Harman is officially on team tank

I am officially on team tank. Let’s before we dive into what’s next, let’s just sum up where the Conucks are at right now. 1014 and three, 30th place in the NHL standings. Just three regulation wins in their last 21 games. They haven’t won back-to-back games since their very first road trip of the season, the tail end of it, uh in that Washington game where Philip Pedle got hurt. And it’s time to forecast what’s next for this team. How low can they realistically go? Is it plausible that they could stay 30th and and finish bottom five in the standings, put themselves in position to land a top five pick? Their odds of landing a top three or top five pick spike if they move some of their players some of those players early. I I asked I asked uh the athletics Don Lucian to run his projection model just run through simulations with a couple of different scenarios. So scenario one was just what if you have the Canucks sell Sherwood Kane Bluegrren Forbert, right? Just depending UFAS, their odds of landing a top five pick this year more than double. Now the the longer the longer you wait though, the longer you hold on to these guys, you’re you’re going to see diminishing upside to your like how much of a boost you get of of bolstering your odds of a top five pick. Uh the second scenario I asked was all your pending UFAS and let’s say Connor Garland to just represent one veteran player who has term left. In that scenario, the Canucks odds of a top three pick spike to nearly 50%. There are five or six players at the top of this 2026 draft class that have star potential.

  1. Pretty sure most fans are ok with a few years of suffering considering we’ve been suffering for decades, as long as we have a clear plan and stick to that path
