Minnesota Vikings QB plans for 2026 and beyond

Get up or die. Purple Daily is daily Vikings entertainment. We just want the Vikings to win a Super Bowl before we die. I will ride with this group. Seriously, man. Please. And away we go. All right. Darren Doogie Wolson from the five Eyewitness News sports department here with some information. Maybe a little reckless speculation on a Thursday. We better Phil. Yeah, it wouldn’t be a Thursday if we didn’t. Well, let’s let’s start let’s start here. Let’s start with future of the quarterback position here. I’ll just I think we’ll throw this out to Thor on the Thursday episode, too, just to get his thoughts. Uh, but JJ McCarthy, if if he can stay healthy through the last month of the season, is going to get five cracks at it again. Kevin Oonnell has been very reflective in his comments to the media about just the bottoming out of this offense and the failures of the passing game. What do these next five games mean for McCarthy and the organization? It c could these next five games sway what they do at that position between now and week one or is it too far gone too late? I think he could be brilliant. Five consecutive games of brilliance. You still need to bring in competition come March. Now, Phil, we could debate how high a level do you go? Do you pursue a Kyler Murray type or is it somebody like trading for Jameus Winston or M. Jones or signing heck if Jaden Daniels doesn’t play on Sunday Marcus Mariota? Is it somebody of that ilk or do you aim significantly higher? Now, I’m not convinced. I mean, people love to throw out Justin Herbert. Would the Chargers move on from Justin Herbert? Could you trade for Justin Herbert, who this front office previously has inquired about? Or would the Bengals ever consider moving Joe Burrow? No, I don’t think those two scenarios are in the realm of possibilities, but certainly it looks like something is going to happen with Kyler. I think M. Jones getting traded makes logical sense. How much of an overpay are you willing to do, right? Because if you bring in a M. Jones. It’s entirely possible JJ McCarthy beats out M. Jones come next summer. That opening night, opening day 2026, JJ McCarthy is this team’s starting quarterback. I hope he plays well, Phil. I like him as a human being, right? I root for his well-being. I’ll be completely transparent about that. I like him as a person. So, I hope he plays well these next five games. And if he does, that to me just doesn’t change a thing. It really doesn’t. You need to have a viable alternative come March. And hey, that dialogue will pick up. Trust me, it’ll pick up significantly come January, right? Like senior bowl into the combine February. By early to mid-March, they will absolutely know what their plan is. So, Okonnell uh started to get reflective at the press conference podium last Wednesday. Monday, he was downright despondent, but very reflective. Wednesday, I felt he picked up the the uh his the pep in his step a little bit, but still reflective. And here’s my question. Let’s dissect this from Okonnell’s standpoint because his comments yesterday to me were very again interesting. He essentially said, “Let’s put all of this talk that I’ve been talking about about um fundamentals and mechanics. Let’s put that off. I’ve just told him now this is all about your decisionmaking and I want you to essentially for lack of a better term complete some damn passes. That’s it. So here’s my but here’s my question. Son of a Yeah. Exactly. But but here’s the question off of that and I think it’s the most important question. Is Kevin Oonnell does Kevin Oonnell want JJ to just go out there and forget all of the stuff that he has tried to do because it’s clearly slowed him down uh paralysis by analysis or is Kevin Oonnell himself moving on and he’s just like you know what for five games go out there have fun he’s like Drewie just go out there and have fun out there on the field. It’s like you’re playing on a big field at recess. That’s my question. Like I can’t. He’s literally talking now about like we’re just putting everything that we talked about aside and I just want him to have fun. And look, he’s going to play for five games, but I’m starting with you dudes in one. I think they’re going they’re going to bring in competition, but I’m trying to to decide has Okonnell almost like mentally just moved on himself where he’s decided he might come back as a backup, but I’m to the point now where I can’t do this. We can’t do and and including don’t forget probably the most important person Justin Jefferson can’t do this. All right. Well, first off, be careful on the druggy assumption when you play for Hopkins High School, whatever basketball team you’re on. If you’re under that Hopkins umbrella, trust me, yeah, there’s some fun, but there’s a heavy emphasis on winning on JJ McCarthy. Jud, I mean, 22 years old, I don’t get the sense that Kevin Oonnell is like, “Okay, the latter what you just laid out.” Like no. But I think there’s also a realization all the mechanical fixes like you just you can’t do that in season. That’s just not happening. We’ve alluded to