Crazy Details REVEALED About Possible TRADES…

Crazy details revealed about possible trade targets for the Padres’s as these players could be made available by their teams and would be nice fits on the Padres’s. Let’s talk about it. Hi, welcome back to another episode of Padres’s Digest with your host Andrew. As always, we’re looking for players that could add or benefit on this team. Today is not free agency stuff, though. For the next two videos, we’re going to have some trade talks. Now, before anyone says anything, Andrew, we have no prospects. Well, we have some. And these players shouldn’t be as expensive as say trading for Juan Sodto or trading for whoever we trade for. That costs way too much. These should be reasonably priced. I mean, some of them are going to be kind of more expensive, let’s be honest. But I still think we have the capital in order to trade for these players. It’s all about skill versus contract versus uh prospect amount. I don’t know. I don’t know math. But anyways, let’s just jump right into it because I do I do think some of these players are exciting. Also, please apply if you would like. Uh firstly, let’s start with well, let me show you this first. I got it from an article from Jeff Passan, ranking players who could be traded. Uh and I had my best friend chat GBT go through the list and find ones that the Padres’s were linked to, how much their trade percentage was according to Jeff Passan, and how good of a fit they would be for the Padres’s. So, there’s five players here. I only have three. The two I do not have, which I would agree are great fits for the team. Uh, but they would be too expensive, right? Pablo Lopez, Freddy Peralta. Pablo Lopez because the Twins are probably going to rebuild and they want good players back. Uh, and Pablo Lopez is a good pitcher. And Freddy Peralta because I just don’t think the Brewers really want to get rid of him to be honest. And I think it would cost a lot to get rid of him. I saw today that the reports that they’re going to creek the door open in the Peralta trade talks. What does that mean exactly? I don’t know. But the ones we’re going to focus on are Brady Singer, Edward Cabrera, and Chris Bubik. But the one I want to start with who I think I know it says weak fit for the Padres’s, but I think he would be the best fit. Again, Tachi, but he’s not my opinion. My opinion is my opinion. Uh, so let’s start with Chris Bubik. Left-handed pitcher for the Kansas City Royals. 30% chance of getting rated uh traded. The Buzz. The former first round pick finally broke out last year, earning an all-star bid with a sub3 erra and the peripherals to match. Then he suffered a shoulder injury and didn’t pitch in August or September. Any deal for Bubick is a bet on his health. And though Kansas City might have to tap into its rotation to get an outfield bat, he is perhaps the best combination of performance and affordability. Questions not not withstanding. The scouting report. Bubic added a slider in 2025 to bridge the gap between his fastball change up and sweeper and it helped him look like a frontline pitcher for 20 starts. Even as his fastball vo decreased due decreased a tick due to his longer outings, he’s not the same pitcher as fellow Royal lefty Cole Reagan. But a pretty similar situation transitioning from reliever to starter with Kansas City in 2023 happened with him and Reagan’s posted a 4.9 war in his next season on route to a fourth place AL Siangu Sai Young finish in 2024. I ran out of breath. Uh team fits as you can see Padres’s right there. So basically the situation here is that he was a reliever who turned into a starter. Sorry for the lawn mower in the background. uh played really well then got injured but I don’t want to say that’s kind of expected for a player whose workload has been amped up significantly but it kind of is right I mean we did the same thing with Seth Lugo and now Seth Lugo is one of the better pitchers in the Royals rotation uh but Chris Bubick he has some good uh looking stats with him so as you can see right 255 RA but only 20 starts so obviously there is the injury risk but as you can see from the stats most of them being red. I think it is significantly worth a risk. So, fast ball vo 92 is not great. I mean, it’s not horrible, but it’s not great, right? Uh, but he has some great breaking stuff. Good relative. Yeah, we’re like good uh off speed stuff. It’s still an average fast ball, but the pitching run value is pretty great. Expected erra was 316, but here it was 255. So, yeah. I mean, as a starter, he did a good job, but the biggest concern is his injury risk. So, Chris Bubic 30% why he fits. Prell loves lefty reclamation projects. Cheap plus soft tossing with new slider. Why he’s last? Uh, shoulder issue risky. Royals may keep him if they move Singer instead. Uh, cost low fit longot depth play. Brady Singer. Do they mean Brady Singer? Because I’m pretty sure he’s not on the Royals anymore. So, I don’t know what you are doing, Mr. Chat GBT. But, okay. Hold I got to be I got to double check that cuz I need to know. Uh yeah, he’s a he’s a red. So what are you doing chatbt? Anyways, uh so he still has this year left and then next year he’ll have another arbitration year. So he has two years left on his deal. Well, it says both 2026. I don’t know what you’re trying to say here, Mr. Sporatic website. But my point being, he’s good, right? Injury risk obviously. Can he withstand an entire year? I don’t know. But to be honest, there’s a lot of question marks on this rotation with like Joe Musgrove coming back. I mean, you Darvish is done, right? So, I don’t think as much as much as of a risk this would be. I don’t think throwing another question mark is really going to hurt us that much. Uh, knock on wood. I don’t have any wood near me. Yeah, I do. Hold on. You couldn’t hear that, but I knocked on wood. But I think out of all the pitchers on this list, I think he would be the best fit. Now, moving on to the one who would be like second best. We’ve made videos on him before. I know Christian has at least. But Edward Cabrera, he has a 40% chance getting traded from the Marlins. The buzz. The hardthrowing Cabrera exceeded 100 innings for the first