Varun made the Herb Jones comp, but I think the better comp is DJJ

  1. I’ve always thought that peak Bilal could look like prime AI. Philadelphia AI. The *other* Philadelphia AI.

    Age 21 seasons, compared: [https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/basketball/versus-finder.cgi?request=1&seasons_type=perchoice&player_id1=iguodan01&p1yrfrom=2005&p1yrto=2005&player_id2=coulibi01&p2yrfrom=2026&p2yrto=2026](https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/basketball/versus-finder.cgi?request=1&seasons_type=perchoice&player_id1=iguodan01&p1yrfrom=2005&p1yrto=2005&player_id2=coulibi01&p2yrfrom=2026&p2yrto=2026)

An alternative two-year comparison with a larger sample size: [https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/basketball/versus-finder.cgi?request=1&seasons_type=perchoice&player_id1=iguodan01&p1yrfrom=2005&p1yrto=2006&player_id2=coulibi01&p2yrfrom=2025&p2yrto=2026](https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/basketball/versus-finder.cgi?request=1&seasons_type=perchoice&player_id1=iguodan01&p1yrfrom=2005&p1yrto=2006&player_id2=coulibi01&p2yrfrom=2025&p2yrto=2026)

  2. the difference in passing skill is pretty massive between Bilal and DJJ. Jones is mostly relegated to the dunker’s spot and catch and shoot stuff due to him being a complete non-passer

  3. DJJ has no handles, can barely shoot. Bilal is better at both, so maybe a rich man’s DJJ *now* which isn’t that bad I guess. I still think Bilal’s ceiling is still like a more explosive OG Anunoby. (Starter level offensive player that won’t be hunted off the court, while also potentially being the best defender on the team).