this Jud going back weeks. Like how do you fix that in season? Like to me that’s you know day one offseason program come April, right? With a heavy emphasis April, May, June, July, August, right? like that will be an ongoing process when the calendar flips to 2026. But no, I don’t get the sense that KOC is like, “Okay, JJ McCarthy, we’re done. 22 years old. I’m giving up on you.” No, I just I don’t. But I do find it fascinating that we can just go back what, two to three to four weeks ago. Go back listen to the messaging KOC then compared to what we heard on Wednesday. It’s night and day. It really is. And so I’ll fully admit his comments on Wednesday surprised me. I like the approach. I’m fine with it. I did not expect to hear that though from KO on there. Uh there I just I feel like he’s all over the place with this. I feel like the the the two years of development have been it doesn’t feel like they’ve had a a a plan that they’ve stuck to. And I know that the meniscus injury kind threw off the timing of the development and and all those things, but it I I it it almost feels like they besides the 1-hour meetings with Kevin O’Connell behind the scenes his first season, it feels like JJ McCarthy was kind of just put aside over here uh and then and then we’ll pick it back up once you’re able to get on a practice field. But now, like the fact that Kevin was so adamant five weeks ago that you can’t succeed at this position unless you have a base level of mechanics that reach a certain point and now a few weeks later he’s essentially saying, let’s like with all respect, let’s stop talking about the mechanical stuff and let’s just like clear your mind and play football. Like, okay, it it feels like every week it we’re changing the way that we communicate with him and and the points of emphasis we give him. And again, some of this might fall on, dude, the quarterback at some point, the NFL is going to the NFL moves fast, man. And you got to keep up and it’s on you to figure it out to some extent, but the guidance and the messaging from the Vikings on this and the pulling back of the curtain for their supposed plan feels really rickety to me, Doogie. Oh, absolutely. Yeah. I mean, I can’t disagree with that, Phil. I’m still trying to figure out what exactly does it mean to play free, to play with a clear mind, because there have been simple out routes that he’s missed the throw on. And I’m not sure I want him scrambling all that much. I get it. His legs are a part of what certainly I think for the most part, you know, we think about the appeal of JJ McCarthy. I think him being able to run, make plays with his legs stands out. But I’m not quite sure these next five games I want him using his legs all that much because I still fear that whether it’s another concussion, whatever it is, like I need to see him stay on the field for these five games. And so I just I don’t know, Jud, like can you help me with this? I don’t know what exactly that means. I like the messaging. Yeah. You I’m trying to figure out what exactly the messaging will look like come Sunday. Well, I I think part of the problem though, I think what Okonnell is now saying and probably largely realizing was some of the simple throws he missed, it was clear he was thinking about them so much that he missed the throw because he was trying to do the footwork properly, do all of that, probably watch the leg whip, which I don’t like. But it was interesting at the end of the press conference, Okonnell was asked specifically about that and sliding. And Okonnell gave a really detailed answer about, yeah, he’s got to learn to slide. He has been he’s been hurt twice now. The Falcons high ankle sprain and the Packers concussion because he tried to scramble for yards and he didn’t get down. I mean, once he gets down, he’s protected. Uh, so I don’t have a problem with him running. I do have a problem with him taking on tacklers. Well, sure. Like McDuffy of Green Bay, I’m with you. But you trust him to avoid that contact. Yes. Okay. If you promise me he’s learned this week in practice that he can slide and how to properly slide. Okay, sign me up. I’d like to see him scramble six, seven times on Sunday. I’m just not there yet. But dude, I need to see to believe it. You You can stop with can you trust him? Just end the sentence there. Can you trust him? C Can you trust him to do anything at this point? And that’s on Okonnell, too. But like like literally, he is now telling him all that stuff I’ve told you, we’ll work on that later. you just go play quarterback and have fun. That that’s what I said. It’s like talking to a kid in fifth grade. Is that could I and maybe you’ve kind of alluded to this here, but like is is when you say, “Hey, forget about all this stuff. Just go play football with a clear mind.” Is that them is that them like moving on to the next evolution of the development? Or is it the opposite? Is it them kind of saying, I mean, we’ve we’ve done everything we can for two years. That’s what I was trying to say. Yeah. I think it’s that, right? Well, but that’s my point. And and go go have fun for five games because we’re