time in his career in 2025 and flash frontline starter ability. Is that enough for teams to try to acquire him? Due to Cabrera’s injury history, his ceiling, and three years of control, a deal is likely tough to gauge. The Marlins understandably want premium prospects back, and teams understandably are wary of the red flags. the scouting report. Even though he h he averages 97 miles per hour with the four seam and two seam fast balls, the shape of Cabrera’s heater is ordinary and the outcomes are quite bad as a result. On the bright side, his slider, curveball, and change up are all above average plus pitches and he has solid control. So, it’s a matter of playing into his strengths. Cabraer turns 28 in April and comes with three years of control at arbitration prices and big upside if he can build upon his careerhigh of 137 and twothirds innings. And as you can see, almost the last one. Padres’s are a good fit. So once again, another high upside, very risky, injury-prone pitcher. Again, we’ve done videos on him. He’ll be 28 next year, but a 353 erra in 26 starts. Pretty pretty good. I mean, look at the fast ball. His fast ball, we’ve already said sucks. Uh, and you can see he only throws it 12.7% of the time on the right side. Uh, on here it says two, right? Yeah, 13%. So, he’s going to throw more off speed stuff than he does fast balls, but I mean, look at his breaking stuff. Look at his off speed stuff. They’re basically all both great. Uh, but the VO really good. Just not a good control on the fast ball. Not a good shape on the fast ball. But everything else is either average or above average on his stat line. Uh, is just can he stay healthy and how much would it cost to get him? Now, Chad GBT says it shouldn’t cost super super much compared to the other players that we saw here. I would like to I would think Edward Cabrera would be cheaper uh or more expensive than Pablo Lopez, but Chad GBT says no. And I think both would be relatively well, I could see Pablo Lopez going for a lot like I was saying because the Twins are selling, but I don’t know. I’ll let you guys decide that. But Padres’s love high stuff upside arms. Cabrera has insane insane pitch grades. 97 mph elite breakers. Marlins are dealing from starting pitching depth obviously risk injuries plus inconsistent fast shape higher cost of top eight Padres’s prospect fit high upside starting pitcher three or four he could be a two honestly on this rotation I mean Nick Paveta would you put Joe Joe Musgrove at two or you put him at three I don’t know uh but I I like the idea of him I just don’t know how the execution of him would go is that worth the risk even though he has three more years of control. I mean, 28, 29, 30, 31. Like, I don’t know. You guys let me know. Is he worth the risk? Because we do need some starting pitching. Now, the last one, uh, Brady Singer, where’d you go? Right here. The one that the Chad GBT thought was on the Royals, but is no longer on the Royals. He’s probably the safest option, but not the sexiest option, let’s say. So, right-handed pitcher for the Reds. Traded 25%. If the Raids were to trade a starter singer would make much more sense than Green or Abbott, I would love, of course, Green or Abbott. He’s a free agent after this season, and taking a trade the Reds already won for uh one for Jonathan India last winter, and parlaying it into even more is an ideal scenario. Singer has one year of control remaining at roughly 12 million pending arbitration. Singer has thrown between 150 and 180 innings each of the past four seasons, but with a below average fast ball velocity, 92.2 2 miles per hour, a singer, a sinker, so he can be classified as an innings eater. Uh, his slider and sweeper are his best pitches delivered from a low release due to his low arm slot and big extension. Again, Padres’s right there in the team fits. So, let’s look at his stats, right? Again, not the sexiest pitcher, obviously. He had a 403 RA last year. It’s not horrible. It’s not great. It’s fine, right? His job is to eat innings. And with someone like Ruben Nebla on our team, we could probably lower that to what it was in 2024 with 3.71 erra. I would take a 3.71 erra. But his breaking stuff very, very good. No offspe pitches. Fast ball not great. Pitching run value just below average. Everything is basically average or slightly below average. But his extension is really good, which means he gets really close to the plate when he throws it. Uh but he’s a big guy, right? He’s 6’5. So yeah. So Todd needed two three starting pitcher behind Musgrove Paveta. I think he’d be a good three. And then we have JP Sears, Randy Vasquez, or Kyle Hart as four, five. But he’s cheap. He has one year left, so obviously not a huge deal. But again, he’s cheap. Won’t cost Jackson Merrell level pieces. I mean, Jackson Merrill, let’s rephrase that. It won’t cost Ethan Salah level pieces. I don’t know why you’d want to use Jackson Merrill as an example. Mid prospect or bullpen arm fits instantly as a starting pitcher. Three. Uh, and he’s speaking from his stats, like his stats aren’t horrible. They’re not great. They’re fine for what he is. He’s a fine pitcher. Relatively young. Uh you love to control. He’s going to eat some innings. He is the most realistic option. Like I said, he’s just not the sexiest option. So, let me know what you guys think of these three players. Do you like them? Do you want videos on Pablo Lopez and Freddy Peralta? Cuz I can do them. I just don’t want to have five players in one video. But yeah, let me know what you guys think. Do you like any of them? Do you hate all of them? Andrew, give me some better players, please. I will look for better players if you find me some or I’ll find some. But you know what I mean. But yeah, do you like them? Do you hate them? What would you rate them? And as always, have a fantastic rest of your day. Please subscribe and go Padres’s. Offseason winter meetings almost here. I think next week or two weeks from now, something like

  1. Padres were 16th in era for starting pitching . Great pitching coach no . There's nobody to trade. Farm system is rated last . Thanks to AJ. Tell me who can they trade out of the farm system that anybody would want?.
