Can Lebron still put up this kind of performance in a game if he wanted to?

sure
Likely still yes, especially if it’s a defensive mismatch
It is necessary? No. It will be fun to watch though
If LeFUthrees are gonna drop then sure, why not
Corey Brewer put up 50. For the greats like LeBron and Curry, as they age it’s not so much about CAN they, it’s how consistently can they flip the switch and the engine still fires on all cylinders . 2012 he could do this 10-15 times a season if he was hell bent. Now, probably like 1-3 if the shots dropping and the team needs him to force the issue.
…if he wants to.
He didn’t look like he wanted more than 10 last game.
Yes. But not right now he still needs a bit of time to heal from the sciatica inury, and he won’t unless Luka and Ar are both injured and even then I don’t think he would. But he’s the NBA’s all time leading scorer and made second team just last season.
Realistically ? No. And that’s still ok, he’s old so we shouldn’t expect him to do too much.
Looking like Bron already on his retirement tour.
Not without forcing it, especially not on this team. It would’ve even be conducive to winning really
if Kobe with one good leg and one good shoulder and all that mileage can put up 60 in his last game by just chucking the shit out of the ball, someone like LeBron can do so as well. I don’t think it’s gonna happen in the normal flow of a normal game though given his age and current limitations
not likely if he plays like how kobe played his last game sure
50? Nah.. 30? Sure.
People here acting like 50 pts is easy, and most superstars would just be able to get it easy if they just wanted to.
Like you’d have to be a score first dude on a team with no proper second option for someone to get close to 40 every night.
Maybe if he takes 100 shots
He’s gunna have an opportunity to make a difference tomorrow night against Toronto with Luka out hopefully he don’t fuck off like he did against Phoenix.
Yup
Yes.
Yes but he has to get his rhythm back and would have to be aggressive from the start of the game. 3 ball and free throws need to be falling too. He can’t be just facilitating and then try to start scoring in the second quarter.
Totally
I think he could. But it would take too much energy, and risk injury. It’s not worth it. His entire mentality now is about taking it slow so he can make it to the playoffs.
He still doesn’t seem to be 100%. He seems to be taking it slow and since LA already has started with a decent amount of wins, he is not overexerting himself. He is not gonna put full effort just to have a better chance at #2 seed come playoffs.
If he wanted, sure.
Realistically speaking, I don’t think he has more to prove.
That was nearly 4 years at this point. I’m going to be the person here who says no. 56 pts is going lights out for 40+ mins and I just don’t think he has that level of stamina in him anymore. Since last year, there are so many possessions he just seems GASSED towards the mid/end game, making dumb mistakes, bad defensive possessions, low activity offensive possessions.
LeBron has never been a chucker so if he cared to shoot 26 shots in a game like his teammate absolutely, but for his last game it’s much more likely he gets 15-20 assist in that game
Yea, probably in the playoffs is he has too
Age is the determining factor. It sucks getting old and when you’re elite athlete it sucks even more.