trading for M. Jones in March and you’ll still be on the team and you can still work on your footwork, but don’t worry about it. Right. All right. So, next year is year three. I mean, at some point you need to make a decision. We’re not that far away from Okay, what do you do with that fifthyear option? Or heck, do you try to sign him to an extension before that decision? Like, we’re not far away. You could buy low on the extension early, Dukes. You know, get him for We’re not that far away. You We’re not that far away from needing to make some sort of decision longer term on Let me Hey, hold on. Let me ask you this. It’s reckless speculation Thursday. Okay. Reckless speculation. I don’t think the McCarthy camp would do this. Maybe. But like if you said to him right now, “All right, listen. This is a disaster, but uh we’ll offer you we’ll offer you an eight-year contract at $5 million a year. We’ll give you $40 million ironclad guaranteed. Change your life right now.” Yeah, it’s okay. If he if he doesn’t pan out, it’s no sweat off your back. But if he does, you now have a franchise quarterback for $5 million a year, baby. Let’s rock and roll. Can you even do an eight-year deal? I don’t think so. I think it’s like five. So that’s the beauty of the reckless speculation. That’s awesome. Yeah. I mean, you have to bring somebody in. The question is, who are they bringing in come March? Who is it, right? Like, how high are you aiming, right? But it doesn’t matter. I’m telling you. And hey, I think there’s an opportunity now. Dan Quinn taking over the defensive play calling. the Commanders maybe a tick better defensively the last couple weeks, but I think there are some opportunities to make some plays on Sunday. Yeah, maybe Dallas’s defense is a bit better after the transactions of the last few weeks, but I still think there’s an opportunity on December 14th to make some plays. The Giants game on the 21st, same deal, right? Green Bay, maybe we can debate that. Week 18, but week 17, Christmas Day against Detroit. And an opportunity to make some plays. Yeah, it doesn’t matter to me, right? And I’m in many ways, I’m not quite Thor, but I’m a JJ McCarthy apologist at least a little bit, right? But you have to bring in somebody. So, who is that, right? Come March. But the qu but the question again then go go goes back to are you bringing in competition or are you bringing in a starter? Like to me, that’s that’s the discussion. Like I know they got to bring in somebody else, but are you bringing in a guy who you know what, JJ, it didn’t work. You’re going to watch. We’re not going to get rid of you, but you’re going to watch and maybe with another year or two on the bench. And by the way, then the extension doesn’t matter. He’s going to get a pittance at that point. So that’s that to me is the primary question. And then the other question that’s going to come up, I think potentially, and it’s it it might be harsh, but it’s logical, is who’s going to be in the front office helping Okonnell make that decision? Who’s going to be pursuing the quarterback? You were tied up on Tuesday, so we went over this. And hey, it’s a very pertinent question right now, right? Like it’s not like we need to do a whole lot of X’s and O’s schematically break down Sunday’s game, right? Like what are Vikings fans talking about? One of the main talkers is, is Quaodofo Mensa back as this team’s general manager next year? So, I get the question. I’m just telling you, I’ve not heard any inkling. Now, hey, the Wolves are very good at keeping things internal, not leaking out much, if anything at all, but I just I haven’t heard any buzz, especially after the nice lucrative extension that Quy signed earlier this year. I just haven’t heard that they’re going to cut the cord on Quacy in January. Is it on my radar? Sure. Like Kevin Oonnell, no. Like to me, there’s nothing to worry about there. It’s not even a discussion point. Quy at least. Hey, I’m thinking about it, right? But I just I haven’t heard it, Jud. Yeah, I really haven’t heard it. We brought this up on Tuesday. I’ll say it again today. I just I haven’t heard any any rumblings about the Vikings even considering changing their general manager. Back to the quarterback, where’s that cut off? Like, if you bring in, let’s say, hypothetically, Kyler Murray, is he automatically a starter? Okay, M. Jones, is that the cut off? A guy who’s started for multiple years like Murray. So, if you make a move like that, like no doubt whatsoever, he’s the starter in 2026. But M. Jones, presumably that would be competition that M. Jones isn’t handed the keys for week one next year. It’s gonna I know I know people It’s funny because I people assume that like you can just get Kyler Murray for almost nothing. I still feel like that dude’s a former number one overall pick, right? And M. Jones is a is a former first round pick who has re a resurgence in his career here that I think it’s like a second I think it’s like a second or third round pick for M. Jones. But even if it’s like a third or a fourth round pick for one of these guys, that’s pretty hefty draft capital for a backup