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home. So, a couple more games at minimum here, at least the next four games going to be without Steph at minimum. So, that’s just really not great news considering the results they’ve had without him on the floor. Jimmy Butler left this game in the first half and did not return in the second half with knee soreness. And I don’t know if it was him potentially just not wanting to be out there. He was dealing with a limp. Like, so I’m not going to go out there and make conspiracy theories about Jimmy Butler, but you could clearly see him more engaged when Steph is out there, when Draymond’s out there. Um, he was getting doubled a ton in this game as well. When you don’t have scoring threats outside of him or shooting threats outside of Jimmy Butler, when he’s already not a threat from long range, it just doesn’t bode well for the Golden State Warrior offense. They actually ended up being more successful with Jimmy out out of the game in this one. So, I don’t know if there’s much to take away from that, but definitely something to note in this game. So, uh, with that being said, the Warriors dealing with a bunch of injuries to their two best players, over hund00 million committed to two guys who are not on the floor right now. It’s not going to be easy to win games doing that. And it wasn’t easy in this Thunder game, which we’re going to talk about on the back half of today’s program. Warriors news from the Thunder game is they got some big-time performances and we learned a little bit more about what this team’s going to do the rest of the season that around the corner. It’s good to be right. All right, so this Warriors game was an interesting one, right? Because they ended up going down 19 points at the halftime break, as much as down 22 in that third quarter early on, but then they ended up coming back and it was a fake comeback. The Thunder ended up covering the spread in this one of 11 and a half points somehow someway. It was a lot closer down the stretch than the score suggests. Golden State got a lot in that third quarter from maybe the most unlikely lineup that we’ve ever seen in our lives. Seth Curry in his Warriors debut. Pat Spencer, two guys we just got to talk about in a moment. Buddy Heield, who I think just doesn’t deserve to be on this team anymore. I can’t believe that they were making the run with him in the on the floor. Jonathan Kaminga, who barely got time in this one. Again, incredible that they made this run with him on the floor being as cold as he was. And then Quinton Post. I don’t know how much we’ll see that lineup again, but shout out to them for going out there and playing damn hard. And look, we can really attribute the success on the floor when that group was out there to Seth Curry. I mean, my goodness, what a performance in his Warriors debut from the the second splash bro, the sous chef, you could call him. I mean, the guy doesn’t even have a picture yet registered in the NBA database for for the Warriors. And this guy went off, man. Six of seven from the field. He was a plus 14 in 14 minute or he had 14 points in 14 minutes. I think he was a plus six over that time. It it was awesome to watch him play, man. He was hitting jumpers, step back jumpers at that. He was working the mid-range. He was in his threes as well. Two of three from deep. He was available around the rim as well. Made a couple of layups out there. All three level scores from Seth from Seth Curry tonight. It was just awesome to see. And he’s rightfully earning himself some minutes in this lineup. You just see when the ball comes off of his hands, it’s pure. You can’t teach that to a lot of guys out there. And you can’t teach the heart and the just I want to go mess you up attitude that this guy has out there. Clear out. Give the ball to pass Spencer. He’s going to make something happen. I mean, I was trashing on it. The fact that he was getting minutes in the first quarter of this game because let’s be honest, he’s a two-way player. He’s not a great at least frame defender. He tries his butt off out there. It’s awesome. But this guy proved me wrong time and time again. He just has that dog in him. He was getting in his bag. He had a little like drop step step through move to the cup that we had that saw in that fourth quarter. He was hitting a fade away fall away jumper over Chad Homegrren. The the favorite to win defensive player of the year by the way. He passed Spencer in the rotation. Also had six assists, no turnovers. 17 points, six assists, no turnovers. You know who didn’t put that stat line up in this game? Jonathan Kaminga. You know who else didn’t put that stat line up up in this game? Oh, by the way, John the Kim is making $24 million, but he healed who’s making $9 million for four for [ __ ] 15. I can’t believe I just dropped the fbomb. But that’s just how upset I am with some of the guys making money on this Warriors team. Two of nine from three. Give me a break. Moses Moody, how many times he going to get blown by on defense? That’s got him taken out of the game. And he wasn’t doing anything on the offensive end either. One for five from the field, one for five from three. The Warriors pay too many players who cannot dribble and not score. And I think it’s been more clear than ever that Jonathan Kaminga is being traded. Um, he has been excommunicated from this rotation. I know he was in there for that run for Golden State, but man, Steve Kirk couldn’t wait to yank him. He ended up playing 16 minutes in this game. did not play any of the final eight minutes of this game. That that tells you a lot. That that just tells you a lot at the end of the day about how Steve Kerr about how this team feels about Jonathan K. I was hearing people in the chat tell me he’s up and down the floor just jogging. He’s disengaged. No smile like like it’s just guy doesn’t want to be there. So let’s expect this process. Why the hell with a new CBA does it take so long to trade a player you just signed? I don’t get it. But we have to wait until January 15th. We have another six weeks with Jonath Kaminga on this roster at minimum. We just got to deal with it. Uh but I hate to say it. I told you so. I told all of you that he is not good. And he continues to prove it time and time again. So the Warriors fall short in this game. They showed some heart. Shout out to Spencer. Shout out to Seth. Um, but just wasn’t enough at the end of the day. Uh, shout outs, I guess, to Pods a little bit. We We had to talk about him because he did have 17 in this game as well. Um, Spencer, by the way, was eight of his first 11 from the field. Pods really started nice in this game, too, but went super dormant for the second and third quarters. Um, I mean, he had nine points in the first quarter and eight points the rest of the game. He’s just inconsistent and he’s just not that good at the end of the day. Four turnovers for P tonight. A lot of them were preventable and silly. And you know that that that’s what ends up, you know, winning the game for OKC, right? What do they have? What do they end up having? 23 points off turnovers, 14 fast break points. You did limit them on the offensive glass with their second chance points in this one. So that credit to you for that, but I I just don’t think this team is good enough. I think I’ll reiterate it again. This team is not good enough at the end of the day.
