Send them CJ, Corey, and 3 FRP

  1. I was thinking about something like this today, while listening to the Giannis talk on Simmons.

It would be great if the team starts showing real signs of life next season in a way that might allow us to add a real star piece. I’m thinking that we are going to need this upcoming pick and a free agent or trade *something* to get where we want to be.

  2. Even if this was feasible (it’s not), please explain to me OP how this does anything other than get us 35 to 40 wins for the duration of however long he were to hypothetically stay here.

  3. I’d entertain something like this in the off-season, but we need to make sure our FRP doesn’t get sent to the Knicks this summer, so we need to finish in the bottom four this season.

  4. Look I know it’s formality to do wishful trade thinking on all the NBA subreddit groups but let’s sit this one out lmao

  5. You’re thinking about trading for Giannis while I’m thinking about how we’re going to cash out on that 2028 pick swap. We are not the same.

  6. We have the contracts, the cap space & the picks to do this the problem is going to be how much it cost.

They are going to want a minimum of 2 young players of either Sarr, Kyshawn, Bilal, Tre, Bub, AJ, Cam & Will Riley plus 2-4 first round draft picks.

We would probably have to trade the OKC 2026 pick, our 2027 pick, the 2028 Portland/Bucks pick, & either the 2029 pick or that 2029 Boston/MIL/Portland pick.

Yes you get Giannis but he has one year left on his deal & you have nothing to keep him here or from retiring.

As great as Giannis is he doesnt fit the time line. Unless we can get someone else to sign here this offseason then we would be in the same place as the bucks.

Best case Scenario you have Giannis with Kyshawn, Sarr, Tre & Will Riley(We don’t get our first round pick because the Knicks would have it). That isn’t the best team in the East. We lose in the second round each year & Giannis isn’t happy & walks in the offseason to a contender.

  7. Anybody that would rather lose 60 games for the next three years instead of making the trade needs their head examined.

  8. I love the idea of Giannis here, he’s my favorite player; but we’d have to give up too much and we wouldn’t have anything else left to put around him, just doesn’t meet our timeline, in 2 years it’s a different story