quarterback. I think you’re making those moves with them being the leader in the clubhouse going into training camp and then if training camp hits and it’s like whoa McCarthy has honed his footwork and he is becoming the top 10 pick. So I think I I think no matter what it’s a little bit open-ended um going into training camp I mean if you trade for Justin Herbert that’s a different story but um so there’s probably some semblance of competition there. Yeah. Won’t won’t M. Jones. If if you trade like a third round pick for M. Jones who will be going into the last year of his contract, wouldn’t he want and wouldn’t you do an extension? You don’t you don’t have to though. Probably. He doesn’t have he doesn’t get to dictate the trade unless he’s going to hold out, which would be foolish. I’m just saying it feels to me it feels to me like like I don’t know if you need to do an instant extension. I mean, fair question, but I don’t know. He’s going to have suitors though. And my point is he’s going to have there’s going to be enough teams that I could see them saying if if we’re going to make a trade because the compensation from the 49ers standpoint if he’s going to do an extension goes up because you’re not trading for the last year. You’re then trading for the last year plus the additional years that the new team gives him on a contract. Yeah. I mean I’m processing all this real time. So I’m starting to think, okay, so right now slated to have four picks in the top 100. Yep. So, you’re sacrificing one of those four top 100 picks for somebody like M. Jones or M. Jones himself. Now, I get it. This front office doesn’t have some sort of lengthy track record on hitting on these top 100 picks, especially after the first round, but yeah, Phil, you’re probably right the more I think about it. Right. If you’re giving up a top 100 pick for a quarterback Yeah. I mean, I don’t know if it’s 8020 that that quarterback is the week 1 2026 starter, but it would skew like over 50%, would it not? Yeah. I have a That’s the pick you’re giving up. And presumably that is the pick. You’re not getting somebody that is decent, if not better, without giving up a top 100 pick. Yeah. I have another question that’s going to I might piss you guys off. We’re going to get to it in a second here, Jud. Uh the play on the field uh decks might not be great at US Bank Stadium, but uh the stadium’s pretty cool and you can tour it. Yes, you can. Yeah, right now you can go usbankstadium.com and you can get a two hour you can get on the list for a two-hour guided tour. Reckless speculation. If and don’t judify this. You don’t get to judify this by pick I’m going to give you two options. You don’t get to just make up your own third, Jud. Okay, Jud. All right, I have my pen. Give me the two options. Option to to run the Vikings football operations and draft. Option A is you continue forward with Quy and Ryan Griggsson. Quy as the general manager and Griggsson as the head the head football guy, right-hand man, basically, right? Yes. And we should remind the audience, we’ve discussed this, but it’s not like Quy is a dictator, right? Like the great buzzword in front office is hey across sports collaboration right there are a lot of people with input yes okay quy has the title of general manager but he leans on his right-hand man Gregson others a ton so yes I’m glad you brought that up it’s not just Quy lump others including Gregson so it’s Quy and Griggsson you continue forward let’s say for the next couple years or Rick Spielman comes back and runs football operations and the draft. The latter. Rick. Yep. Rick. Reckless speculation. I choose Rick as I mean we’re talking about darn near is it 29 draft picks? 22 23 24 25 the four drafts. Is it 29 total picks? 30 28 somewhere in that vicinity. You’re in the ballpark. Yep. Yeah. Okay. So casual conversation, right? Addison still at this point hit. Donovan Jackson I like but up and down, right? But we can sort of put that in the hit category. Will Riker like who else, right? So it’s a lot of either foul balls or complete swings and misses. If you look at Rick Spielman’s track record, it’s banger after banger. O’Neal, Darasaw, Jefferson, go, you know, as long as you want here, right? So, based on the body of work so far, is this even a debate? I mean, I that’s my question. I mean, if you’re, by the way, he’s a senior adviser for the Jets. He’s getable. He’s getable. reckless. Well, you want to admit and real quick, the the two biggest reasons why he was dismissed were one falling out with Mike Zimmer and it was just they just decided ah we’re just going to punt both you guys and start over in part because number two, he couldn’t figure out quarterback. Now, the Vikings have run into some new issues in developing and finding a young quarterback. But we know that when Kevin Oonnell, noted quarterback guy, has a seven-year veteran or more, that offense clicks a lot better, right? So, if if you’re say, “Listen, man, like we’re going to we’ll go get like a M. Jones or whatever and and like let let Kevin cook with the ingredient that he wants to and Rick, you build the rest of it just like you did for all those years.” Is that not like a fairly appealing combination, Rick Spielman, Kevin Oonnell, compared to the current situation, which I think involves maybe a lot of even like fingerpointing and whatnot behind the scenes. I mean, my one blowback is I’m a KOC backer and yeah, we can nitpick a lot of things this year, but to me, the Vikings still have an elite head coach. And from what I can gather, it’s still a pretty darn good relationship with Quy. And so, you bring in Rick under this scenario. What is that KOC Rick relationship like? Like I just I don’t want to ruffle the feathers of KOC. Really? Yeah. I don’t He’s ruffled mine. I don’t see why we won’t right back. I’m not too worried about that. I don’t think he deserves at this point that same level of reverence. I think he I’m just saying be careful what you wish for. Well, but I just think they have a really really good head coach. Right. But are you saying I don’t want to mess with that. But are you saying that the GM is the right guy? Well, no. I mean, okay. Well, then we’re gonna have to ruffle feathers. Work. No. I mean, it’s National Football League, dude. That’s what we do. We ruffle feathers. Yeah. I’m just saying like, how how could you say yes? I guess based on Agreed. Yeah. You know, a year ago, the free agency class, right? But then he gets another go at it. A large free agency class this past March. We’re not talking March of 24, March of 25. outside of Eric Wilson, right? We’re not even talking maybe Jonathan foul ball, but a lot of swings and misses. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. I think we need to start to look I I think I think what we should be starting to is is um doing our due diligence on right uh right-hand men or women in front offices currently because I don’t think you’re going to pill for a current GM but I do think that there is a question about you know Detroit Brad Holmes done a great job right who works with Brad Holmes Seattle John Schneider who by the way I would loved to have gotten St. Thomas guy. He’s from Wisconsin. Former Packers. Exact. He signed I think through 2030. Who does he work with though? Like I think there are I think it’s a legitimate thing for us to build up a list right now of candidates. A and I do think that they would probably filter that person through KO to see how they work together to see like I don’t think they’re going to bring in a GM and say, “Hey, Kevin, meet your new GM.” I think that there would be a a courtesy extended there, but I think it’s very fair right now to come up with a list of football people. Uh because I think there might be an argument to be made that they need to go back to having their GM be a football guy and not this sort of analytics. I got my guy Griggson here and then you look at Griggsson’s past and you’re like, why is he here? What would you say you do here, Ryan? Yeah. Uh who’s second or third in command with the Rams? How long have they been there? That’s another good one. Yeah, that’s what we call. I mean, the Rams have hit on some draft picks in recent years. Oh, KO came from the Rams. He might be I’m just saying. I mean, if we’re thinking about that, right? And yeah, you’re bouncing ideas off KOC. I’m just saying. I mean, who does he know that’s still with the Rams? Yeah. Yeah. Hey, just a little fun reckless speculation uh Thursday. Yes. But realistically speaking, what are the chances any of this actually comes to fruition? Oh, I can see you know there’s going to be changes in January, but to me, you look at Daniels or you look at the O line coach, right? I don’t know. Are you bringing in I mean, it’s something I’ve suggested, but I don’t know if it actually happens. The GM, you’re saying, or bringing in a different right-hand man, right? Maybe Griggsson remains as some sort of consultant. whatever it is. Oh, no, no, no. You bring in a more legit right-hand man. I think the quarterback conversation and I think the GM cut conversation are not are not reckless. I think they’re of paramount importance right now at an undisclosed location in New Jersey. Oh, I Yeah, the quarterback for sure. Definitely not reckless. Yep. Right. I mean, I’ll be shocked. Okay. more meopining. But I’m telling you, McCarthy could be whatever I don’t know what the top QB rating is, but body of work, whatever it is. I test the next five weeks, we give JJ McCarthy a letter grade of A. It doesn’t change anything. Yeah. To me, it doesn’t. How could it? You can’t just hand him the offense for an You can’t do it. You can’t. So yeah, the quarterback discussion absolutely not reckless. The front office, I guess I just I need to gather or hear more stuff. Sure. To me, it’s still a worthy discussion in a forum like this. Yeah. Darren Doogie Wolson from the five Eyewitness News sports department. 1. Doogie, don't be soft. I don't think KOC is tired to the hip of Kwesi. KOC has actually succeeded to a point, despite the failure of Kwesi to draft future talent. Imagine some players hiring in the draft and then you don't have to spend all the money on FA. Or having more money for specific, higher caliber players…?

  2. Ofcourse they are coaching staff if changing the way how they communicate with JJ as they are adapting to what didn’t work. But the fact KOC was dialing up high level plays for him let’s me know that he saw great things in training and is far from being out on him.

  3. If and that's a big IF JJ turns it around in the last 5 games, I'd be fine with bringing Wentz back. I'm sick and tired of running re-runs back at QB and expecting a Super Bowl it hasn't worked in the last 45 years.

  4. Well, barring injury, I know JJ is going to play well in at least one of those games, against Detroit. It sounds like KOC is admitting to a certain extent that the emphasis on mechanics may have set JJ back. He may be grasping at straws a bit, but I hope JJ figures it out.

  5. I guarantee JJ McCarthy will have his best game of the season with the simplification of the offense, no more 20yd routes until next Sunday against DAL where KoC will make him throw 20 adot again & we'll complain again

  6. Why does ANYONE want Kyler Murray. He isn't a leader. He isn't a needle mover QB. He isn't a progression read offense QB, he requires a specific type of offense and we KNOW KOC is NOT going to adjust his offense for his QB. Also, Mac Jones is trash. Even when he was playing this season he wasn't great. I get he's better than JJ but most people are. Go for Jameis or someone like who at LEAST is entertaining to watch and can rip the ball to Jefferson

  7. He won't make it 5 games healthy! Mac Jones is the answer. He looked better than Purdy when he played. There main problem is O-line!!! Look at the difference with Maye in New England. He stands back there for 5-7 seconds every time. Vikings QB's have 2-3 seconds at best!! YOU HAVE TO FEEL COMFORTABLE AS A QB NOT RUNNING FOR YOUR LIFE EVERY PLAY!

  8. Spielman could draft no doubt about it. But he also signed a lot of veteran extensions that handcuffed our cap. I’d bring him in if he was limited to head of draft / scouting

  9. IF #9 plays all the remaining games we will know if he's cutout for the job. Look at Nix, Maye, Williams, Dart, Daniels and Penix….All these guys look like legit NFL QB's, early on….by end of year, either #9 has it or he doesn't.

  10. I'd take Will Levis before any of Doogie's picks. Cam Ward is worse than Levis, so maybe it was the coaching and O line protection with Levis. He's tougher than JJ glass and has a strong arm unlike JJ. Levis wants out from Titans, so let him compete with JJ.

  11. Seriously what planet are you guys on? Hebert IS NOT COMING TO THE VIKINGS!!! The chargers are run by the guy that should be running the Vikings! YOU'LL ALL BE CRYING NEXT YEAR OR THE FOLLOWING YEAR WHEN HE WINS A SUPER BOWL! IT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED THIS YEAR BUT BOTH ALL PRO TACKLES GOT HURT! TO THE VIKINGS DID YOU FIRE THE FEMALE THAT WASN'T COMFORTABLE WITH HARBOUGH YET? I BET NOT THE VIKINGS OWNERS ARE A JOKE!

  12. Doogie is worried about ruffling feathers by firing Kwesi?? Wtf is he talking about? This team needs to make a significant change in the front office. The drafts have been a dumpster fire and this team severely lacks the talent necessary to be a contender.

  13. The Vikings picked the wrong QB in last year's draft. They wanted to trade up for Drake Maye, but the Patriots weren't interested in any package for their pick. They then should have gone for Bo Nix who had far more starts at the college level. Bo Nix might have his flaws, but his 29 starts have resulted in 20 wins and put the Broncos into the playoffs for a 2nd year in a row.

  14. Ray Agnew, Assistant GM with Detroit would be a great GM in Minnesota. I would also look at Alec Halaby in Philly, but he's a young analytics guy, so the Wilfs may eschew that for a "footbally football guy" like Agnew.
